Thanks @jordi, that stuff was useful. I've made a bunch of fixes to the host interface and timers. Oplclone is now passing and generating a sine wave. Day of the Tentacle works and sounds great! Doom does not--just silence. I suspect there's something going on with the OPL detection in that game. Looks like there's some code in master that fires o...

Guys, I’ve got a fairly cheap N64 USB controller which works fine apart from the Start button which despite defining in the core, it brings up the MiSTer menu each time I press it as if I’m pressing F12 on my keyboard. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Some controller have operation mode. You might select x-input mode

Do you have the manual?

RF is always fuzzy.

I've seen some videos on youtube of people modding TVs by directly wiring composite video input to RF modulator circuit output.

Found a few schematics for old Apple stuff here: https://tinkerdifferent.com/resources/ Oh, it might help fixing core sound fx? I've recently obtained a MiSTer and think it's fantastic. Started with consoles but have been playing around with the A0486 core since I discovered it was a thing as I cut my teeth on DOS gaming. I managed to install the Top 300 DOS games pack and noticed that one of my favourite childhood games is there - One Must Fall 2097. Unfortunately it keep...

I do have perfect experience with 2.5, except in Sega rally, which frequently loses audio parts. Fx, engine, music

But I guess it's a matter of a more stable core

I use an Ultimate USB and an Ultimate Bluetooth and they both get rumble in for ex. the N64 core. I had to select the rumble pak option in the N64 core settings. Not sure if there's anything specifically different about the Ultimate "C" that would cause a problem (I assume you're keeping the MiSTer updated to recent versions of everythin...

Yep the issue about Mac+ core is that also fails to deliver low level access to DAC, so lode runner just clicks once on the first sound and nothing else.

Re: Mac Basilisk II

Vmac could be the missing gap while someone fixes the core (no hope). It just misses libX11.so.6 to run. You can get around that problem by using the libX11.so.6 from the BasiliskII install. vMac runs really well on MiSTer... to use low level acccess to generate sounds. Mini vmac, emulates older macs by simulating the chips, instead. vMac.tar.gz t...

Curious if the extra Lode Runner sounds work on a stock Macintosh Plus config in MAME. We are 100% sure the sounds should work on Macintosh Plus hardware, yes? It's not something that only worked on a 128K/512K? From what I read on mini vmac: Basilisk hacks rom access instead of emulating devices. Such old games tend to use low level acccess to ge...
