Re: Why Doesn’t the Lion King Run Well on the AO486 Core?
AO486 is a core with the ability to install up to Windows 95. I don't think it's just because the ao486 performance is bad. I'm reading that as pretty much gibberish, it's totally unrelated to your problem. If the Lion King game is skipping frames, that means your CPU is too slow. You manually crippled it, so of course it's not working. I was assu...

Re: Store Kickstarts In Folders? [Update Main Solved]
The pull request was commited by Sorg earlier, so it should now be in the nightly build and will be part of the next release.

Re: Store Kickstarts In Folders? [Update Main Solved]
I suggested the following in https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Minimig-AGA_MiSTer/issues/141: Thanks! While you are at it.. is there a reason, why Kickstart ROMs can only be selected from the Amiga directory? Used to be different and that's quite annoying, when you have more than 10 different versions. I reverted that change to SelectFile(Selected_F...

Re: Store Kickstarts In Folders? [Update Main Solved]
It used to work, only needs a small change in main_mister. I can ask Sorgelig to make that change if enough people (like me) want it. Hmmm, if its a small change, I might be able to do it. I have not tried yet. Of course then Sorg would still have to approve it, but he did the last few times I made some updates to other cores. Hmm, I think few is ...

Re: Individually Bootable VHDs for Each Game
I was thinking a bit about this and came to think about a feature in DOSBox Pure. It allows booting games from zip files. This feature would require a change to the AO486 core itself if it was to support it. I am thinking the way it would work would be that there would have to be a zip or VHD with a version of DOS for this feature to use. It should...

Re: Feature Request Connect a Real Datassette
Oh and if you still want to connect a datasette or floppy drive directly to the MiSTer there is this option: https://www.antoniovillena.es/store/product/commodore-1541-sd2iec-adapter-for-mister/ Won't work for the datasette. The edge connectors only provides power on that. There's no tape signals on it, it's for powering an SD2IEC. Oh yeah... that...

Re: Feature Request Connect a Real Datassette
Hi, It's true, we can load .tap files from the OSD menu, but I need this feature to preserve taps. Thanks and best regards, Shark You could just convert the tapes to TAP files yourself or extract PRGs from them. I have done that, all it requires is a regular cassette player of a reasonable quality, use a cable tp plug the audio output directly int...

Re: Vampire V4 core for MiSTer Real?
Looks like someone has taken the framework for a new MiSTer core a dumped it on github, can't really find much content there browsing the files. Maybe someone wanting to create some news or someone who thinks they'll do it themselves... either way, nothing much there yet? Yup, not sure how this was found, but I do not think it was meant to be publ...

Re: Store Kickstarts In Folders? [Update Main Solved]
Yeah, its strange. The core only looks for ROMs in a single folder. It has annoyed me for a while, especially since I experiment with custom ROMs and making them myself.

Re: Amiga 68030/40?
I found another reason to get a 030 or 040 CPU on the MiSTer... seems The Settlers can only be played with map size 8 if you have an 030 or 040 CPU. Of course, you could play it with map size 8 in the AO486 core, but I do think some prefer the Amiga version of the game. There used to be an Aminet patch that you could run in User-Startup that would...

Re: Lets actually try Hybrid Emulation
Might not have to do with the MiSTer Main update. I tried updating the Hybrid MiSTer Main with the newest stuff, and I got the same error, and it does work with Mushashi just not with QEMU. But with Mushashi the 040 core runs as a 030 and I do think QEMU used to actually be able to boot, and it doesnt now. So now I am trying to also update the Mini...

Re: Lets actually try Hybrid Emulation
I was trying out the Hybrid core, and I cannot seem to get it to run anymore. Maybe the Linux updates has stopped it from working? I ran the script to switch to the Hybrid MiSTer Main and then I ran the HybridMinimig core, but I could not get it to boot with the 68Arm CPU. It could just be that I have done something to the emulation files, but I do...

Re: The Settlers
Just try using the game hd installer same mapsize so this is not a whdload issue Either the game limit the mapsize to 7 due to it being 68020 or there a core bug untill i can test this using a standard 8mb ram expansion on a amiga 1200 wont fill a bug report I have run several tests now. I tried several versions of Settlers on the MiSTer Minimig c...

Jeez i even launch the game from cli without startup-sequence and seven the ...

Re: The Settlers
Mapsize 8 should be possible on any system with... from what I remember its 8mb RAM or more. Might be enough with less even. Some do claim you also need a fast CPU but it seems to be a guess. Many do point out though that if playing from a floppy you are limited to a map size of 5 due to bigger maps needing more than a floppy disk of space to save ...

Re: Amiga CD32
Thanks for your extensive work on CD32 Caldor! It's great that an FPGA developer is interested in adding CD32 support to the existing core. Yes, that is pretty exciting. I hope we will see something come from it soon. Could be pretty awesome having CDTV and CD32 support for the MiSTer I think. Might take a while though before there is anything tan...

MiSTer shared folder for the Amiga
It seems to work really well so far. Being able to launch apps on it and such. But I have run into a problem with it. I have tried using it for CD32 savegames, by using CD32 emulator boot disks on this core, making it part of the boot to mount the shared folder, create a folder there if it does not exist and save the games to this folder. Which act...

Re: Amiga CD32
I have been experimenting some more. I have made some boot disks and boot roms even, that use the MiSTer shared folder to save games... and saving the games does work. But loading the games again does not work though. I was wondering why but someone told me it might be because some of file properties on the shared folder might get lost due to not b...

Re: Individually Bootable VHDs for Each Game
So the tool can write VHDs with various sizes? The next step being to be able to put data in the VHD? That would be very useful. I have tools that can mount a VHD, but those are GUI tools. Something that could do it with batch jobs and maybe help add files with a program would be very useful.

Re: Amiga CD32
Defender of the Crown 2 does seem to have a WHDLoad version, but I wonder how that works, given it has voices for the game. It also has CD audio and reading up on the WHDLoad version it seems some scenes rely on waiting for CD audio to finish playing for a scene to end... so I guess the WHDLoad version might not fully work? This would have that sa...

Re: Amiga CD32
Well, if it could be made to work in some non complicated manner (like a custom ROM) it'd be interesting option, even without CD Audio. There are about 130 CD32 + 24 CDTV games available as WHDLoad or hdfs, guess that covers the most important/popular ones. I think most lack the CD32-specific music and voice as well though. Yes, the interesting ga...

Re: Amiga CD32
Does that mean that audio works with your method? Unfortunately not... at least it should not work. Pretty sure the core itself, while it does support mounting CHD and cue images that have audio tracks, I am pretty sure it does not support playing those audio tracks. Pretty sure if support for the audio tracks is added, it will work. I did work a ...

Re: Amiga CD32
I have been experimenting some more with running CDTV and CD32 games on the MiSTer. I already mentioned the Squirrel CD32 boot disk and it works pretty well. One problem though is it only seems to work with some kickroms, mainly a custom 3.2 kickrom I made that had gotten the workbench and icon library added to it, as otherwise it complains about n...

Re: No Dual Shock Rumble with 8bitdo Pro Wired?
I noticed my SN30+ rumbling once in one game when I last tested it. So I guess increasing the rumble effect might help. But I had much more luck with a PS4 controller connected with a micro USB cable to the MiSTer.

Re: Individually Bootable VHDs for Each Game
With the shared folder now having been improved, I think it might make more sense to use boot disks instead, where each boot disk the boots specific games. But overall a problem with this solution, is that if you want to generally make changes to a boot, maybe there is a better driver for CD ROM drives, MIDI, sound card, graphics and so on, then it...

Re: PSX A SmokeMonster/HTGD Type of Database/List?
I have been building a database... but I guess what you might be looking for would be a tool that would check all games you have and their game id, to see if there are any duplicate CDs? I have been working on a tool that can read game ids from CD images for PSX games. There are a few games without a game id on the image, but they are pretty rare. ...
