Re: High Quality MiSTer Logo File

I asked this same question a few days ago. There's no actual font, but rather a mod of one.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you actually gain other than having a MiSTer in a box with a screen?

Re: MiSTer: USB and power nightmares with DE-10

Correct me if I'm wrong... you have your DE-10, with it's power supply, then you have your USB Hub, with it's own power supply. You want to switch off DE-10, but it does not switch off, correct? The easiest way to fix this is to cut the +5V line between the DE-10 and the USB Hub. There are various ways to achieve this. On mine, I've opened the cabl...

Re: Custom Video Modes Test Thread

Interesting. That could very well be... I've tried both with and without the SoG switch flipped... I hardly call myself an expert, despite the degree in EE. :) Do you have a scope, to capture a few signals and share? Perhaps you could build a circuit to "amplify" the sync signals, for an example with a simple 74 series logic circuit? Ima...

Re: Show Us Your MiSTers

Here's my setup, still in the works though. Case.JPG Case_.JPG Designed as two piece case + buttons, housing a De-10 Nano + IO Board + 20mm fan. Test case was printed before I was given an official MiSTer logo (compliments of jca ). There's a lot of ringing artifacts visible on the case, so printer could use a bit of tlc as well. Case is meant to b...

Re: Custom Video Modes Test Thread

...It feels like a bug to me, but it might just be my ignorance in video signaling... Your issue reminds me of a scenario where a monitor/TV input is "consuming" too much of your sync signal, causing the voltage to drop. Without appropriate voltage levels, monitor simply doesn't see the signals, and can't sync. With white video (pretty m...

Re: Designing a Case - Font Needed

If you mean the font from the MiSTer logo, you won't find any as I heavily modified the original font when I created it. Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Ok, if that's not available, would it be a stretch if I asked for a logo image, either raster or vector. I could then use it to bump map it onto the surface of the case. Perhaps there is a logo ...

Designing a Case - Font Needed

Hi all,

as per the subject, I'm designing a case for my MiSTer. Majority of the design has been done, now it's down to "fine tuning". What I'm lacking is the MiSTer fonts. I tried the github, but did not find any. Does anyone know the names of the fonts? Or has the link to them?

Photos of my case to follow.

Cheers

Re: JTCPS1, Jotego's CPS1 core - checksum issues?

Note that the filenames must always be MiSTer and menu.rbf respectively, without the version numbers. A full reinstall shouldn't be necessary, you can just replace the files MiSTer and menu.rbf. Totally agree. I was changing the SD card to larger, so I had to install from fresh anyway. I reckon I should have been more accurate in my posts. :) Than...

Actually, if ohmmeter shows anything but infinity (leading digit 1, in case of many digital mm's), it means it's conductive.

Re: Heatsink Adhesive Question

Any cooling is better than no cooling. Metal particles or mesh in this case, are introduced to improve thermal conductivity. Even though I haven't tried it myself on the DE-10 Nano, you should be fine using it. What you want to make sure though, it being a metal mesh, that it does not come in contact with the conductive parts of the board, surround...

Re: Drama? What happened to Atari-forum?

As mentioned above, it was good sign that MiSTer should become independent. I didn't move to separate board because i didn't want to occupy my busy time with forum management. More tasks for me - less time for each task. I prefer to concentrate on development than supporting on forum. I'll join with saying that MiSTer deserved a board of its own. ...

Re: JTCPS1, Jotego's CPS1 core - checksum issues?

OK, got it to work. Having found nothing related in the n00b section, I've reinstalled the OS using the latest files. Needless to say, everything works. I'm not certain now if it was my fiddling or did I happen to run into an incompatibilty between the older OS version and some cores. Doesn't really matter I guess. Thank you for you help guy...

I tend to think so, but I'll double check.

I'll also visit the noob section of the forum, perhaps I've done something wrong when setting up my MiSTer, initially.

Re: JTCPS1, Jotego's CPS1 core - checksum issues?

And you can always try the RetroDriven MiSTerMame script, it pulls the right roms for you: https://github.com/RetroDriven/MiSTerMAME Thanks for the post. Unfortunately, none of the methods suggested worked. 0.220 nor 0.221 (both merged, as per softtest9's advice), nor RetroDriven roms (I can't run the update scripts on the MiSTer, I don't have it ...

Re: JTCPS1, Jotego's CPS1 core - checksum issues?

I haven't had an issue so far. Here's what I did: Make a folder named "_Arcade" in root of SD card. Put all the CPS1 .mra files in "_Arcade" folder. Inside "_Arcade", make a "cores" folder, as well as a "mame" folder. Inside "cores" folder, put the CPS1 core. Inside "mame" folde...

Re: JTCPS1, Jotego's CPS1 core - checksum issues?

Further to above, I've tried replacing the rom files, obtained from a "confirmed" source. Still the same. .mra files associated to the roms I'm trying to load have none set for MD5 hash. I tried adding the hash value to it, but still the same. BTW, I made sure to calculate the hash for the actual rom zip that I'm using (the "confirme...

JTCPS1, Jotego's CPS1 core - checksum issues - resolved

Hi all,

recently, Jotego had released an official version of his CPS1 core for MiSTer. I have trouble with running it, reporting an "MD5 mismatch for rom 0", for all the CPS1 roms that I have.

Anyone had similar experience or an advice on how to tackle this?
