Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

I still can't tell the difference between unstable cores from here: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Saturn_MiSTer/commits/main/ I know the hex at the end of the filename corresponds to a github commit, but when I look at the shortnames for the commits, none of the IDs ever seem to match. What am I missing? Hmm... You can find the output on the bui...

Re: N64 Core

Anyone have an issue with Turok 1 (Rev 2) (MD5 039875b92c0e4fef9797ec1744877b17) not loading if the Pad 1 Type is set to 'ControllerPak' on game boot? As soon as I change the Pad 1 Type to something else and hit Reset, it loads right up. Didn't see this mentioned here and the Vampier spreadsheet says it's 'Playable' (it is) but with no notes about ...

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

I see on srg320's Twitter there's a note that the 20230922 update has "Fix bios loading." I wanted to see if the boot.bin quirk was fixed, so I renamed it back to boot.rom. Tada! No more manually loading the bios. No more "BIOS NOT FOUND" error. Just boot the core with the boot.rom file in the Saturn directory again, and start g...

Re: Are You Going to Re-Configure Your MiSTer Setup for Dual RAM?

I'm also confused by the dual SDRAM "requirements" of late... I've only done small core tweaks to try and understand how this all works - I'm no dev. I understand the dual SDRAM is required for bandwidth, however we have geniuses like FPGAzumSpass and Jotego who can tinker and make everything work on single SDRAM... from the outside, as a...

im in the boat of lets get something "as good as" current software emulation (with the added benefit of no input lag, original refresh rate, and no sound latency) and use what MAME has, and then make updates with the real chips as they get traced Getting the CPS3 was a stretch anyway. Re: IREM M72 & M84 Core (R-Type, R-Type II, Image Fight, Ninja Spirit, Gallop : Armed Police Unit)

You'll need to grab the 'Gallop' and 'Cosmic Cop' MAME roms, then Line 22 in the Gallop MRA needs to be changed to the following to work correctly:

Code: Select all

<rom index="0" zip="gallop.zip|cosmccop.zip" md5="none">
I would correct this, but I'm not sure how to contribute in GitHub.

Itoi Shigesato no Bass Tsuir No. 1 not working (black screen)

This is an interesting one. I've never come across a rom I couldn't load. I can't seem to play Shigesato Itoi's No. 1 Bass Fishing. Just opens the rom to a black screen.

Can anyone confirm?

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

i think there's a problem with the repo. During the build process, there are some relative paths to seem to leave the project folder. For example: Yes. You need to grab the 'Saturn' repo and the 'SH' repo. Saturn: https://github.com/srg320/Saturn SH: https://github.com/srg320/SH Put them in the folder above the Saturn-mister, and start your build....

Jotego "Old TV" option gone

Looks like the latest Shadow Mask update has removed the "Old TV" option from some of Jotego's arcade cores. I'll miss that feature. So much nostalgia! Same reason I love having the composite blend on the Genesis core. :)

Any suggestions for filters & shadow mask combos to achieve a similar look?

Thanks!

Does anyone know what the 登録 key is mapped to?

The 登録 key on the X68000 keyboard is often used to toggle on MIDI mode in games (hold the button while the game is booting). It's right next to the 'HELP' button the X68000 keyboard.

How to run updateboot?

In one of the latest Linux updates, Sorg mentioned to run "updateboot" if you updated directly on the MiSTer. viewtopic.php?p=20721#p20721

I did update directly on the MiSTer via the 'update' script. How do I now run the updateboot command on the MiSTer to make sure it has updated fully?
