Has anyone had an issue trying to run 7th Guest ? It starts to run but always stops with a critical error has occurred Same here. The MGL that is on archive has a typo in the path to the disc at the moment ("guestc" instead of "guest"). You just need to change this: <file delay="0" type="s" index="4&quo...

Re: 0MHz DOS Collection 2024.03.20 Released

Is there a "dummies guide" for adding other titles? I was all for setting up my own DOS collection but it's turned out to be more work than I had envisaged so thought I would try 0mhz instead. It's just missing a few titles I would like to include. It's not an exact step-by-step explaining every tiny bit of the process, but it should be ...

Re: 0MHz DOS Collection 2024.03.20 Released

Cool project. Any tuts on how to add your own games? Your are missing a few critical magazine hits. Depending on the game, you should be able to just do the following: 1) Make a copy of an existing 0MHz game folder with VHD and the associated MGL (NOTE: make sure the VHD you copy is big enough for the new game you're adding) (ANOTHER TIP: If addin...

Can someone else test doing a "Button/Key Remap" in Ultimate Doom? For some reason, I can't get Up/Down/Strafe Left/Strafe Right to map to my controller. Right/Left works fine and it seems like the other buttons work fine. Not having this issue in any other games so far? EDIT: After some further testing, I realized the Up/Down/Strafe Lef...

Re: 0MHz DOS Collection 2024.03.20 Released

Would it be possible to map controller inputs to keycodes so your pad acts like a faux keyboard? Yes, there is a setting in the core for this called something like "button/key remap for specific game". But as mentioned, by default this mapping will apply to everything across the whole core. Now, if you specify a <setname> in the MGL file...

Just a tip for configuring Joysticks/Controllers for anyone that doesn't know: If your joystick/controller isn't working in a game and the game options have no way to configure it, you can check for a separate setup program for the game by doing the following: 1) Exit the game back to the DOS prompt 2) In the DOS prompt, type in "dir" to ...

I might be missing something, but I'm only seeing 24 games 7th guest - Command & conquer, seems any after that alphabetically aren't in the list of zip files?

I think they are just updating the archives. I’m sure they’ll all be back soon, along with more titles.

Re: Using libdragon to compile hacks/homebrew?

Update: I used the latest builds for the Commander Keen port from here: https://github.com/Ryzee119/Omnispeak64/releases and they exhibit the same behavior as my builds. They work on real hardware, but not the MiSTer. I’m guessing the issue could just be something to do with the latest release of libdragon. The previous release of this Commander Ke...

Using libdragon to compile hacks/homebrew?

This could be a bit of a longshot, but thought I’d ask… I’ve recently discovered some romhacks/homebrew for N64 listed here: https://n64squid.com/ For some of these, you have to compile them from source (such as Wolfenstein 64, Commander Keen, and Five Nights at Freddy’s), so I decided to give it a whirl! I installed WSL for my Windows PC, installe...

Re: Mega Drive/Genesis Confused About Multiplayer

Hmmm, I know with my Daemonbites, I renamed the controller ID in the daemonbite code before I flashed my adapters (i.e. named one P1 and the other P2). As far as I know, all that does is allow you to map two of the same controllers differently, though. I would think it should just “work” as is without doing that.

An SD card attached via a Micro SD card reader works well if you just want to tack on a little extra storage. Having just switched to an SSD connected via USB, I can’t recommend that enough.

That's why i never use CHD compressed stuff. There are always some kind of sound/music/sync issues that you notice later ingame.

Oh yeah? Hmmm, It’s definitely not something I recall seeing a lot of people say..maybe there are a lot more posts about this…

Have you used these controllers with your MiSTer in the past? I’d try clearing out the controller config files for any that you’ve used in the past and then try redefining them all.

I would never delete the old Genesis Core. It e.g. supports overclocking which helps a lot in games with massive slowdowns.

Same for me! I am just leaving it on mine for posterity. I might move it to a “deprecated” folder or something.

This game still doesn’t work on SNES Core in August 2023.

It’s a shame because it’s graphically one the best looking SNES games.

Well, it doesn’t work if you use an unpatched rom, but if you apply the patch linked further up in the thread on github then it works fine. It’s not ideal, but you can definitely play the game on the core.

Does mapping space button on a regular keyboard to "Coin" work? If not, I would try deleting your config files for the core you're mapping and try again. Also, you might want to map that button in the main MiSTer menu before entering a core. I would think since it's just a single button that you could map it to whatever you want in the ma...

Thank you. It's a little weird that psx has save states but not the mega drive. I think it's more a matter of space on the fpga. It’s because FPGAzumspass wrote that core and he started writing that core with save states in mind from the beginning, as he does with all of his cores. It’s much easier to add save states to a core if you write the cor...

Ok, I tested Arkanoid II and had no issue with it. I can confirm the issue with Gall Force, though. The game pauses every couple of seconds. You can unpause by pressing Start twice and the game will start again, but it pauses again after a couple seconds. Both roms have NES2.0 headers. Edit: Actually, Gall Force is FDS, so maybe not?
