Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

Quick Question, does this solution allow you to play vertical games well on a horizontal CRT? Say you have a 25" CRT, which gives you the needed room to show vertical games pretty close to what a 19" monitor would look like. Wondering if this solution does that.

Re: Depricated.

Out of curiosity, has anyone gotten Mean Streets to work? For me, I load the game, answer the challenge question and then it plays some previews and shows some credits and then, nothing.. Just asking to see if others get the same results..

Thanks,

Re: Horizontal and Vertical Adjustments in Settings

For me, the games listed and Centipede are ones that are needed most, but, I am a pretty small sample size. :-) Mostly just trying to dial in games on my Vertical Mistercade setup in a modified Dig Dug cabinet. ( yes I know Mario Bros. listed above is a horizontal game ) I know @jimmiestones just loves messing with the Centipede core, have at it si...

Re: Centipede Speed Up request

I finally managed to get a Happ 2.25" trackball plate level with my new Dig Dug control panel, while not perfect, nothing a little wood putty and eventually a control panel overlay will not hide. This thing plays really really well in Centipede using the 400% setting, like I do not know what a real one is like but I can not imagine it is bette...

Re: Centipede Speed Up request

@thorr Curious if you have gotten to play any yet with the USB connection and your high resolution encoder wheels. Would be interested in your feedback with that setup, Centipede and Missile Command would be the games I cared about most, but any feed back you might have with any of the games or cores would be interesting. I have Happ 3", U-Tra...

Centipede Speed Up request

Hello,
Anyone interested in trying to update Centipede so the trackball sensitivity could be higher, it goes to 200% currently but several of use seem to agree even more would be helpful..

Thoughts?

Re: GRS Trackball

Thanks for the update, so, I agree, like 100%, sounds like it really does not matter what trackball is used. They work, they are accurate, but it just feels like it takes a lot of effort to get from one side to the other. GRS, Happ and U-Trak all confirmed.

Hey @jimmystones any thoughts on a possible addition to the centipede core

Re: GRS Trackball

Hello,
Thanks for the reply, I messed with the throttling settings, but I could not find a setting that made things better, only worse. With some effort I can do some testing with an actual Happ Trackball also, will be a bit.

GRS Trackball

Hello, I was curious if anyone out there is using a GRS Trackball on their Mister device, specifically for Centipede. I have the U-trak one setup currently and even though I have the settings in Centipede set to 200%, it still take me, 3 spins to get from the left to the right, just seems like this is a bit to much, would love any feedback on ways ...

Horizontal and Vertical Adjustments in Settings

Hello,
Was curious if someone might be interesting in adding the horizontal and vertical adjustments that many games have now to Tron, and Mario Bros. if one was feeling froggy.

Is anyone tracking which games might have these and which ones do not?

Thanks,

I can not speak to any clock cycles or screen refresh stuff but I can share this.. CRT monitor, True 4-way Dominux8 Joystick, new Switching Power Supply wired into a arcadeshop Dig Dug to Jamma Adapter and ran through the Mistercade, last night I was able to run thru 15 screens of the 9th key pattern and the ghosts behaved perfectly, not one issue,...

So, with 13 pages of comments basically saying how great the 7800 core is, I want it known, I must be the problem, and I accept that, still I have a question. My mister is setup mostly for arcade games, I have an Ipac2 controlling all my joysticks and buttons. For the life of me I can not get my setup to play any games with this core. I load the co...

When I was fighting this, for me, it came down to my monitor refresh rate and the joystick I used.. Re: Donkey Kong: Walking Sound Hack?

I wonder if we put together a GoFundMe and raised XXX dollars, if we could convince Jotego to have a run at making a new core.. Clearly he is one of if not the most talented people working with this project and an accurate Donkey Kong core would clearly be one heck of an accomplishment, I mean the Mame folks have been at it for 25 years as of today...

Pretty bold to say historically right.. As a child of the 80's, I played the ever loving sh*t out of Donkey Kong, in my home town and basically everywhere I went for many years.. There was 1 place, 1, that had Donkey Kong where the pie factory was the 2nd screen and you could hold onto the girders and the barrels not come down on you, 1, out of, I ...

Re: Add Spinner Control to Tron.. Please.. :-)

Have you tried the Input Tester core to see what inputs your spinner shows up against? From the code Tron looks like it supports what the MiSTer framework thinks is a spinner whereas centipede is just using the mouse inputs. I learned today, that you can get the Spintrak spinner while hooked to an Ipac2 to work in Tron, you just have to identify t...

Re: Does the GRS spinner work with Tron

A follow up to my last post, did a little more testing and learned this, you CAN in fact use the Ultimarc Spintrak while hooked up to an Ipac2 as a spinner in Tron, you just have to add the 3 lines specific to the Ipac vid & pid in the mister.ini Pretty cool if you ask me.

spinner_vid=0xd209
spinner_pid=0x0420
spinner_axis=0

Wanted to post my results following your instructions from a few posts ago.. I went ahead and ordered the stand alone USB adapter for my Ultimarc Spintrak and got it installed just now.. Fired up my Vertical Mister and tested Arkanoid, worked like a champ.. Fired up Tron, did not work.. So I did what you said and SSH'd into the Mister and ran the l...

Re: Does the GRS spinner work with Tron

I got the GRS spinner and the GRS push-pull spinner. The regular spinner works in both Tron and Discs of Tron. The push-pull spinner doesn't work at all for the spinner, push-pull or buttons in either game. It does get recognized and works in ao486 using it as a mouse. The GRS spinner needs to be turned a lot more than I would like the in the Atar...

Re: Does the GRS spinner work with Tron

I did what you suggested, and about the only thing I figured out was that since my Ipac2 has both my spinner and trackball attached, neither of them come up as their own device inside Mister. To solve this and to do some more testing I ordered the adapter needed to connect the Spintrak via its own usb connection instead of the Ipac2. The part is no...
