Re: Video Info On CRT TV 15Khz

Your setup is fine. The res above indicates your analog output, which is what matters, while the one below states the digital output res.
If you’re using a CRT, you can pretty much ignore the 2nd line shown, cause you’re not connecting via hdmi at all :P

Re: MiSTer MidiLink

Hi there,

I'm also using a UM-ONE mk2 USB cable with my original Roland CM-32L device.
Gemini Wing and other Sharp games used to play Midi just fine on the X68000 core a couple years ago with my setup.
Seems Midi got messed up in most X68000 games by a newer version of the core.

Re: Video Info On CRT TV 15Khz

Hi there, Your CRT should display the same resolution as original hardware would, if you're using the analog port. For instance, Castlevania on the Mega Drive switches between 256x224 and 320x224 and that's exactly what the MiSTer will display. Your ini-file should look similar to this: [MiSTer] key_menu_as_rgui=0 ; set to 1 to make the MENU key ma...

Just checked my own screenshot of the freeze and it happened while Rastan was still on the lower part of that slide.
So that's almost in the same spot as yours.

Re: Rastan - game freeze at same point on most core alts

I can confirm this issue mentioned above with the older japanese version of Rastan Saga. Stage 5 froze on me during two separate runs. Not exactly sure it ocurred when the bats were supposed to spawn, but that seems quite likely. The freezes never happened when I played the newer, tougher version with bats galore. Thanks for the awesome TAITO core,...

Re: Jammix or Mistercade for JAMMA and HDMI

Good to know the Jammix doesn't provide any video on the Jamma edge. I’m pretty sure there’s a way to make the Jammix output video correctly through the JAMMA edge. You’d just have to ask Ricardo how to pull that off. All I’m saying is that it wasn’t necessary in my case, because my Taito Egret 3 also has a separate VGA-cable, directly to its CRT.

Re: Jammix or Mistercade for JAMMA and HDMI

So I got Ricardo‘s Jammix Mister in an ITX-case like a month ago and wired it to my Taito Egret 3 cab. I prefer playing every action game with an arcade control panel on a sturdy cab, even all the console stuff. Super happy with the results, but I should’ve placed an order for the item without the case, as it obstructed the JAMMA interface. The imp...

Re: Operation Wolf and Rolling Thunder

Rolling Thunder is one of my favourites too and you can play it on Robert Peip‘s PSX-core via „Namco Museum Encore“. It‘s glorious and a close to perfect port :)
As for Operation Wolf, Jotego seems most likely to look into that one, but we have to be patient with his team, as they‘re juggling an insane number of tasks right now.

Re: Solomon's Key DB15 Issue

Hi Zagg3r
I can confirm that there’s an issue when trying to change V-Adjust in the Solomon’s Key core while using a DB15 controller.
All inputs go nuts after adjusting the vertical screen position value. The main menu shuts down and remains inaccessible, unless the device is reset.

Rastan, Robocop and Sly Spy are all still in the beta phase.
You can download any beta core and mra-file from jtbin, but can't play them without jtbeta.zip.
Please chip in and support Jotego if you can, as his work is one of the best things that ever happened to gaming :)

Hey Supes ;) Just play the PS1 versions on Namco Museum 1 - 5 and Encore (Japan only), once Robert has completed his PSX-core. The ports are fantastic, with only Dragon Spirit affected by slowdown and dropping frames. Screen rotation is also supported, but only in one direction. Splatterhouse and Galaga '88 aren't available, but you can give some o...

Re: Namco Dual Stick Assault

You can play Assault with a Twinstick on PS1 via Namco Museum Vol. 4. Ordyne is on the same disc.
I think Namco ported their Museum arcade games specifically for the PS1, before resorting to emulation from PS2 onward.
Rolling Thunder on Vol. 6 (R) feels pretty darn perfect for instance, but Dragon Spirit has some issues with slowdown.

Is there any way to just opt into the Open Beta stuff, but not the Closed Betas? I don't want to start a game and find out it's locked only when it has loaded. It's frustrating. Nope. He rearranged his releases so that jtbin contains both open and closed betas, and 'jtstable' contains public cores but at a slower cadence than 'jtbin'. Previously e...

Re: Original controllers - SNAC vs. USB?

DB9 is not the same as SNAC. SNAC is directly connected to the core without additional polling. Check out Antonio Villena's MiSTer devices. He builds them with a SNAC8 interface, implemented through a DB9 connector. Apparently SNAC8 has one additional pin compared to the offical SNAC7, but it's lagfree all the same. I'm running the ENCC/UserIO joy...

Your USB adapter must be very bad and laggy. Oh, I can 1cc Contra or Ghouls'n Ghosts and pull off combos with a USB controller just fine too, tyvm. I just perform NOTICEABLY better with SNAC, up to the point where most games feel entir...

Hi there,

Try copying the boot.rom file into the MegaCD folder on the root of the SD card, instead of the /games/MegaCD one.
That should do the trick.
