The Domesday Duplicator / ld-decode projects may beg to differ. :)
That neat! Still, it's acting to assist as part of capture, it's not playing the role of laserdisc LOL

Re: RDI Halcyon Laserdisc Game System Prototype

Of course, there's not a thing FPGA can do to recreate a laserdisc, which is kind of the meat-and-potatoes part here. The controller hardly calls for it, as there's a LOT of slop in response time (see: DAPHNE).

I will agree that Ben is a badass. :)

The burning question - are they NTSC/PAL compatible or (mostly) PAL-only?

I've had a bit of difficulty with absolute cardinal directions on the analog stick (Karateka for example), but for the most part it's worked as expected.

Yeah, the lack of write support sucks. I wanna LOGO. :P

Re: MiSTer ao486 developers

Ultrasound - not sure it'd be all that consuming from an FPGA point of view, because the hardware itself was fairly minimalist - for example, the waveform generator for the MIDI engine was largely software-based (i.e. soundfonts). Ensoniq AudioPCI would actually be harder, and AWE *much* harder. FPU...

Re: Freesync?

I have a FreeSync/G-Sync Compatible monitor (LG 27GL83A-B) and it's worked fine with MiSTer at 1920x1440, with or without Adaptive Sync enabled. It does drop out for a second or two after starting up a game with vsync_adjust=2 enabled, presumably due to the refresh rate switch. It would be nice if ...

I've yet to see a confirmed thermally-related issue on MiSTer, with or without heatsink or fan. Thermal controls for the DE10 appear to be a solution in search of a problem.

Indeed! And most importantly, _with write support_ (at least on the floppy side). Far too many cores lack that which diminishes the experience a lot.

Let me know if anyone has found a way to get the player 2 controls to work as player 2 on MiSTer. For me, they act like a second set of Player 1 inputs.

Re: Left side of core image get cut off

I think one of the reasons for this is that when border masking is applied, the image is shifted left by the amount of left-side masking done rather than being left in place and just overlaid by the blanked part of the image.

WAY back - apologies, I said Sound Canvas entirely inappropriately, I was (of course) referring to the CM32-L. Very very different things - sorry about that!

MUNT can absolutely do a full Sound Canvas. Whether the way MiSTer uses it supports that is a different question.

Re: Sponsoring RTG support

I truly have no idea what we're even discussing anymore. To wit: - If you put the CPU on ARM, slow/fast RAM will be on ARM and chip will be in FPGA. You're aware they are very different (physical on-die) memory subsystems on the DE10, yes? - I NEVER disputed someone would port uaegfx to MiSTer. It w...

Re: Sponsoring RTG support

Well, I would love to learn how AmigaDOS at very base level depends on the Amiga chipset (I am curious since TRIPOS which AmigaDOS derive from, doesn’t depend on it), and how P96 need to mirror chipram for Workbench, especially since P96 also work on “clone systems” (like the mentioned Draco) that ...

No, I understand it quite perfectly, but I'm not quite so convinced you do. *laughs* This reminds me very much of the folks on Reddit who seem prepared to start offering a sizable bounty to get VLC ported to the DE10 because...well, because. It's utterly, completely pointless nonsense as anything ot...

Re: Sponsoring RTG support

Oh dear word no. The ARM side is nowhere near fast enough to provide satisfaction. Really, 800MHz Cortex-A9 is not that much different than the 900MHz Cortex-A7 in Raspberry Pi 2, right? The Pi 2 can't do it, either. A Pi 4 is nice, a 3B+ is adequate, anything less isn't getting it done. It MIGHT b...

Re: Sponsoring RTG support

I think the concern here isn't about "purity" as such, more that there are already situations where input responsiveness (which is one of the Amiga's defining characteristics) is slightly compromised - such as during disk access. I don't imagine it will be an insurmountable problem, but certainly s...

Re: SSH and FTP stopped working

It's also possible that DHCP plays a role here. A few time, my router has given out a *different* IP to the MiSTer than it had, but the dynamic DNS entry for it still had the original IP, making it look like it lost connectivity (when all it really did was change addresses). Being able to look up de...

There's also a port of this game on the Neo Geo Good to know, I guess that would be pretty faithful to the original. Why couldn't it be an overscan issue? If the display is 1:1 and the output assumes overscan, that's exactly what it'd look like.
