Re: Preserving Arcade Core High Scores
Hi jimmystones, I noticed Frenzy is saving high scores if I manually save but it's not doing the auto save like some of the other games. It's not a huge deal but would be nice if it worked liked the other games that have high score saving. Thanks for all your contributions to the MiSTer project!!

Re: Cannot update to latest release (20210831)
I bought a new micro SD card and everything is working like it should. I don't know why the other one won't update but this was a good excuse to upgrade to a higher capacity micro SD card :) For some reason all my high scores in the arcade cores are gone. I tried copying over the config folder from the old micro SD card to the new micro SD card but...

Re: Cannot update to latest release (20210831)
No it doesn't respond to anything, I tried pressing buttons on a few of my USB gamepads but didn't get a response. So then I tried the reset button on the MiSTer itself but still no response. Nothing worked until I rolled back to the older linux folder from https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/SD-Inst ... 0210829.7z

Cannot update to latest release (20210831)
Hi everyone, I've never had a problem updating MiSTer in the past but for some reason I can't update to 20210831. I originally ran the update_all script and when that didn't work I downloaded https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/SD-Installer-Win64_MiSTer/raw/master/release_20210829.7z, extracted the linux folder and manually overwrote the linux folder o...

Re: Preserving Arcade Core High Scores
Hi jimmystones, thanks for all your awesome work adding high score support to the MiSTer arcade cores! Have you looked at Vulgus yet? Is that a tough one to add?

Re: King and Balloon making a humming sound
Tested Japanese version and the sounds work OK in that version "HERUPU HERUPUU". I edited the zip and renamed the english files to the japanese filenames but even that didn't made the HELP HELP in english voices work. Maybe the problem is in the core? Hi there I just tested this on my MiSTer and I also found King and Balloon (US) wasn't ...

Re: Preserving Arcade Core High Scores
Sorry but I can't remember - do we need to manually go through the save option in the menu for it to save high scores? Or will the cores automatically save them?

Re: Sync issue on Vertical cores
I was just about to send another message cause I poked around a bit more and noticed that Moon Patrol doesn't have the same settings as the rest of the Irem games. I'm guessing the "video timing" setting is the one that's causing me grief. Anyway I went back to a custom video mode to make it run, that must've been why I remembered it runn...

Re: Sync issue on Vertical cores
Hi paulbnl, I formatted a new SD card and installed everything fresh but I'm still seeing rolling video on Moon Patrol. I tried older versions of MiSTer, Arcade-Iren and MoonPatrol RBFs including the Arcade-Irem RBF you posted in this thread but I can't figure out how to get it running smoothly again like it did a few days ago. All Irem games that ...

Re: Sync issue on Vertical cores
Thanks for the tips paulbnl, I really appreciate it. Hope you can help again because Moon Patrol stopped working. Something must've changed 'cause the video rolls now when I run it. All other IREM games work fine. This is with no custom [mpatrol] section in my ini file. What's weird is that the custom video mode that I used before as a workaround d...

Re: Sync issue on Vertical cores
The core has been updated already with my fixes so you can use safely use update_all. Try this video mode for Asteroids: video_mode=640,30,60,70,240,4,4,14,12587 That definitely improved the resolution but the image was too narrow: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zHrkE4EQ5BDfsYM4VMiHFKYS7xcTFDvx/view?usp=sharing So I tried changing the 240 to 480...

Re: Sync issue on Vertical cores
Do you know if running update_all will overwrite the fixed version of Kung-Fu Master that I now have on my MiSTer? Also wondering what numbers I use for video_mode so that it matches the 1280x1024 108.00MHZ 60.0HZ that's displayed when I run SectionZ (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1phudiY5UwW1Z1PtmpgeWgn_oSlDo4XUs/view?usp=sharing). Re: Sync issue on Vertical cores
The top is the core resolution which is output to IO board with vga_scaler=0 or Direct video. The bottom is the scaler resolution which is output to HDMI or IO board with vga_scaler=1. Try this core without the [kungfum] section in ini: That worked - thank you!! I'm not sure if I did it right but here's what I did: 1. Commented the [kingfum] secti...

Re: Sync issue on Vertical cores
Any idea how I can fix that? I assume it's in the video_mode but I'm not sure what to change it to. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! :) It looks like your TV is not able to display 50Hz. Does a 55Hz core like SectionZ work correctly? I am working on some video fixes for the Irem M62 core which includes the original 55Hz timing so that migh...

Re: Sync issue on Vertical cores
That indicates it does not lock to Hsync but then usually you should get a wavy diagonal image. Donkey Kong does have a 60.60Hz refresh rate which is higher than normal. Can you try below settings in MiSTer.ini? It will normalize Hsync and Vsync and you can force it to 60Hz by setting vsync_adjust=0. [dkong] video_mode=320,4,29,31,224,10,3,27,6082...

No I checked that already, the option to flip/rotate isn't there like some of the other cores.

Re: Multi cores/roms "attract mode" with Linux bash script
Only 1 teeny weeny issue, if you even want to call it that - I noticed you have "Tetris (cocktail set 1).mra" in the horizontal list. On my CRT that game comes up sideways. The regular "Tetris.mra" works fine so I just removed the cocktail one from the text file.
Thanks very much for this script!!

Re: Multi cores/roms "attract mode" with Linux bash script
I edited the time from 5 minutes (300 seconds) to 3 minutes (180) seconds and more recently to 2 minutes (120). I just ran it and saw it change through 4 or 5 games. I suspect the script may choke on certain special characters in mra file names and bomb out. I submitted a couple of issues to the repo with suggestions for improvements. In the mean ...

Re: Multi cores/roms "attract mode" with Linux bash script
Hmm the script doesn't seem to be working reliably for me. I created a new mra.txt file using the command line above and I noticed it only switched to another game once. After loading the script and waiting 5 min it switched to another game but then it just stays on that second game indefinitely. So I thought maybe it was getting hung up on one of ...

Re: Multi cores/roms "attract mode" with Linux bash script
Yes I noticed that, I was going to manually add games to the mra.txt file - thanks for the detailed command line! 2 quick questions; 1) Can I create 2 versions of the ArcadeAttractMode-On.sh script? e,g, ArcadeAttractModeVert-On.sh and ArcadeAttractModeHoriz-On.sh. I'd like to split them into one for vertical games and one for horizontal games but ...

Re: MiSTer 'Star Wars' Easter Egg
Does anyone know how to exit the Star Wars movie? It says to press <CTRL-C> and then <e> to exit but it's not working for me. I tried lower case e and capital E, also <CTRL-E> but I can't exit, I have to power off MiSTer. Any suggestions are appreciated
