Re: Cannot boot core with this PSU ?
Hum i didn't saw but there is marking on the side. It says 2.4A 12V Maximum per ports. The problem come from here i guess. The usb to jack dc i use is round inside, i try another one, it's exactly the same connector as the mean well supply, but the mister don't want even boot with it. This cable is working i use it to power my gbs 8200. I try every...

Hello, Right now i am using a 4A 5V mean well psu with my mister. I want to use this psu for something else, and some times ago i bought this psu : https://fr.rs-online.com/web/p/alimentations-de-bureau/1242208 It's 5x 5v out with 8A capability. I have other thing connected to it but it's very low poser. Mister is booting, but when i try to load a ...

More IREM Cores ?
Hello,
I admit i really want to see irem m92 on the mister . But it seems the interest for this is low... in the topic about the what system people want to see, i don't remember seeing much interest for more irem machines.
We already have irem m62, is there any news for more ?

Re: Why not use a package manager?
It's different on Mister, it act like a standard computer. This is not a standard computer. It doesn't even act like one. There is no graphics processing unit. Basic functions of hardware often have to be routed through an FPGA core and basic connectivity that other standard computers have require significant development to even begin working. It'...

Re: Why not use a package manager?
@ dshadoff I just discuss an idea, that's the point of open source, if the community doesn't like it let's move on. I don't ask anything to anyone. @ ExCyber I can see the point but in case of the router there is the firmware thing as you said. It's different on Mister, it act like a standard computer. For the integration i don't see much where is ...

Not the point, indeed solution exist and it's not bothering me that much to use scripts. I was just saying that this is strange to use scripts when there is a more reliable, easy and mature solution that is integrate in linux for very long.

Why not use a package manager?
Hello, When i build my mister and start using it i found it strange to use all these script. I use linux for many years and package manager is really a core functionality, it's very practical and for me a big advantage over other OS. As Mister is base on linux i found it strange the project do not use some simple package manager for updates. I mean...

Re: A couple of CRT/VGA questions
Hello, I was discussing this in shmup forum. Soon I will buy a iiyama pro 454 for cheap, i also own a bvm 20f1e. In my bvm i am with direct video mode, and it works very good. With the iiyama crt i am mixed feeling about the scandoubling option. Less scanline, and in my memory vga crt at 60hz are a pain for the eyes. Maybe my memory is wrong though...

Re: Hori switch mini fighting stick
I haven't your stick but i can tell you the switch version of Hori stuff seems to have strange behavior on mister. I have a fighting commander switch version, and i couldn't map the button until i use the integrate switch to emulate a stick. If i just pass the step of maping the stick, in the next step it was like the buttons weren't recognize. So ...

Hello,
My sound system is custom with this dac that feature two spdif, one toslink and one rca ;
https://www.audiophonics.fr/fr/dac-diy/ ... 12557.html
I don't know if the dac handle the spdif by itself or if they use an IC.

Re: No more sound with spdif and ioboard
Just made some test and it confirms what i was thinking. The problem comes from the last updates of the cores, spdif doesn't work anymore for some cores. I tried different cores version : NES_20201102.rbf i have sound, with NES_20210114.rbf i haven't. Same for SNES, SNES_20210121.rbf no sound, with SNES_20201106.rbf i have sound. For megacd it's th...

No more sound with spdif and ioboard
Hello,
I am using the spdif output from the ioboard, then through a toslink transmitter.
Everything was working fine until the new core updates. Several machine have no sound anymore (Mega CD, NEO GEO, NES, SNES). The others still have sounds, so the problem is not related to me, i also try an old NEO GEO core and it worked.
Thank you

Re: Paprium cartridge
Funny indeed to use a 180 mhz chip with a mega drive and it's 68000 at 7.6mhz
If this chip is arm, could it be possible to directly emulate it with the arm processors in the cyclone V ?

Re: Safe to let the MiSTer "always on" ?
What the point to let something on if you don't use it... Too lazy to buy a switch or to unplug the jack dc connector ? You will say it's not costing "much" in electricity, but this "cost" argument is as stupid as people using it, energy is not free to produce (either carbon either extremely dangerous waste that will last for mi...

So no answer... no one care but i will still answer myself, maybe it will be usefull to someone someday. I find a way to make the pad working fine. I plug it in my pc and look its behavior with linux and windows. The ZR and ZL button that are problematic with mister are consider an axis (Z axis) and not buttons. Some people says this is problematic...

I just finish metal slug advance with my mitser in direct video and my BVM-20F1E
In direct video you get a small image as it is in gba native resolution. You need the scaler to get something full screen but as gba resolution is not a multiple of the standard 320x240 res you are not suppose to end up with something great.

Save function in FDS games ?
Hello,
I try to play the FDS version of Castlevania with the recent english patch. The built-in save feature is great for this game. However the game seems to not save anything, i start a few levels, make a "save backup ram" and try to reset, and nothing was saved.
Thanks !
