Only a note. Deleted the download from the forum (no "illegal" content on the forum, isnt it?), but the files on mega (referenced on the first post) are still there. Download at your own risk :-)

Re: PDP2011 port to MiSTer FPGA

I want to express my gratitude to the author of this kernel! This is a job well done. The only thing I would like to see is ethernet which is brought to hps via the TAP interface in linux, but this will require a special driver. Good idea. I'll explore this way also. Is this it yet done on any core? The "driver" is done in PDP assembly. ...

Re: PDP2011 port to MiSTer FPGA

I want to think that omitting me from the template contributors was a mistake..... I don't have to ask. As I don't need the framework for this core. My mister has PS2 , VGA and sdcard. This was only a FREE try to have a mister PDP11 core. Bot don't worry. I'm going to delete this and change the port for de10nano.... I hope terasic is not going onto...

Re: PDP2011 port to MiSTer FPGA

Only the copyright holders for the program can legally release their software under these terms. You are not the copyright holder of either the framework or the PDP module. As everything i do (not only with non GPL. Also with GPL), I asked permission to the author. The author himself has a mister..... So i have writen permission to port it. If you...

Re: PDP2011 port to MiSTer FPGA

Stop the war in this thread (and if you want we can open another one)

You CAN mix non GPL with GPL. please read the GPL V3.

I know the mister framework is published under GPL. and i am sure you can mix licenses. Dont know why people thinks this cannot be done.

License: The copyrights to the VHDL described on this core are held by Sytse Van Slooten . In short, you are allowed to run the core for personal use, but you can not use it commercially. Isn't it using the GPL'd framework? If so, the whole work falls under the GPL, which explicitly prohibits imposing further restrictions. Systse can use wathever ...

The PDP2011 project includes a terminal core to interface to a VGA screen and PS2 keyboard. You can configure the terminal to be a vt100 or a vt105.

VGA and PS2 only, or HDMI and USB as well?

Changed, thanks. It support HDMI and VGA, but not 15khz rgb.... And the keyboard, yes. The standard USB keyboard.

No, no permissions problem. It was designed as s user program and seems nobody used it as a Daemon. In the past I remember have used it like that to give network to my use palm pilot.... But don't remember how.

I have slirp compiled on the mister, and works ok if I enter a shell on the machine and start slirp, but cannot start it on the serial port without being logged on that port. There is an environment variable for that. But seems it is not working.. 😠

Re: SLIP Support Request

can browse the internet with AO486 "as-is"? i needed some changes, but may be my old idea of slip. PPP is doing "proxyarp" so the machine is announcing the slip IP with the arp address of the ethernet. so i changed two things on the script. The 254 address (as it was my router) and added a static arp entry with the slip machine ...

PDP2011 port to MiSTer FPGA

PDP2011 port to MiSTer FPGA PDP2011 Overview This is a MiSTer port of PDP2011 – a re-creation of the well known series of PDP-11 computer systems in VHDL. Everything that is needed to run a PDP-11 system is included; you can run a complete Unibus PDP-11 system with console, disks and other peripherals on a simple low cost FPGA development board. T...

got routing....

changed the .254 to another IP.
added a static arp to the ip and the mac address from mister : arp -s 10.72.69.166 02:03:04:05:06:07
and permited routing on mister: sysctl net.ipv4.ip_forward=1

For point to point links, better use another class as they are only useful for routing.

Tested and works but..... 1-You are configuring SLIP as a point to point between the mister ethernet IP and the router... So when you connect you loose the default route on the mister... changed in uamode the ifconfig line to : ifconfig sl0 192.168.4.1 pointopoint 192.168.4.2 up and it worked...
