Interesting ... It looks like only Mega Man X2 and Mega Man X3 used the CX4 chip?

Does Mega Man X2 also not originally have an SRAM chip?

Re: Have we reached perfection?

Does anybody know if anything is missing to support TAS playback using playback devices? (ie. TAStm32, etc) I believe that some of the people on discord (Rysha?) mentioned the NES and SNES cores are missing support for some controller data lines? If so, does anybody know if these will be added? Also, has any progress been made on 5x integer scaling?

Re: Mega Man X3 Zero Project 4.1 save issue.

I'm curious about this as well. What part(s) aren't implemented for this to work correctly in MiSTer? It sounds like the original Mega Man X3 Zero Project cartridge used a Cx4 chip but didn't include SRAM (because it didn't support saves). Is there something in the SNES header that tells MiSTer what chip(s) are present? Can we just add an SRAM flag...

USB Hub v2.1 - Compatible USB ports (USB1-7, J2) in USA? (Mouser/Digikey)

Hey guys ... Does anybody know of compatible parts from Mouser/Digikey for the USB Hub v2.1 USB ports? (USB1 to USB7, J2, and J1). I've ordered several kits from LegacyPixels and they worked great. (he's absolutely fantastic... great prices, quick shipping, answered all my annoying questions!) ...but I'm placing an order from Mouser for other thing...

What's the best/cleanest way to add pull-up resistors to user port on I/O board v5.5?

Does anybody have any suggestions or pictures of the best/cleanest way to add the pull-up resistors to the user port on the I/O board v5.5? I know you just need to add 10k resistors from VCC to each user port pin, but I'm wondering where it's best to place them on the board? Please let me know if I did it correctly: xbYNEDR.jpg P7 - Pin 1, 2, 4, 5,...

I figured out the problem. It was bad solder joints. It's working perfectly now and I'm really sorry for posting this, but hopefully if somebody else has the same problem they will know it's most likely solder-related.

Re: Why does YPbPr look extremely blue? External RGBHV to Component looks fine? (pictures inside)

The jumper for the VGA port is it set to 3.3v or 5v or is it not set to either? I think sorgelig suggests by default that jumper to be clear if you are doing YPbPr, but can't remember completely. The jumper isn't populated. EDIT: The MisterAddons cable looks really nice and thick. The one from Amazon is pretty thin... MisterAddons looks like this ...

Why does YPbPr look extremely blue? External RGBHV to Component looks fine? (pictures inside)

I'm using an I/O board v6.1 and I'm trying to use YPbPr but the picture is extremely blue on my CRT TV. I've purchased a VGA 15-pin to 3 RCA cable from Amazon and I've enabled [ypbpr=1] in the MiSTer.ini file. I also had to set the SOG switch to [ON], but this is the picture: LtISON5m.jpg However, if I disable YPbPr and use a standard VGA cable wit...

Arcade joystick and buttons on different HID devices - Can I assign both to a single player?

In my arcade cabinet I have UltraStik360 joysticks which are USB devices. However, the arcade buttons are using a DaemonBite encoder so they are a different USB device. Is it possible to use these two different USB devices for a single player? When I start to configure the MiSTer buttons and use the UltraStik, it won't let me use the DaemonBite but...

Re: DE10-Nano GPIO17 (reset) - Internal pull-up resistor activated? Touching with screwdriver resets the board?

I've added the resistor and it worked ... until I put the MiSTer into my arcade cabinet so it only half-solved the problem. Some folks have told it might be A/C signal coupled into the line? If so, is there anything else I can do to solve that? EDIT: I tried a 4.7k resistor as well but it didn't help. EDIT2: I've added a 0.1uf capacitor between GPI...

DE10-Nano GPIO17 (reset) - Internal pull-up resistor activated? Touching with screwdriver resets the board?

I was having problems with my I/O board but I've now isolated the issue to the DE10-Nano itself. I have no add-ons boards connected except for the SDRAM-XSD (v2.4, 128MB). If I touch a screwdriver to GPIO17 (PIN_AG23), the MiSTer will reset. The other button pins (GPIO13 / 15, user / osd) do NOT activate when touched by a screwdriver. I first disco...

How accurate are spinner controls in Arkanoid/Pong, etc? (ie. sensitivity, velocity, speed, etc)

I have a custom arcade cabinet that uses both a spinner and trackball with MAME (and an Ultimarc "Opti-PAC" to connect it to the PC). However, MAME has lots of different settings to control the spinner so there is really no idea how accurate your settings are compared to the real arcade. How do spinners work with MiSTer in Arkanoid, Pong,...

128MB SDRAM - Possible to solder/install and test one module at a time?

It's a little tricky to solder the SDRAM XS-D SDRAM modules, so I was wondering if you could solder one module at a time and run memtest to see if it soldered correctly?

If it tested OK, you could then solder the second module and if any errors occured you would know which module needed to be resoldered/fixed.

Does multiple USB devices with 1ms polling slow down the MiSTer?

Is there a limit to how many devices the MiSTer can support even if they are all using USB at 1ms polling?

For example, if you have four players each using a DaemonBite USB encoder, does that cause any issues?

I'm not quite sure how of the MiSTer architecture, but I think the Linux part of the device handles the USB so has anybody tested this?

Thanks so much for the explanation! Does vsync_adjust also affect this? I was told that Pinball Dreams is a perfect game to test because it supposedly uses mode 13h and 70 Hz. It also scrolls the pinball tables so you can see immediately how smooth the scrolling is. I've also just downloaded the new ao486 core (released a few minutes ago) and here ...

Great information. Thanks so much!

I'm wondering if mode 13h was popular because it allowed 256 colors (8bpp) and the others only allowed 16 (4bpp)? (source: Wikipedia)

There also appears to be a crazy "Mode X" for 320x240x8 for a bit higher resolution but lower refresh rate (60 Hz).

Very interesting stuff...

Possible to display video info (resolution/refresh) after core is loaded?

You can define the amount of time the video info is displayed (video_info from ini), but after a core is loaded is it possible to display the information again?

It would be nice to press 'i' or similar to display the input/output video_info at any time?

Please let me know if its already possible.

Thanks for the reply! I was around in the 1980s and my first PC was a 386 but when you had a CRT you didn't have to worry/think about any of this. What is the difference between VGA, SVGA, and VESA? If I understand correctly, they are all different video standards. VGA typically allows up to 640x480 and SVGA is up to 1024x760 (768). VESA is the sam...

Do they actually force 60 Hz for the games so they don't have judder? ...or does that cause the games to run differently, etc?
