Actually this may be happening on regular DE-10 hardware too... was there an update recently in MiSTer main?

It is the same on regular DE-10 Nano, it has been there for years and it is not a bug. Horizontal scanlines are generated by a vertical filter.

It does look surprisingly decent for the era!

A Super Cassette Vision core is on its way, see https://gitlab.com/ReverendGumby/SuperC ... ion_MiSTer. It lacks audio at the moment but it will get there.

The game has a save feature, does it not? You could try deleting the save file (in saves/SNES) in case it has been corrupted or there is an incompatibility with the new core. Just a thought.

Re: Remapping Mister Menu Button on NSO N64 Controller

Thank you all for this - I managed to sort out the issue but weirdly it won't let me mapy the "B" button correctly. All other buttons are fine including assingning menu button to the home button. I have a spare USB N64 controller which now maps perfectly (two button press for menu) but its not as nice as the NSO controller. Any idea why ...

SHould I basically use space to get through all of the buttons apart from OSD and then configure the inputs on the n64 core menu?

No, only press Space when asked to map buttons that you do not have or do not want to be mapped. Otherwise, they will be undefined. You likely want to map at least the menu navigation buttons.

Re: Remapping Mister Menu Button on NSO N64 Controller

The MiSTer menu button (aka OSD button) can be mapped in the main menu. You should have a keyboard plugged in alongside the controller before selecting "Define joystick buttons". If it asks for a 2nd joystick, press Space on the keyboard to skip and continue to the next step.

See the wiki for more information.

You can of course download the mra and rbf files from github and place the them in the appropriate folders.

Unlike mupen64plus, I believe that the MiSTer core only accepts roms in big endian format. Check that your rom files have the extension .z64 (not .n64 or .v64).

Re: Does Anyone Has a List of (What I Call Neo-Retro Games)?

Indie Retro News cover many new indie releases for old systems with a focus on old 8-bit and 16-bit computers.

Most games will work on MiSTer. A notable exception is many new Atari 2600 games that need an ARM chip (see this post for a compatibility sheet).

Re: Multiple Custom Controller Layouts in a Single Core

If you are using a favorites menu, then I suppose that you load games via MGL files. You can edit the MGL files and give an alias to the corresponding core using setname . The configurations that you make in the core menu will then be saved to a file specific to the alias. You can use a different alias for each controller setup. A caveat is that th...

Odyssey 2: No audio via TOSLINK

I connect MiSTer to an external speaker via an optical audio cable on the analog IO board. This works perfect for all cores but Odyssey2, which is silent. Sound works fine with the same core if I change to either an analog cable or HDMI. I suspect that it is a bug in the Odyssey2 core. Can anyone confirm the issue? EDIT: Looking at similar topics, ...

For the most accurate speed, you can use the Turbopad emulation for this specific core. In the core menu under "Hardware", look for the setting "Controller" and select "2 Turbo". Then turbo fire is provided by the buttons that you have mapped according to the following scheme: I, II (normal), III, IV (turbo 1 level), a...

By saying that you do not want to create duplicates but use the files that are already there, I presume that you want what is called symbolic links in Linux. The version of Linux that MiSTer uses has support for symbolic links with the ExFAT file system. I do not use WinSCP, but it should allow you to create symbolic links, see https://winscp.net/e...

Yes, Ogre Battle 64 is likely too large for your setup. As it says on the Github page, 32Mbyte SDRAM can only be used for games up to 24Mbyte in size.

The need of more RAM for the new N64 and Saturn cores finally made me decide to upgrade.

Re: Cannot Load .chd with CDZ Setting

OK, the issue is likely the copy protection on CDZ for some games. Try an older game like Andro Dunos and it should run. You can bypass the copy protection by using UniBIOS. You need however set the system to CDZ in UniBIOS settings. You can reach the settings by pressing Select at start up. After setting the system to CDZ, exit by pressing the C-b...
