Re: FPS Boost For Some Games On PSX Core Due To CPU Data Cache

Sorry if I've missed something obvious in the original post, but how - exactly - does one find and enable this CPU Data Cache feature? I had a quick look in the video and debug options menus but nothing leapt out at me. This was late last night though - maybe my tired eyes glazed over it. Cheers.

Re: Sync Problem Rolling Picture Using direct_video Mode

Have you tried NTSC-U with an NTSC bios also? Same scrolling? Just curious if it is the same if your Trinitron supports both. I should've added that clarification to my post. To date, I've only used PSX Unstable in NTSC-U mode with an NTSC Bios, and that's where I'm getting the scrolling. I tried very quickly switching PSX core into PAL mode and r...

Re: Sync Problem Rolling Picture Using direct_video Mode

Can confirm PSX unstable Jan 31st core shows a - somewhat - stable picture on my PAL Triniton CRT ('98 model which supports NTSC and PAL). The picture bounces up and down in a very sickness-inducing manner when testing Castlevania: SoTN, but at least it doesn't "scroll". Every version from Feb 01 through latest release as of today (Feb 10...

Re: Anyone else getting funky results with black backgrounds on a consumer grade CRT?

Odd, I have the some setup and it works fine. The image is shifted to the right somewhat but that's a known issue. Could be your set is too sensitive to current frequency... That could well be the case. The little hdmi-to-vga adapter dongle I got around 2 years ago (same exact one recommended by Sorgelig at the time), seems to be a cheap, poorly-a...

Re: Anyone else getting funky results with black backgrounds on a consumer grade CRT?

I installed the Unstable PSX nightly for the first time last night (release 05Feb22). My MiSTer has a Digital IO board and is normally connected to my 1998 Sony Trinitron consumer-grade TV with RGB SCART via DAC/adapter using MiSTer "Direct Video". Like the original poster, it is a PAL region TV, but also supports NTSC and PAL60. Unfortun...

Re: MiSTerFPGA.co.uk

Popular item! Can you confirm that we'll be able to order an MT32-pi cable as a standalone component, then? (when they're available, of course). I bought a hat this round, but it will be nice to be able to connect it to the MiSTer.

Re: DAC/headphone amp for MiSTer recommendations?

Here's another recommendation for a headphone DAC/Amp to use w/ MiSTer. The OP has already chosen a great solution, so this is just another option for people perusing this thread in future. I'm using the Creative Sound BlasterX G6 . I find it to be a whole lot of DAC/Amp for the price (~£100). It is very clean and has discrete bi-amplification (one...

Re: MiSTerFPGA.co.uk

Hi @Nat,

Any rough ETA on ready-to-go MT-32Pi hats/cables for purchase? A month isn't too soon to ask since the question was last raised, I hope :).

Re: Xbox Wireless Adapter Driver (xow) Ready for Testing

Quick question. Does this XoW driver now come as standard with MiSTer Main, or is it still in testing? I'm considering a backup/reformat/refresh of my MiSTer for general maintenance, and figured I'd wait until XoW is ready for prime time (even though I realise it can be installed manually, having already done so in my current install). Thanks!

Re: SHMUP Slowdown / Accuracy of Arcade Cores

I've got a freesync monitor, and the OSD tells me it's running at 57khz (OSD is rounding to the nearest integer, obviously) when I run Dodonpachi. And there is no tearing (which would definitely be visible without vsync enabled). So.... it appears to be doing its thing and running at the refresh rate of the input signal. Which monitor are you usin...

Re: Occasional Freezing

I'm having these freezing troubles in ao486 games also (for many games in the Flynn Top 300 DOS pack). Hopefully it'll be fixed in a patch at some point. Secret of Monkey Island just locks up at practically every new cutscene (can still access the MiSTer OSD, etc... and even the MIDI sound keeps playing). Same thing with Prince of Persia 2... I get...

Re: MiSTerFPGA.co.uk

I should have finished the first batch of complete mt32-Pi hats this week, I will post here as soon as they are live on the webiste. In the meantime I had a number of requests to make the PCB's available so added them for those who wanted to make their own mt32-Pi for MiSTer Pi hat PCB Awesome, Nat! I was just about to email you and ask, but check...

Re: Xbox Wireless Adapter Driver (xow) Ready for Testing

Amazing - I've been checking up on this since SmokeMonster mentioned it in a tweet a few months back. Really excited to see that it's arrived! Bought an Xbox Series Controller and wireless dongle specifically for use with this driver on MiSTer! Will wait for it to become "official" - thanks, and good luck with the testing! Edit/Update: I ...

GB Core No Longer Working on CRT?

Hi - I've a bit of a tech support question here. My MiSTer is connected to my Sony Trinitron TV via a VGA-to-SCART converter using Direct Video. The last time I played the Gameboy core a few months ago, everything was working fine on my TV. With the latest update (I would assume, at least), the GB core is no longer displaying anything except noise ...

Re: eXoFlynn Top 300 DOS Pack Updates and Support

This pack is just awesome, thanks again flynnsbit! The only thing (that I have tried so far) I can't get working is the version of Monkey Island with CD Music and SFX. The game is running fine but there's no music or sound effects playing for me. The floppy version with adlib and VGA works great so no big deal. Hey Charmless. I had the same issue ...

Re: Guide Setting up Remote MIDI Emulation (Midilink, Munt, Windows)

@ jjronimo Huge thanks for this guide! I've been wandering around down the rabbit hole trying to figure out how to connect up all this stuff for the last few days... and I was already about halfway there, but this just lays it all out clearly. MT-32 emulation on my Windows PC with a great Amp/DAC, feeding some nice Sennheiser headphones, while the ...

Re: eXoFlynn Top 300 DOS Pack Updates and Support

@ flynnsbit, Great work on this pack. I've been absolutely loving playing some of these old classics over the last few nights and you've massively lowered the bar for entry here (my DOS knowledge is extremely rusty and my own initial efforts to setup AO486 were slow going!). So far, so good in terms of most games running straight out the gate, too....
