Why are you even going into an argument about that statement?
Just let it pass, there's nothing to gain from that, this isn't facebook or twitter.

you could potentially take the cores that are open source, compile them and then it should report the information you require?

Re: Arcade Setup MiSTer Backend + Pi GUI Frontend

MiSTer is a great project but it really needs more focus on players instead of developers. This is not for gamers who can turn on a Playstation. This was an enthusiast project from the start, MiSTer wasn't the first and most likely won't be the last of it's kind you'd see. It's not that hard coming to grips with it's minimal layout. Personally i d...

Well he is the N64 core author, so that's no big surprise there.

From the Wikipedia page regarding that topic. i guess if you prefer PAL or NTSC comes down to personal preference or rather what you were used to playing i guess? i can imagine a person used to PAL wil find NTSC to fast or think that the timing might be wrong and vice versa. i asked the question why Robert (FPGAZumSpass) chose to play PAL titles in...

Were the drums in the Super Mario 64 intro always that fast?

maybe NTSC / PAL difference you're experiencing?

otherwise i couldn't tell.

Some games unfortunatly use the the NTSC resolution and scale them in the VI for PAL
Examples are WaveRace and Mario Party. It makes these games much blurrier with PAL.

I will play the PAL version regardless :)

Is that because of localization or personal preference?

i was more under the presumption like the previous cores had them added later on. (or am i sorely mistaken now?)

getting a stable core will be most likely a priority over save states in the first version(s), no doubt it'll be added in a later stage.

Using the roms in this way commercially is illegal. The rights owners probably wont bother with an individual but running a commercial buisness is bound to draw attention.

Re: Wai wai worlds and wagyan games not working?

i've no idea where i got this set from, all i know that it was a pretty old one.
they all had archaic and ines1 headers, i've converted the set to ines2 using the xml database from the nesdev forum.

i've not encountered a broken game as of yet, maybe aside from a homebrew i think.

good to hear you got it working Kathleen!

something with 4x speed is strange:

cd type CD
cd speed 1x

cd type CD
cd speed 4x
neo turf masters initial loading 1 minute 50 seconds

cdz doesn't work. i only get a white screen.

i've never played it before but i can faintly recall people were quite enthousiastic about Samurai Spirits (Shodown) RPG.

though it was only released in Japanese, i think there should be a translation out there as well these days, if you're into RPG's that is.

good to hear it got resolved.

i hate sd cards, i've ran into many an issue with these things.
if you check the card to see if it has bad / damaged clusters it reports it's all fine, but then you start reading from the card and it just can't read data properly.

if you're still at a loss, might give a new SD card a try, maybe it's starting to wear out?

if money's an issue, take the smallest possible size and load on a few basic cores with a few games.

you'd probably need to wire up a nvme / s-ata controller to the DE10 nano, total cost would probably exceed it's purpose. usb would be the cheaper solution, but no one os holding you back to do it yourself? i believe the MiSTer multisystem is open source now, so there's a starting point right there. shouldn't be too hard to wire it up right? i look...

if you have a crossover cable and manually set up the IP's and subnets you should be able to connect to your MiSTer, however relocating the router or setting up a switch connected to the router would be easier'ish. never mind i saw that Bas already mentioned crossover cable, i really should read all replies before replying next time....

might want to ensure your rom is not corrupted, check it's checksum and compare it to the nes20db xml file which should have checksums for most if not all nes roms out there. if your version has an iNES1 or achaic header might just flat out replace it instead of converting it instead. these are the checksums for the US version: <prgrom size="2...

welp still doesn't work for me, game boots fine and runs, but removing config file and running the core and reconfiguring, no dice. removed the roms, ran update_all again, same deal. only thing left would be to download it manually, but i'm under the presumption it won't matter a lot. other cores accept input from my controller just fine, tested it...
