Re: Saturn
Why don't you lend a hand to make it better then? You seem to know all about it's issues.. Like the Linux kernel, MAME rejects almost all patches that come from outside their small group. MAME has grown so monolithic that patching the sound to work in one game will break behavior in 50 others. MAME...

Re: First Q*Bert Release
Yeah, 8:7 looks perfect to me, I did a custom aspect ratio for the qbert core personally by adding something like this to the MiSTer.ini (can't remember and not being bothered to check atm): [qbert] custom_aspect_ratio=8:7 And it looked exactly like the arcade picture I posted above. For reference, ...

Re: Loud popping sound though analog audio port
Maybe switch to mini-TOSLINK and see if the audio problem persists. If you are using an analog I/O board, that same 3.5mm jack is simultaneously a mini-TOSLINK optical jack. So you could test it by getting a mini-TOSLINK to TOSLINK cable and getting a DAC from Amazon or something (or test on a TV/s...

Re: User Button on IO Board
usually arcade cores, If I am playing a cps1 game and then change to any other core without reseting, the screen gets messy and sound without sync dodonpachi also is a good example That sounds like an issue to be raised on their repositories to me. I've used those cores plenty of times though and n...

Re: Super Mario Bros Demo Out of Sync
Watching the videos, yup this is expected and happens on original hardware.
Also the videos aren't great examples as they both appear to be from different software emulators I think. At least the first one is (it's from FCEUX, but thankfully FCEUX is highly accurate at least).

Re: Finally jumping in. Is there a ‘best’ 128MB module to order?
Personally, I'd avoid eBay. I've gotten them from MiSTerAddons.com and from MiSTerFPGA.co.uk before and they've both worked just fine and passed the intensive Jotego memory tests.

Re: First Q*Bert Release
Looks like the aspect ratio got fixed already! :) Somehow the new aspect ratio looks a bit too slim, I wonder what it is based on. The 8:9 ratio I calculated to get integer horizontal scaling is a little bit wider and IMO better looking. The aspect ratio of games like this are 8:7 and 4:3 typically...

Something is different with your files. I have the Darksoft Neo Geo set, and when you zip up AOF2, it's 11.4MB, not 12.6MB.

The beauty of this project is... even though you don't have the ability now, you can learn how to! Download and install Quartus 17.0.x lite, it's free. Download and install a good code editor (I use Visual Studio Code personally) as well. Then go take a look at alanswx's MiSTer Tutorials --> https:/...

Re: New MiSTer Owner Help Setting Up
In my experience this depends on a lot of different factors. If you are using the stock power supply from the DE10-Nano and a usb hub addon board you will often run into an issue where you are undervolting something among these. That can cause issues. Is this a common problem? I recently switched f...

Re: Show Us Your MiSTers
Because essential parts of MiSTer devoured all my spare money, I have decided to try to make a case from junk found around my basement. It should not be that hard, right? Wrong! I will never be a carpenter  At least it keeps my cats from chewing cables and munching on unprotected PCBs. Baby s...

I just tested it out and I'd like to report a bug, I can't see all of the pixels that I should be able to see!

Guys, a little help please. I've downloaded and run Ranny's script, which has created a folder with wallpapers on my SD card. In the wallpapers.ini I have tried both settings (true and false), but no matter what, when I boot my MiSTer it's the default rainbow background. I don't have a keyboard unf...

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.medion.android.keyboard&hl=en_US&gl=US There are apps for android for instance that allow you to use your android device as a keyboard over USB. Re: Retro Arch coming to DE10-Nano this year
I saw the message from Boogermann floating around on Twitter from Discord. Boogerman was specifically mentioned by libretro on their blog post: "I swear to you, if all that FPGA supremacy keeps going on that level, I'm gonna dump every fucking software I can make it run on MiSTer and use years of S...

1. Yeah, personally, just get the Digital I/O. Here's a great comparison --> https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=7186#p7186 -- As you can see, the VGA out, SoG Switch are just for CRT's (and you can use a Direct Video HDMI to VGA adapter to do CRT's regardless if you ever change your mind), so th...

Re: New MiSTer Owner Help Setting Up
Made some progress... I found a Youtube video that was specific to NEO GEO and was able to walk my way through it. Seems to work well. My SNES isn’t working anymore. I get a blank screen when I select a game. I’m not sure what is happening there. Here are my next objectives: How do I control the me...

Re: USB hub damage
You can always try resoldering on the usb hub board, nothing to lose there since it's not working anyways. If it doesn't work and it's just the bottom micro usb that is messed up, then you could try getting the different kind of adapter that plugs into the headers on the USB hub as a replacement -->...
