Audio is critical for me so this is an advantage that an old CRT doesn't provide anything to me. The smooth scrolling on the scaler is pretty much unmatched given the amount of options you get with it outside of maybe 1 super expensive external scaler.

Tested out a bunch (but not all), I only ran into one issue. Albion doesn't load directly into the game, the CD mount isn't detected.
EDIT: Worms also wouldn't launch, it did not detect dos4gw.exe or maybe the version is wrong for it.

What's better will depend on what you find out when you test it. Even from just one tv model to the next it can differ.
The newer version of the MiSTerAddons case should at least prevent the microSD card from falling in which is good. I use precision tweezers to get the microsd card out of mine, and yeah I just use ssh and SMB to administer the files on the card if needed.
