My best guess is that the memory card isn't getting mounted on reboot

Re: Redbook CD Audio Support?
Really glad to see this feature, but a little disappointed to find that Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure has issues with it. While I can effortlessly get the intro cutscene to play cd audio properly, at the end of it something seems to have happened that not only crashed Windows 95 but also the entire core, so I couldn't open the menu to reset. Skippin...

Re: Sega 32X Core
Chaotix works since the timing update, but (as noted on github) there's no SRAM support yet.

Re: Sega 32X Core
Yeah I'm referring to the black screen hang. I was just surprised as it's one or the few games to have such obvious issues.

Are there any known releases of Chaotix that work with the core?

Re: [DOS/4GW] Help needed. We are almost there, the perfect DOS machine
Thanks, I'll give that a shot! How does one go about patching an EXE to embed a different DOS4GW.EXE or DOS32A.EXE? I have a large library of "No-CD" modified game EXEs that will need the same process applied. Does DOS32A MYGAME.EXE not work on MiSTer ? Not when the extensions are embedded in the file. You'd have to un-embed them first. ...

Re: How to use official GBA Bios?
Turns out that just flipping the setting and hitting "reset" in the main menu for the core isn't enough. I have to save settings and reboot the core. It works now!

How to use official GBA Bios?
I have placed the GBA bios in the default GBA games folder (i.e., /games/GBA/) and renamed it boot.rom. However, when I actually try to run a program it appears that the homebrew BIOS (normatt) is used instead as it appears instead of the standard GBA splash screen. Do I need to have boot.rom under /BIOS/GBA/? Am I missing some other step?

Re: RetroWave OPL3 Sound Card (USB/SPI) with ao486? (Similar to External MT32-PI?)
I feel like if you're going this route you'd need to set up nukedopl3 on the pi side, because it's pretty cpu-intensive, but I can't say I've looked into this at all. Frankly the core has a better opl3 implementation than, frankly, most sound cards post since the Soundblaster-16, so I've never been too put off by it. That said I haven't used adlib ...

Re: Not able to install Windows 95...[Solved]
Having had more time to go over this I missed that the previous post's archive file was the fu instructions. The step I missed was to set up cd-rom drivers in c:\config.sys and c:\autoexec.bat. Having done that and then doing the pdr file rename, registry rebuild, removal of bad drivers and restoration of the pdr file seems to have fixed it.

Re: Not able to install Windows 95...
It looks to be stalling on ESDI_506.PDR. What worked for me: Do a safemode boot (F8 while starting) and choose 'Step by step confirmation.' Choose to NOT process the system registry. This will get you through the remainder of setup and you can remove the device. Note: you MAY have to rename C:\Windows\System\IOSubSys\ESDI_506.pdr to .bak before do...

Re: CRAM color palette dots option
Cram dots are artifact of Genesis VDP (short answer: interrupts). Sega cd graphics hardware blits to Genesis VDP, not overlaid. Cram dots should be visible in same cases where they show up on Genesis.

Managed to fix this by running 'fdisk /mbr'. Turns out the drive didn't boot because the boot data was wrong!

I'm having this same issue in trying to get DOS 6.22 working on my setup. Booting hangs exactly the same way. I have mounted two 50MB HDD images that came from the same download in the linked thread. Trying to install onto the first one.

Re: Would a Super Game Boy core/function be possible?
I think the big problem with the SNES core is that it's close to full with all the other various mappers and hardware extensions. I would be interested in a core that forked off the SNES core with the sole purpose of implementing super game boy stuff with proper accuracy, though. I think it's fine if it's separate from this which I think of as more...

Re: Would a Super Game Boy core/function be possible?
Things that the SGB effects in the core don't replicate: - Specific SGB interface -- including user-customizable coloration, borders, and animations (and a credits sequence), and these are different between the two SGB models. - Fade-out from Super GB border into game-specific one (not a particularly noteworthy feature on its own) - Use of SPC-700,...

None of the old Megaman cartridge games used SRAM or similar onboard saves. They were all passwords only.

Rumble for GBA Games That Support It?
While GBA games had to have rumble built into the cart for it to register during play in handheld circumstances, a small number of games supported rumble when played through the GB Player (i.e., a use case matching how most people use the MiSTer), detectable on the gamecube controller. The following games had rumble: Drill Dozer Mario & Luigi: ...
