Re: Mr. Do! Core In Development

Couple things I learned.. Mr. Do Nightmare has nothing to do with the new Mr. Do core..
The author of the new core is aware of the screen rotation issue and will be adding a fix for it in the next release ( Super Easy Fix )
sounds like he has a few other bugs to squash but he made if very clear he was going to tackle them head on..

God Speed Sir..

Re: Mr. Do! Core In Development

I tried to get it manually, and it would not load for me, then did Update_All and viola, it works.. The issue however is that if you want to play it with your screen rotated vertically, it is upside down.. as is Centipede and Lady Bug.. what is sort of funny, is that Mr. Do Nightmare, actually has the setting to flip the screen, but does not need i...

Re: The Result of My Search for a Great MiSTer Display

In case you want to use the suggest filter too, and do not want to go into every game and set it up one at a time..
add this line to your mister.ini

vfilter_default='Scanlines (Bright)/Brightness 130%/SL_Br_130_070_Soft.txt'

Re: Preserving Arcade Core High Scores

@Jimmystones reached out to me on discord and we figured out the Donkey Kong high score thing.. It totally works.. for me, I had to make sure that the rbf line in the .mra was Donkey Kong and NOT DonkeyKong, then stuff worked.. Maybe I am just full of it or maybe it really was the fix, who knows, if your having issues give that a shot. Now I just n...

Re: Preserving Arcade Core High Scores

I went out to the github and grabbed the .mra and the .rbf for Donkey Kong dated 3/21/2021.. Not sure what I could be doing wrong but it is not saving the high scores for me.. It for sure creates the .nvram file, in the normal place and all that but does not seem to load it when the game starts a second time?? Also, when I map the buttons, it does ...

Mine showed up, your instructions were spot on, did not try to reinvent the wheel, just set things up the way you said to and I am pretty satisfied at the moment.. :-)

Appreciate your time and effort sharing this.

Re: Preserving Arcade Core High Scores

Worked on making sure that my "Favorite" arcade games that support high score saving all have the right .mra and updated .rbfs today.. By my count over 70% of the games I care about all have High Score saving working, right now.. That is crazy.. Thanks to everyone that is working on this stuff.. Makes this old man happy and is a great 54t...

Re: Preserving Arcade Core High Scores

so I went to the github and got the latest .mra for 100% sure this time..

IT FREAKING WORKED..

That is right, Pengo now has pause and high score saving, so cool!!

@JimmyStones is killing it!!

Re: Preserving Arcade Core High Scores

I went and grabbed the .rbf from github and installed it.. I know I am using the correct one as the game now has pause that you can map and works!! But it did not save my high score even though I made sure after my game was over I went into the menu and hit Save Settings ( a few times ) before I booted another game, then went back into Pengo.. Kind...

Re: Joystick restrictor

You can install the ulitmarc and attach it to a switch and make it up for 4 way, down for 8 way or however you want to set it up also.. As I understand it once you choose to hard wire it, that is it, can't go back..

Re: Preserving Arcade Core High Scores

Pengo, so cute looking and so tricky to play, really cool game. I made my own Pengo game on my VIC-20 as a kid. I bet that would have been something to see on the vic-20!! I like Pengo, like, probably way more than I should, hahahaha.. I sure was happy when I finally got past level 16 and it started over, broke 220,000 that game, have not come clo...

That version, which I am guessing is the same as the one I got earlier just named "correctly" works great.. Buttons map as you would expect and the game plays like it should.. You guys really do great work, I know I am not the only one who appreciates it.. Thanks!!

Moon Patrol Fixed!! Link to .rbf HERE!!

Curious if everyone has this issue.. Moon Patrol, I can not play a 2 player game.. When I map the buttons it maps a "start" and a "coin" instead of what I would think would be common, player 1 start, player 2 start and a coin..

with the arcade cores.. not uncommon to have to map the keys game by game.. When I say "keyboard mode", In the IPAC software I mean each button is just mapped as a key. Looks like I am using Firmware 1.32.. Have not messed with that forever..

Mister Control Panel with Labels.png I am using my Ipac-2 in straight keyboard mode, not doing anything fancy and use it almost exclusively for arcade games.. here is a labeled picture of how I have it setup. I play Robotron a lot, have had great luck. I think the key is how you setup the right joystick. I have literally used every button on the I...

you can make autofire work..
start the game.. hold down the fire button then hit the scroll lock key on your keyboard, that should toggle autofire on and off with a 100ms delay..
