Re: ds4/sn30pro+ sticky buttons/strange behavior

I couldn’t figure how to get into the Neo Geo core’s pad test but I did the same test with the SNES core and the SNES burn-in test ROM and I couldn’t reproduce it with a DS4.

Re: ds4/sn30pro+ sticky buttons/strange behavior

Do you have an OTG cable that you could use to plug the DualShock4 directly to the OTG port? The idea is to rule out the USB hub as the potential culprit.

I will try to reproduce your steps and report here.

Edit: I’ve just read your post about the hub.

You should probably need to set forced_scandoubler or vga_scaler as 1 inside MiSTer.ini file

Maybe SNES core needs to check the ROM type information in the header and disable SRAM writes if the game doesn’t have it?

Given how GBA core replicates the horrid sound of world 7 map in Super Mario Advance 4, I would say it's 100% accurate!

Thanks, Lancelot!

Yes, there's no way out of it. We'll need at least horizontal interpolation.

My only hope now for Pixel Perfect without interpolation is getting horizontal integer scaling + vertical cropping added to the scaler.

Re: forced_scandoubler affecting HDMI scaling

Workaround: Set up your mister.ini file to match whatever display you use most of the time. Then copy it as mister_alt_1.ini and change the settings to match your second display. MiSTer will now always boot in the mode specified by mister.ini, and you can press Back+Left in the menu to toggle to the other ini. Yeah, this was what I've ended up doi...

forced_scandoubler affecting HDMI scaling

Is that possible to make the forced_scandoubler=1 setting to affect only the VGA output (I'm using the IO board)? If I turn this on, which is necessary when I connect my MiSTer to my VGA monitor, this seems to affect the scaling of the HDMI output when I'm using it on the HDMI TV. This can be verified by turning the scanlines on (in the scaler filt...

Shaking image on SNES core only on VGA output

I've just got a brand new 17" CRT monitor. I'm using scaler only for HDMI and it's set for 1080p, so I'm using forced_scandoubler=1 for the VGA output. Everything looks awesome on NES, Genesis and TG16 cores, but I get a shaking image (top part only, the bottom looks great) in the SNES core. SNES core looks great on 480p on this monitor if I e...

Pixel Perfect without interpolation: possible?

Hi there!

Is there a way to get full screen 720p HDMI no-shimmering pixel perfect output on MiSTer, on the NES core for example, without having to use interpolation at all? In case that's possible, what settings should I look into?

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers.

For multi-games, that makes all sense to me. I would keep loading single games from same directory capability though, if possible.

You could write a little "daemon" on MiSTer side that checks for changes inside /tmp/CORENAME (this file holds the name of the current loaded core).

Yes I can set up the original 8 gig card and use it for a while. I haven't had a repeat for a day or so since I started cold booting out of gaming sessions. Should I keep up the cold boot procedure or.go back to just turning it off to see if the issue pops back up? So cold booting is always a success in your tests? Yeah, I would suggest the origin...

You just have to make sure your bios is renamed to boot.rom and it's inside the /media/fat/games/MegaCD directory. It sould work.

Re: Savegames randomly stop working.

You're probably powering off before HPS Linux had a chance to flush save file buffer to disk/SD.

As a general rule, and this is what I always do aside of setting autosave on, is performing a cold reboot from core's menu. This ensures buffers are flushed before you turn your MiSTer off.

Currently supernt + sd2snes cart leads In SNES perfection however that combo is like $1000 when you add everything up (Australia dollerydoos).
