Re: Add Lightgun calibration in the menu ?

I don't even know how to do it. My controller is a powera fusion for switch, the only unused button is the "screenshot" button, but i have no idea how to map it to the F10 button of a keyboard. And even then, the lightgun calibration screen is the only "hidden" menu i know of, i don't understand why there shouldn't be an entry i...

Add Lightgun calibration in the menu ?

If i remember correctly there is no way to pull the lightgun calibration utility directly with the menu, you need to press F10 with a keyboard and repeat the procedure for each core. Not very practical for people like me that doesn't use a keyboard with their mister. So why not add an entry in the menu somewhere in bootup menu and in cores that sup...

Re: Wishlist of Cores You Would Like to See in the Future

with the advent of Groovy_MiSTer and the progress thats been made for better compression, more cores working in Retroarch, inputs working from MiSTer controllers, and the fact that it bypasses what a computer GPU driver would have to buffer (so we get lower input lag compared to the machine playing MAME), the MiSTer has already reached what i woul...

Re: Store All My Original Hardware and Use Only MiSTer

The wrong attitude, is bending over backwards to serve stupid people. This project is not for them. If stupid people want hand-holding, and an even simpler menu system than a text-based menu, then they can go buy a Raspberry Pi, and leave the Mister alone. I reject this arbitrary gatekeeping framing completely. Sorgelig and other devs have made pl...

Re: The State of DACs for the MiSTer and Direct Video

FYI - The device that I use that works really really well for me and I think is no longer made uses an Explore EP9851 DAC. http://img.hqew.com/file/others/500000-509999/501681/electronic/201288121722596731.pdf If there are any devices today that use that DAC, that is what I recommend for the MiSTer. It has perfect color and no sync issues. Edit: I...

HD Fury i very well aware of this thread and the test you did. About this halo issue, they answered me this : Hi there There are no adjustments on the hdfury to overcome this. The hdfury has been tested here https://tinyurl.com/dactestresults and comes in as a reference DAC. Usually halos are caused by cabling that is too long or poorly shielded. I...

Thank for doing these test. When i saw you post, i decide to order an hd fury X3 as it is suppose to be the reference. After installation, i found the text to look weird. There is a discussion in the shmup forum about it, it seems i am not alone and this dac has some kind of halo effect : https://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?p=1550549#p1550549...

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

It's funny i have a similar idea some years ago, i talk of it in the previous mister forum. The idea was the same but by using the nano ADC. Back then someone said the ADC hasn't enough bandwith to handle video signal. Didn't thought to use the network though. Anyway this is a very interesting idea. I am asking myself if there is not something to d...

I wanted to come here to ask the same, as i stated the old version now crash.

Re: Neo Geo CPU Overclocking?

What needs to be fixed about it? The core meets timing requirements when I compile trbocode's latest version. I don't think doubling the clock is anywhere near the equivalent of what Koston's mods to his own boards are though. The current build is like clocking the board to 24MHz which is a bit excessive given 12MHz is the default. The crashes you...

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

What i find strange with these ram issues things is the change of behavior. I am testing the core for a long time, and for a period audio was working perfectly fine with the few working games i had in a bin/cue format. It's only recently that audio start to glitch, so it looks more like some kind of regression than a problem with my ram stick. For ...

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

I follow the developpement of the Saturn core, and since the latest version audio start to be a lot worse than before. Games that were working perfectly in that regards, like duke nukem 3d, are now a complete noise garbage. I assume there is a regression somewhere in the audio side.

Re: Neo Geo CPU Overclocking?

It breaks ALL other games, causing graphics corruption or worse. Also breaks the timing of the core making it unstable. So until that can be addressed the pull request will never make it through the system You are the only one to find this is making the core "unstable". Maybe it does from a technical perspective, but from a player perspec...

Re: Neo Geo CPU Overclocking?

I don't understand much this discussion in github. The neo geo core had two big update recently, one with the cd support and the other by Gyurco.
So when trbocode talk of the new version of the core, i assume it's the Gyurco changes, and that he will pull another request with higher clock speed (48M) ?

Re: Neo Geo CPU Overclocking?

So the option if added will result in many people complaining the core has corrupt graphics, simply beacause they dont understand the overclock option. This is why its a bad idea. The PlayStation core handles this pretty gracefully, there are a set of advanced settings that you can change which clearly state they are unstable with a note in the OS...

Missing titles with the Arcade Organizer script ?

Hello, The Arcade Organizer script have a weird behavior. I wanted to tune it to have it at my taste, but if i try to modify any settings, it ended creating a blank folder most of the time. After several attempts, i manage to have it working as i want. But still there is still some titles that are missing in the organized folder. For example Armore...

I guess the only positive out of this system is that not counting region variants, there's less than 400 games and probably less than 200 worth playing.

Personally i have no interest in the N64 and have 0 nostalgia for it, but i still support this core on patreon for the beauty of the project

I think the idea of someone dedicating their limited time into making cores for useless systems like the Jaguar, 3do, Cdi and such is quite sad because the end result will not amount to anything good. I think someone dedicating their limited time in developing cores for useless systems like CPS3 is sad. Instead they should fix the classic 80's arc...

I mean one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. After the Saturn is complete some day, that’ll be the last “good” console left. I think it’s a bit weird that so many people think X console sucks bc the internet said so. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but completely writing off a console like the 3DO that has 300+ games as “bad” is a bit e...
