Re: MT32 pi with Amiga Core
edit: nevermind. I had copied them as overwrite, but it seems it's better to delete the original folder first then copy fresh. That fixed both issues I was having.
The MT-32 stuff sounds awesome.

Re: Occasional Freezing
How hot is the FPGA itself getting? I had issues early on with AO486 that have been resolved by putting a small fan on top of the FPGA heatsink. It could be in my head, but it crashes far less often now. Mine was getting hot enough to burn the tip of my finger in just a second or two.

Re: Outboard MIDI
wiring is good, matches the schematic. Sound via mt32 works perfectly. OSD lets me control modes, soundfonts, etc. Once I enable the LCD though in mt32-pi.cfg it no longer communicates with MiSTer via i2c (I lose the OSD options). Tested a few times just now back and forth. lcd=none - everything works perfect, sound, osd, mt32/soundfont mode, etc l...

Re: Outboard MIDI
Wiring is clean, they're 20cm breadboard jumpers. Both I2C wires look fine. Super odd that enabling the LCD makes it stop working. Just validating that this pinout is fine for I2C
Pin3/D+ - i2c sda
Pin7/drain - i2c scl
I have those wired to arduino pins 1 and 6 respectively using breadboard jumpers. I'll double check everything again.

Re: Outboard MIDI
You can use any of the Show Info modes whether there is a real OLED attached or not - but you still need to enable type = ssd1306_i2c in the lcd section of mt32-pi.cfg . So this is odd. When I enable ssd1306_i2c, I lose mister control and the mt32 submenu disappears from my Mister OSD. Thought? I have everything wired to the schematic. If I set LC...

Re: Outboard MIDI
Are any of the the Show Info - No, Yes, LCD-On (FB), LCD-Auto (non-FB) for MT32-Pi intended to provide an OSD over the HDMI output of Mister? I don't have the OLED display as indicated but at times would like to see the information on screen to validate it's working. None of the options I have tried work. LCD-On shows a dark gray box, but nothing ...

Re: Shared folder discussion
That is weird. I noticed that you can't run software from the misterFS drive, you must copy it first to the VHD. It also will appear in Windows if you add it to autoexec.bat, and you can see the drive, but I couldn't copy data from it.

Re: Shared folder discussion
@Cebion, yes, you're right but do you know how to use it ? I've seen that there is an executable to get the benefit of it but except if I missed it, I did not see how to use it. Have you already tried it ? https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/ao486_MiSTer/tree/dev/releases Scroll to the bottom of the list. From DOS type misterfs.exe d A d: drive will b...

Re: Why OpenCore Plus UART?
The new 30x UART option in the latest build does not seem as reliable or as fast as the 10x option in the previous builds. It also disconnects quite often from PPP.

Re: Why OpenCore Plus UART?
I almost forgot, I use this modem .inf for Win95. Maybe that helps... mdmcisco.zip Thank you for sharing that modem driver! It works when I use the "Null Modem Cable" device from that driver. I just set up a dial up ppp connection using the Windows 95 internet connection wizard. I entered 1111111111 as phone number, I had to ensure that ...

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
The only other thing I changed is the optimization type. It was set to high performance (may use more space) and I changed it to balanced. After setting the exact model of Cyclone V and the performance setting, I got it compiled on Lite.

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
Anyone able to compile the (very latest) dev branch? I get "can't fit design in device" against the Cyclone V target in Quartus Prime Lite 17.0.2. Yes !!!!! i just did it ! :D :D :D :D OK..._how_ did you do it (with Lite)? I was able to do it with Lite. It failed the first time, but I set the device Cyclone V to the same one on the DE10 ...
