Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

Is there a way to run from the device itself? Or is it just off the pc? I already got my pc hooked up to the tv. No need for me to do all that. PC had groovy mame for more then a decade. I dont have a PC hooked to the CRT.. Last time i did that was in 1996 with a Ati 3D XPRESSION+ PC2TV I have an AMD R9 280x laying over there.. but i dont want to ...

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

I finally got it to work and it's VERY nice. Maybe it's me but the games i couldnt play before (City Connection, Star Force, and many others..) look better on Groovy Mister than on a RPi4 with RGBpi hat. I guess the stuttering in games like Virtua Racing (sometimes it shows fine, sometimes it stutters) it's about the network not being able to deal ...

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

In my opinion, projects like this and almost anything else someone comes up with are absolutely welcome. In this particular case, it is a major accomplishment for passionate CRT owners. If you are not a CRT owner or only want MiSTer things to be completely self contained, this project isn't hurting you, just don't use it. Another example I would s...

Re: Kung-Fu Master Core

I had some free time this weekend so I decided to take a look at the core and see if I can figure anything out. I came up with what I would call a hack job because I couldn't get enough information to do it the way the hardware does...even MAME does it a...different way. While looking into the core, I also noticed that sprites were off by a few li...

I really hope that Anton remember to fix the escalator glitch (vertical offset issue with the sprite line buffer) in the mister core. He mentioned it as fixed for the A.Pocket, but never said anything else on the mister side (afaik)..

Re: N64 Core

Dunno what happened, but i was using the core with no problems (latest build for the core, latest nightly for mister main).. and now i only get a underdash character in the middle of a black screen. If I press F12 and "left, up, up" I can blindly exit the core to the mister main menu, so it seems the N64 is loading, but i get no display. ...

Re: Saturn Core Does Not Launch Games

I don't think the boot.rom is part of update_all yet; the core was asking for a bios when I tried the official launch version just now. Also, a lot of games weren't booting for me. Only game that launched was Salamander Deluxe Pack, but on a CRT it was skewed over to the left side of the screen. Yes, it had been skewed to the left for many revisio...

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

In Elevator Action Returns (JP), at the beginning of the first stage when you get a few floors down the building explodes a helicopter shows up. In my use of the core the audio gets distorted for several seconds. Same thing happens in stage two when you get outside (on top) of the terminal. Does this happen to anyone else? I've tried two different...

I hope we can use the USA bios/animation soon. And centering options for CRTs would come handy too. ...

Re: Are You Going to Re-Configure Your MiSTer Setup for Dual RAM?

No.
I even have the slot free as my setup was always meant for Directvideo.
But buying another ram stick just for one or two arcade cores.. no thanks.
I'll consider the dual ram setup only if needed for console cores. Not for just one game.

Re: Wishlist of Cores You Would Like to See in the Future

I wish a core for Tehkan's STAR FORCE would be on the making.. I thought as it is "similar" to Bomb Jack it could be made easier, but no luck so far.

Jaleco's CITY CONNECTION would definite sound great in a miSTer core.

Thanks @antongale! Awesome work!!

I got everything from update_all (although it wasnt available earlier)

Elevator Action works fine. The sound is perfect. I never heard the tunes like this, even emulating on a high-end pc.

There are some gfxs glitches on directvideo mode, which i dont remember seeing in the tweeter previews from AntonGale.

Loaded in my New Astro City cabinet through Jamma Expander TwinBee defaults to 15khz so you have a good image. Many games start at 30khz and you have to press a key (HELP key in most cases) to show 15khz mode. https://gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=x68000:game_notes Even having a keyboard you have to map the "x68k HELP" key to any of the ke...

Some games require the user to hit the HELP key or the key to the "left" of the HELP key to setup MIDI. https://bitchinbits.foolproofdesigns.com/x68000/x68000-game-settings/ Here is the SHARP keyboard layout and you can see the HELP key in top right. https://docs.libretro.com/library/px68k/ I have the standard 104-key US QWERYT keyboard....

Re: How to hit the HELP key or key to "left" of HELP key for MIDI support?

Does anyone know how to hit this key on the keyboard? I have seen some users suggest using the "virtual" keyboard by right mouse clicking but I have tried 5 different mice and none of them show a virtual keyboard when I right click (second mouse button?). It works for me, but only in the OS, not games. Though, I use CRT modelines for gam...

I'm getting some accessories for my DE-10 Nano tomorrow so I can finally set it up as a MiSTer, and I was wondering about the best composite solution. I have a CRT that only accepts composite and RF, and I lack the knowledge to mod it for RGB or component or S-Video or whatever. I want to know if I should use the composite cores, or get a VGA to c...

Re: Next Core vs Spectrum Core Question?

@CartoonDonkey just gotta ask. How do you deal with all the key mappings? I built and N-Go for two reasons. 1. Being an American I didn't get to experience the Speccy in my youth (80's) and I'm always curious about different systems. 2. The keyboard mappings has just killed the experience trying to get something done on emulators. So I gave up and...

Flip 180deg is nice to have. Not nice to phisically flip a TATEd CRT.

But forget about 90deg rotations. Devs already said that it would introduce lag.

Neither of those cores are 15khz natively so unfortunately won’t work. X68000 has switchable 15khz modes that you can get at once you’re into a game that supports. OP, excuse the offtopic.. @dazzer69 the hard part is mapping the corresponding x68k key to the pc keyboard. I know Star Force has a native 15khz mode when pressing the HELP key on a x68...
