Ah right, because that was labelled Motor rather than +9v on the pin out I didn't realise. Thanks.

Are you sure? The cassette port only provided 5v, it was the user port that had a 9v connection.

Re: List of Cores with ADC (Tape Input) and RTC (Real Time Clock) Support

I seem to remember that the Commodore datasette has an internal ADC and outputs (or receives) a digital signal from the user port. It is possible to connect it to the MiSTer user port (obviously an adapter would be needed) to read the digital signals and also control the motor?

The Arduino connectors are just female rather than male pins. You don't need to solder, just use a dupont lead to connect the fan.

Sorry, missed the point that it was a powered hub. Are you still using the stock power supply? I think a better one such as a 4amp meanwell supply is recommended these days.

Re: usb hub no longer reads usb drives

I find that recently unpowered devices such a hard drives don't work reliably. I've since bought a powered USB hub and everything works perfectly. I can only assume that over the years Linux upgrades and other new features have increased the power draw and there just isn't enough left on the USB port to power some devices. I'd suggest either going ...

that is also set correctly. here is my config file, where it says <hidden> I've just overtyped the values on the forum posting to avoid showing any sensitive info. MT32-PI Working but not showing in OSD

Hi I've got a strange situation where my self built MT32-Pi is working as in 1) MT32-PI receives MIDI signal 2) OLED display works fine, updates properly when playing 3) Sound is properly mixed with MiSTer over I2S 4) Physical Controls work fine Both MT32 and Sound Canvas play fine using X68000 and AO486 cores However, the MT32 sub menu never shows...

Re: tty2oled Soft&Hardware Add-On (Shows Core based Pictures on a Display)

i use a ttl usb to connect to the mister directly soldered to the board I don't know which ESP board you have but some have USB on them to connect directly with the MiSTer (and to flash). If that is the case the TTL to USB would be superfluous (although no reason it wouldn't work but something else to remove from the equation). If you remove the d...

Re: DE10-Nano Died After Accidently Unplugging SD Card

BTW, you can configure the FPGA over USB without changing the dip switches from the SD Card boot position. Sounds like what you did was maybe write to the flash memory as well (which is non-volatile) so if you do have the dip switches in the wrong place going forward the De10 would boot into whichever core you flashed rather than the blinking led (...

Re: DE10-Nano Died After Accidently Unplugging SD Card

Nothing is permanent on the FPGA, it is RAM and loses its contents when powered off. The dip switches determine how the FPGA is configured at boot, with 2 of the options being program from flash memory or from a file on the SD Card. It sounds much more likely the a dip switch was knocked and the De10 was no longer booting from SD Card. I think the ...

Re: tty2oled Soft&Hardware Add-On (Shows Core based Pictures on a Display)

Seems to be completely stable running at 115200. Takes a second or 2 to transfer but I don't remember a single transfer error. The scaling is pretty crude, I just use the bytes read to determine whether the image is a 256x64 or a 160x80 one and set a flag. If the pic is an XBM and a call is made to drawXBMBitmap I check for the flag and call a cust...

No problem, links below to the menu in both XBM and GSC and 1942 in XBM. The Punisher link above is also a standard GSC. They look a lot better on the screen, the camera picks up a lot of artefacts that you can't normally see.

It works really well and can still display the original XBM and GSC files (although anything wider the 160 has th...

Re: External LED question

I think the trouble is the the IO board already provides +5v, it is the ground that generates the 3v differential by only dropping to 1.7v and therefore I don't think splicing from a different 5v source will help. Obviously the LEDs won't mind a lower voltage than they are rated for but will indeed be dimmer. Really you should get halo LEDs that ar...

Re: Considerations for a custom case?? Where to buy??

One thing worth noting with that case is that the metal is relatively thick and will take some cutting through. I would recommend finding some scrap metal to test your hole cutting skills on first. The front, back and bottom are a single piece of metal so you can't replace with a 3d printed panel or PCB, therefore you will need to cut the required ...

Case is finished and the display looks small but perfectly formed. Dave, I'm about to create a 3D printed case for the 3.2“ / 256x64 displays. I know that you have your (smaller) display setup integrated to your "real" case, but I'm specially interested in how you've "stacked" the OLED, PCB and ESP together to estimate the dime...

It's not too difficult, have a read and give it a try and come back and ask for help if you get stuck.

Re: tty2oled Software Add-On now with USB/SD Support (Show Text/Pictures based on loaded Core on Display)

Also, you only need an sd card in the TTGO if you are using the sd version of tty2oled (and then it will only contain the xbmp image files) . For the USB version no sd card is needed, you need to upload the binary to the flash of the actual TTGO (which you also need to do for the other versions) .

The screen should display 'Mister FPGA by Sorgelig' if not connected to an actual Mister device.

I believe Venice has stated that the TTGO is not selected by default in the latest Sketch source so make sure you uncomment the correct define (and comment any others)
