Re: MiSTer won't boot to menu core

Thanks mate. Yeah I've grabbed all my folders back off the card that way. Going to reset up now. Weird though, first time had any kind of problem with it in 18 months.

MiSTer won't boot to menu core

Not a newbie by any means but got a problem maybe somebody else has had. I don't generally mess with update_all, preferring to do most things manual but with the new Jotego distribution systemand the fact my arcade folder is in a bit of a mess I decided to delete all my arcade and run update_all to ...

Re: New distribution system for Jotego cores

I used to quite like faffing with all the beta stuff though. Made it seem as though I was getting something for my trouble. I don't use update all anyway. First time I did I didn't realise the name.txt was going to overwrite my own edited one and since then I like to be in control of what gets overw...

Re: New distribution system for Jotego cores

So this is piracy, but you have to pay for it, but the money goes to the wrong person? This is so weird to me… This kind of comment is pretty unhelpful within the scene. Supporting Jotego for his dev work is no more piracy than downloading any core surely? He's not sidling up to you in the playgrou...

Re: Atari ST HDD games image (save-states possible)

I think you can however use the HxC floppy emulator to convert .stx to HFE which will run on a Gotek. There are plenty of demos and games that were dumped to .stx, including, annoying the two I want :) Table 2 on this link https://hxc2001.com/docs/gotek-floppy-emulator-hxc-firmware/pages/emulation-f...

Re: Atari ST HDD games image (save-states possible)

Was it an ultrasatan you got? I'm a bit out of the loop these days. The two ST games I really wanna play from my childhood aren't on it unfortunately. Head Coach (can't play on the MiSTer from floppy either as they are .STX files and Pirates of the barbary Coast. Many happy hours spend on those too.

Out of interest, why do you want to disable the analogue?

No, still beta but work is progressing quickly. Josh posted out a roadmap for it this morning.

It's out. Works a treat now, also fixed Dangun and DDP after the last beta broke them.

Do you "need" a RTC board to do this? Could it not come straight from the pins on the Nano?

Valtric (Jaleco, 1986) - first arcade PCB I successfully fixed after somebody gave it to me. Great little shooter. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valtric

Shertz, sorry to hijack a bit, can you give me a list of the BBS you are trying to contact. I want to do this too. I used to be online in the 80s on my Amstrad.

Re: ao486 config for a plain old crt tv

Excellent. If you find any better modelines then please post them here. I have tried and tried so many, but only this one worked. I do think that, if we can "Tweak" the settings, maybe lower the refresh so it's slightly flickery - I would take a slightly flickery screen, but with more readable text...

Re: ao486 config for a plain old crt tv

Actually, everything is squashed into the middle third of the screen, but at least I get a picture now. Progress.

Update...oops had it on original aspect. Change to full screen and it's pretty much sorted. Just lose some text off the sides of the menu.

Re: ao486 config for a plain old crt tv

This works on my Sony CRT [ao486] vga_scaler=0 video_mode=640,6,56,66,224,14,8,18,12000 224 vertical res is a bit low, and causes some text in games a little hard to read. But it does work for me. Yay, this works on my 14" Panasonic. Thanks!! Menu etc is difficult to read but text in a couple of ga...
