Great, thanks for that. Don't suppose you know if there is a link to the latest archive for the preserved Atari disks ?
The last version I managed to grab was from 2018-6-21.

Did you mean a screen protector with an oleophobic coating? Or was it an actual spray/liquid coating that you treated the screen with? A liquid oleophobic applied directly. I've seen almost nothing with fingerprint issues like this screen. It almost sucks them off your fingers from a distance, and then it's intensely annoying to clean once you acc...

I tried one of the U shaped microUSB connectors linked and it does not work. It will not power the display properly no matter what power source or cable is used.

I did get around to applying an oleophobic coating to the display and that worked perfectly :)

That is the exact flight stick I use with my real retro pc (courtesy of https://github.com/dekuNukem/USB4VC) and with my emulation NUC / DOSBox.

I've also used it with MiSTer (now that MiSTer correctly recognizes 2 controllers/2 axis) but the extremely unfortunate inability to save custom keybinds puts a huge damper on usage there...

Therein lies the problem approaching it from that end. A bespoke D9 firmware that a) doesn't work like real paddles do and b) isn't compatible with anything else because of a) isn't appealing.

Real Atari paddle support via the first paddle only currently works with the core and a D9, it does work well however.

For paddles, I prefer to use the real paddles. I have a 2600daptor D9 that will covert real controllers to USB joysticks, so they might work. I think one paddle goes up and down and the other goes left and right and each has a button all showing up as one analog joystick. Same, and I also use a D9. It used to work quite well (though with fiddly se...

C64 Disk writing, D64 image size / corruption issue?

Has anyone had any issue with a D64 becoming larger than it ever should with something that writes to disk? I was playing Autoduel a bit on the core (which writes fairly frequently to disk to save/update your character) and went to load the same D64 images in Vice and it refused to mount the second disk. Looking at the size of the second image it h...

I've noticed that the VHD has to be mounted/Shift F10 every time the core is loaded. I get an 'ERROR 102' trying Shift F10 after core load (with the vhd mount config saved) I've been able to get to the main menu of the VHD image and load some things from the commercial category, some things throw disk faults. Not sure if there's any pattern. VHD is...

IMHO the best route to an ideal scenario is to get a good gameport to usb converter (I believe McGyver is designing one) and work towards adding a second analog stick to the mister framework. Then all four axes and buttons will work with no downsides. Having the second analog stick added to the framework would indeed be ideal. That way for using o...

Yeah a throttle is almost a necessity for a good flight sim experience. Even support for something like the Gravis Analog Pro (3 axes, 4 buttons) would be great.

As I said above, I mounted the .vhd inside the Steem emulator in windows to do the file transfers for the image I built. You can also setup Steem to mount a local directory on your PC as a second hard drive for easy transfer. The same can be done in linux with Hatari. Also if you have an ST SD image for MiST, you should be able to use it with MiSTe...
