Re: videomode 5x

You have had the ability to do 5x scaling in the Minimig core for years using the “Adjust screen position” option.

Re: Ambient Amiga Demo?

It’s not the best demo for showing off the capabilities of the machine or its developer, but I’ve always liked “brainstate-in-a-box”. It fits your description quite well.

Re: Occasionnal jerky scrolling on SNES core

My LG OLED55C7 used to have those issues with a few cores outputting at off-spec frame rates, but it was fixed with some firmware update during 2018. Amiga at ~50Hz was the worst offender, while SNES was always smooth.

Re: 68020 AGA core - 2 game issues

These (previously non-working) WHDL slaves now work with 020:

Fire & Ice
Paradroid '90
Rainbow Islands
Realms
Simulcra
Super Off-Road
Uridium 2

So, yep, the entire GraftGold catalogue. Excellent!

Re: The benefits of CPU speed for Amiga

Is there any Amiga that runs Sim City 2000 at a playable speed? It’s probably the slowest running game released. No point at all running it on Amiga, but it’s amusing to see how anyone could sell such poor software with, presumably, a straight face.

Re: ADF Storage ?

The MegaAGS launcher scripts default to NTSC if the game is compatible, otherwise it will launch games in PAL mode. It is possible to force either mode via the settings menu.

Re: Autosave

SNES hacks commonly use cartridge RAM as scratchpad, especially for custom text rendering in translation hacks.

Re: Sponsoring RTG support

I was an Amiga user back in the day (A500 & A1200, 1988-93) and after the initial flurry of playing games I used the 1200 for applications; from graphics on dpaint to completing college courses on word processors (with my trusty Canon BJ10EX printer) also spent a lot of time making music on sound/p...

Re: Graftgold games

All the non-working Graftgold WHDL slaves throw the number 10 “unimplemented instruction” exception. Is it likely that that’s the root cause, with both the game and slave being 100% 68000 code? Another possibility is that the CPU jumps to a bad address due to some other error.

If you are using a 128MB module, it was probably the SDRAM tweaks that did the trick.
Yes, that is probably the case. I never tried it with my old 32MB module, but there doesn’t seem to be any other significant changes.

Re: Have we reached perfection?

I revisted a glitch I discovered a while ago, with the translation patch for Energy Breaker. When opening certain text boxes, SNES_MiSTer would consistently glitch out as pictured below, which doesn't occur on real hardware or accurate emulators. p6R2trS.jpg But I'm happy to see that the patch now w...

Re: Have we reached perfection?

How is the RTC implementation different in the GBA core and emulators? As an aside someone should really update the RTC wiki entry to mention it is used in SNES and GBA cores, which are much more popular than the computer cores that support it. The RTC add-on is only for having the DE10-Nano keep t...

Re: Have we reached perfection?

My one wish is to have the RTC behavior of the GBA core and most emulators.

Otherwise it’s pretty damn perfect. Oh wait, I actually have some bugs in store that I should report now that most things have calmed down. :D

Not really any more so than all the cores that do disk and other I/O via the HPS/Linux side.

MacOS actually supports all characters in file names except “:”, which is a superset of the allowed characters in AmigaDOS.
