Mahen, are you sure this is not your HDMI monitor interrupting audio an screenmode changes?
For example my Sony 4K TV does this whenever it switches to another resolution for a second.

Re: How to open project from MiSTer Github
Needs to be 17.0.x or for 19.x you have to regenerate the pll megafunction.
In addition compiling on 19.x is much slower than 17.0.x and there is no significant new functionality for our Cyclone 5 added in newer versions anyway.

Re: sym-links on exFAT
Keith, really, can you point me to a usable ext* driver for Windows?
I think exFat is a nice solution as it is read-/writeable on all mayor systems natively these days.
Only caveat are the symlinks, but honestly I for my part don't use a single one on my cards. But as always YMMV

Re: Missing pll, pll_cfg, pll_hdmi projects?
You should really use Quartus 17.0.x, especially if you think about releasing your changes later, as (nearly) all official code is done in this version. As a nice side effect, this version for some reason is often faster on compiling than later ones and later ones don't add any new functionality to the Cyclone 5 support in Quartus. Happy developing...

Re: USB power issue
Try writing it lowercase "games". With NTFS MiSTer seems case sensitive on external USB drives. Valid point - on case sensitive filesystems (ext4, NTFS etc) the pathes and the filenames will be case sensitive on the MiSTer, too. To safe me some hassle, I only use exFat at the moment, this is case insensitive. I think that's why the origi...

Re: Heatsink Adhesive Question
This thermal glue pads can be removed easiest if heated up lightly - e.g. play a game or two before trying to remove it. This way you also keep the mechanical stress at a minimum.

Re: What type of SD card to get for MiSTer
I'm using a 512GB SanDisk Ultra, picked it up for a discount here in Germany last month, at the moment I still have a lot of space free. I prefer a big card over sticks, hdds and network shares as it is more portable. That said, in reality this card is not that fast in writing, so filling up likely will take some time but who cares if you have enou...

Re: Keyboard and Mouse
I use wireless options, for one a Logitech K400, as it is quite small an the integrated touchpad is a big plus. This is really sturdy and the battery runtime is nice. If I need a full sized keyboard I prefer a Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Wireless which comes with a seperate and wireless numerical keypad and a rather funny looking but quite comfortab...

Re: Wallpaper Request
Ah, I think I misunderstood the feature. As both of you said, place some wallpapers in /wallpapers and then the menu selects one randomly on startup. What I didn't get was if I hit F1 I could cycle throught the various test patterns, the snowy animation and exactly that one randomly selected picture. I was under the impression, that F1 would allow ...

Does this really work? I can't seem to get it to load anything other than the default images, neither from /wallpapers nor /backgrounds.

Re: MT-32 with Munt
If you're going the emulation route, why not use the built in emulation on the MiSTer itself (running in Linux)? Not much sense in using yet another device to do the same... That's not completely true if I recall correctly. If you use FluidSynth you are right, but the perfomance of Munt on the MiSTer seems to be somewhat lacking and can lead to dr...

Re: Is there any hw/sw reason why memmaker is not able to change the memory configuration
Goingdown is right, the settings for this are a bit complicated due to the non standard memory table of ao486 (if I recall correctly, there was a lengthy thread in the old atari forum). To use all memory and be able to run memmaker you have to modify your CONFIG.SYS before. The EMM386.EXE line should read: DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE 32768 RAM FRAME=E...

Re: "Bad contact between games" error
Just to chime in, I also have one of the XXSD module from misterfpga.co.uk (thanks Nat for your great quality and service) and a quick test in Metal Slag 1 showed no problems. But I have read, that the XXSD module has some pcb routing problems, resulting in latency between data lines. Perhaps some of these symptoms are due to a too narrow productio...
