Re: Running 68k AROS on MiSTer?
AROS ROM should work on minimig, at least for floppy images. What probably doesn't work is HDD support - there are some issues with IDE implementation, or maybe just AROS incompatibility. Will be fixed sometime.

Re: Performance vs real A1200 + 030
The most obvious "sluggishness" (I keep using quotes here, this is very unscientific) is when dragging screens up and down. I just compared with real ECS (A600) and AGA (CD32), and MiST compares better with ECS than with the AGA. MiSTer is faster, but still feels like it is "dragging behind" the mouse a bit, as if the screen ha...

Re: Performance vs real A1200 + 030
Can you describe your feeling of 'sluggishness'? Where / when do you notice it?

Re: Sponsoring RTG support
I haven't looked into how the ARM <-> FPGA communication is implemented in MiSTer, so I can only speculate what might the problem be. Linux in general does offer many options to tune CPU and IO usage, so that is something that could be looked at. Moving the CPU to ARM, which handles reading the SD card, could actually prove beneficial, as there wou...

Re: Sponsoring RTG support
Maybe if disk speed is of concern, a better option would be to implement direct SD card access in the FPGA. Actually, that is something I'll put on my TODO list ...

Re: Sponsoring RTG support
In the meantime, Mahen mentioned that someone else is planning to implement RTG, but didn't say who. Hey robinsonb5, yes, I planned to work on the RTG, but at the time I didn't know you were already working on it. There's really no point both of us doing it, plus I would really love to try the 68k CPU emulation on ARM. I already have the DE10 nano...

Great, any support with testing would be appreciated.apolkosnik wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 1:17 pm I'd like to help with any of the menial tasks for any of these things.

Re: Sponsoring RTG support
Hey Sorgelig,
if no one else beats me to it, I was planning to work on RTG. But first I want to implement the 68k CPU emulation on ARM.
