Re: Wishlist of Cores You Would Like to See in the Future

I would love to have a core for the EPSON QX-10.
It's a great computer from the 80´ that runs CP/M.

I love the display with a nice font.

I got mine a 100 euro less, but that was 5-6 years ago. 352 in stock now.

Re: Ultimate SID Collection (As Background Music)

Yes I know, but why wouldn't put the orginal sid files, this wouldn't take much place. About 15MB at most.

The collection is great. But it's too bad that the files provided doesn't contain sid files.

Re: What Is the Minimum Number of Buttons Needed for Most Arcade Cores?

I would say that the minimum of button needed is one. With one button, you can play most of the games on most of the cores.
With zero buttons, you can't play.

Re: Irem M72 Core on HDMI

Thanks a lot. That was the problem, I had vsync_adjust=1. I did what you suggested and set the refresh rate to 60 in the core and then put back vsync_adjust to 1.
Now it works fine at 60 hz.

Irem M72 Core on HDMI

Did anyone manage to get irem M72 work to work on HDMI using the scaler? All I get is 2 or 3 bright lines on the screen but the game starts, I can hear the sound. I tried different games such as r-type and r-type II and got the same the result. The osd isn't available once the core is launched, or at least it doesn't show because of the display pro...

Re: How to Monitor update_all Changes?

It would be nice if we had the choice to choose which updates we want. This could be done by a flag in the settings before the updater runs. And if it is set, the downloaded would display all the new files about to be updated/installed and we could choose the files we don't want to be updated.

Re: New computer core to be ported on DE10 : Rockwell AIM65

I don't think it's inappropriate, what is inappropriate is the title.
The title makes you think that there is a new core for the mister.
The title should be something like : new core to port to the mister : AIM65
And maybe it should be in the "Development for the Mister" sub-forum.

I managed to solve the problem by mapping an unused key (calculator key) to the RightAlt key.
Now I know about key ghosting and key jamming.

Reset shortcut not working

I replaced my keyboard with another one and now, the combo LeftShit-LeftCrtl-LeftAlt-RightAlt doesn't work anymore. The shortcut LeftCrtl-LeftAlt-RightAlt doesn't work either. I tested the old keyboard and the new keyboard with showkey and I see that whith the new keyboard, the key(100).pressed is not triggered when I press the right alt key. I jus...

Re: Advice about PVMs

I agree with all that have been written in this post. Pvm are great but only if you find a flawless device and at a decent price. I got my 14" pvm for about 80€. I think it's far better to find some 21" Sony trinitron like the kv21fxXX models. You can find those at less than 20€ and sometimes even for free. And the image quality is almost...

On ao486, you get the mister menu by pressing win-f12. F12 is treated as f12 by the ao486 core.

Thanks for your explanation. That's was I was suspecting. When I see lots of *, that means there is trouble downloading data. I will first try with Ethernet and see if it's better. I also checked a tmpxxxxx file in /tmp that contains more information about the downloading and I saw several times a problem with bad hash between the file downloaded a...

Update_all script

When I launch update_all script, it sometimes takes ages to download files, for some files, it starts displaying dots and stars and then it takes a long time to go to next file. I don't think it's actually doing something when it displays dots and stars. For instance today, I launched update_all and selected only wall papers. It started by telling ...

I think that you can switch from one mister uni to another using the buttons from the io board.
Try this : press osd to get the osd and then press both the reset button and the user button.

Re: 9.7" iPad Retina Screen Perfect for MiSTer, $60 Fully Assembled 😄

No, I didn't succeed. In fact I made a mistake in my previous message, I ordered a glass for an iPad Air 4, and there is no hole in the glass. However I didn't manage to cut the glass, I used a glass cutter like this : https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/c1e066a6-5336-456a-86fa-0a24becc43f2_1.88038039d4bd6c5d6ae2d321564b7d67.jpeg But the glass is too ...

Lisa was not the predecessor of the Macintosh.
The Lisa project and the Macintosh projet were two separate projets. They have nothing in common. The Lisa project was already going on when the Macintosh project started. But that's all.

Re: Just Starting Out With MiSTer Some Basic Questions?

The amiga core is called minimig. The second sdcard isn't necessary, it can be used by some core but I don't know which. You can remove the sdcard using a toothpick and push it slightly, it will get out. But there is no need to take it off. You can upload al the roms using the network. Look in the script lists to see if you have a script call "...

I bought a version with vga/hdmi from here : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001689746001.html The driver board was V.M56VDA and the display woudn't diplay a 50Hz signal, neither in vga nor in hdmi. Re: MiSTer Doesn't Power Up

Last month I almost broke my mister. I connected a 12 V psu instead of the 5V psu. I had both in the same place and didn't notice I took the wrong one. When I plugged the power cord, the mister started and stopped after a split second. I removed the power and connected it again and same behaviour. Only then I noticed that I had used the wrong psu. ...

I finally managed to pair my ps3 controller with the mister. You don't have to invoke the pairing procedure (F11). All you have to do is : Connect the ps3 controller with a cable, it should then be recognized and working, one led is on. Display the system menu on the mister (F12) Disconnect the cable from the controller, the leds should start blink...

Re: All ROM Sets Are in 7zip Format, Why?

I agree with the fact that it is not necessary. If you put aside the fact that you have to implement it, debug it and maintain it. I don't think that the extra KB you save using 7z instead of zip is worth the extra time it would take to run a rom inside a 7z instead of a zip file. Some people even prefer not using zip at all just because of the ext...
