Re: N64 ScummVM Port - Saving?
Thanks for the info, I'll give the Amiga port a try. I had assumed it wouldn't work at 15khz but I didn't test. Let me know if the Amiga core works for you (I'm just curious). I'm going to use my tablet to play some SCUMMVM games I think. Tablets seem like a good option for playing old point & click games. I've always wanted to complete Rex Ne...

Re: N64 ScummVM Port - Saving?
I'm sorry I can't help with the N64 port (didn't know there was one), but perhaps you could use an Amiga SCUMMVM port? I think there's one & since it's on a computer core it may be easier to work with things like "saves". I'd guess you can make the Amiga more powerful than an N64 too, more RAM, higher CPU speed etc. It should also out...

It's probably safer, faster and more stable but Windows 11 is cheaper so I'm sticking to that for now .

Re: Pang! Public Release by Jotego
I love this game. I originally played Ocean's C64 port when it came out (cartridge, not the crack on disk version). The SID tunes were great. Later I played the original arcade version through MAME.
Anyone who is a fan should check out "Super Obliteration" on the Amiga core too. It's a brilliant Pang! like PD game.

Re: MiSTer Storage Requirements
I think it's USB hub speed. Could just be my set up, but I find MicroSD faster than an external SSD. It's noticeable mostly with cores like PC & Amiga. This is just my personal experience though, and I haven't updated in a few months.

Gamebase64 is great. I just use the gb64 to SD converter to extract the collection with the right names Again, Google is your friend (a friend that's also a nosy bastard).

if you play golf in a thunderstorm you're *probably* going to be ok, but it's sensible just to play it safe ;) . No matter how ridiculous it may sound, my MiSTer died during a thunderstorm :) Together with him, a lot of things still died, but he is the most pity of all :)) Not uncommon for power fluctuations during thunderstorms to assassinate com...

Re: I think my DE10 is fried
The HDMI is wired for hot plug purposes. You'd think & hope so wouldn't you? There's definitely some electronic wizardry & bits of metal inside my monitor though, so it's always possible for a bit of current to leak or some static building up & then zapping my MiSTer's HDMI port. I'd plugged it in many times without incident, but all i...

Re: What Do You Think Will Happen Once MiSTer Reaches It's Limits?
Same thing as happened when the C64 hit it's limits... Oh wait, it hasn't yet, and never will! No reason why people can't refine cores & push the h/w limit's for decades. I understand it's not going to emulate an Intel I7 x64 PC, but there's still a virtually infinite amount of projects that could be undertaken within the h/w constraints of the...

Re: MiSTer SD Card Corruption Issues
Try the card with all the files in a usb card reader on the MiSTer. (you may need core files on another card in onboard card reader & set to "boot to USB). If it works there's probably something wrong with the onboard card reader. If so get repair or replacement from supplier.

Re: Monitor with 1x HDMI Port and 2x Display Port
You could just get a cheap hdmi switch box & connect both to the 1 HDMI port. You can get them for less than £10 on Amazon I think. Certainly cheap enough on eBay if you don't mind waiting for post.

Re: Custom Video Mode settings - Dangerous for CRT?
I once blew up a very expensive 19" CRT monitor in a spectacular, blinding flash. I'd compiled my own Linux kernel in a bid to get an old 28" CRT TV working as a dial screen output from a crappy composite out. I'm guessing I messed up the screen output settings. Thankfully the crappy old TV output actually worked fine though - haha. But y...

Re: Super CPU Support?
I've decided to take a look at the ram expansion unit as suggested by Sorgleig. If I have an understanding of how the cartridge slot works, I think I will be in a much better position to work on acceleration of the CPU... The chameleon cartridge has some core developer documentation.... This would be a great addition. CPU boost is absolutely brill...

Fantastic. I really want to play the BBC version. You can also use the BBC Master version, it works now as well and looks even better then the already fluid and beautiful BBC version. Haven't heard of the Master version. Will have to check it out, thanks. I'm most familiar with the Amiga version, spent many hours playing it. I've always wanted to ...

As long as you have it turned off when plugging cables in there should be no problems.jca wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 4:14 pm I plan to get an HDMI repeater in order to protect the DE-10 nano, I think it is worth the expense.

Re: DE10 Nano Not Booting Green User Light Only
The boards are clearly sensitive to static, my first board had it's HDMI port zapped just by plugging into a monitor. I keep it as a spare since VGA out still works using add-on board. It's something to be aware of when plugging peripherals in (keep it turned off) & assembling/modifying. Hope you get it fixed. Maybe disassemble & reassemble...

I'm sure I used a Bluetooth & USB keyboard at the same time (I had to use USB full size KB to map a key missing on mini Bluetooth board). That was months ago, can't imagine it's removed that functionality though).

This sounds like an old April fools joke! Other insane tips include urinating in the cartridge port before plugging in SMB3 for bonus levels, and of course plugging a human turd into the cartridge slot to get a virtually identical experience to SMB2. Actually, that last one is pretty accurate...

Re: Has anyone tried a 1TB MicroSD card in their MiSTer?
I saw elsewhere that a person has the top 300 best PSX games including multi disks and they fit on 165GB Double that for Sega CD and Turbo CD and you have 330 leaving 170GB for the rest and I would say you are fine with 512. You really don't need to cram the drive with crappy or bad games you will never play anyway. And Amiga & AO486 HDD's and...

Turn on ypbpr & make sure SOG switch is on correct setting, that will fix it.Sigismond0 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 6:01 pm My LCD w/VGA port doesn't like the MiSter VGA output for some reason--it gives it a purplish tint. I did some really casual lag testing, and don't think there's any difference between what I get on that panel using VGA vs HDMI input.
