I ended up renaming ROM files to get Venture working.

Doesn’t seem to high on the priority list. As a long time subscriber I’m a bit weary of it all at the moment.

I guess the best way to see what’s going on would be to connect to CRT, if possible.

That only seems to happen with the screen flipped, which the original hardware didn’t support.

Quick question for macro; do you think the rack noise is correct in Galaxian or is it as good as it can be given digital limitations?

Re: Pac-Man Core

Thanks, Macro. I had a hunch you would be able to shed some light. Looking back through the core releases the video refresh rate jumped from 59.2Hz to 60Hz on release 20200106. MAME has it at 60.60606Hz. I also noticed that Galaxian has the same discrepancy, 59.2 versus 60.60606. I know you like that game. Is this something you would be willing to ...

Re: Pac-Man Core

I noticed before that at some point in the cores history it gained a refresh rate of exactly 60Hz rather than the 60.60606 reported by MAME. Could this account for any inaccuracies?

Re: Advice on AO486 video settings for Sony BVM 15khz monitor

Neither of those cores are 15khz natively so unfortunately won’t work. X68000 has switchable 15khz modes that you can get at once you’re into a game that supports.

Managed to get working by setting main ini to be video mode 8 and then alt ini to be 1920 x 1200 custom mode. Is no one else experiencing similar behaviour?

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the latest main MiSTer, 20211010? I’ve just got round to updating and get no HDMI out. Reverting back to previous release fixes the problem. Very pleased with this monitor otherwise.

I’d imagine that something like that was possible in the realm of FPGA. But the fact that no one has done it already would suggest it’s not straightforward.

Re: CPS2 - slight lag / frame skip in some games

Not really. Game just runs very slightly faster... Or slower. In fact console versions of Dodonpachi does exactly that, running at exactly 60hz. If it's OK for Cave, it's OK for me :D As for your other comment 60hz switches have to be done per core. Considering that end users are patching, for example Neogeo core to run at 60hz exactly (see thread...
