Re: MiSTer Downloader Tool
Hey jvas, I'm the main maintainer of this tool.... Thanks. Will check that if there is another update of main and will let you know... So base_path entry can be completely deleted from the ini file? Exactly. Yeah, let me know in the next main update Seems to be working. Needed to cleanup after the first run: the same folders appear both on usb0 an...

Re: MiSTer Downloader Tool
Thanks for your answers. I was able to update MiSTER and MAIN.rbf manually via ssh, so the problem is not critical. With the old update script everything was working fine. This is the behaviour of the new script, where the author tried to update the main file in an atomic statement. For some unkown reason, it tires to back up the main mister files ...

Re: Cannot Update Main MiSTer Using Update All
eh, nevermind. You've decided what the problem is, and there's no way to convince you otherwise. Not really. The downloader supports the files to be split on different volumes. There is no need to have everything either on the internal SD or the USB. The donwloader.ini is configured accordingly. I would like to have the cores and scripts on the in...

Re: Cannot Update Main MiSTer Using Update All
Your fundamental problem is that you've plugged in a new hard drive *after* downloading everything to the SD card, so that the update script is getting confused. You've got some files on the SD and some files on the HD, which is an unanticipated configuration. Absolutely not correct. My configuratuin was set up way before the "new" updat...

I have no access to my MiSTer at my workplace, but the plan was that everything except the game data are on the internal SD card. All the game binaries on the USB0.

Re: Cannot Update Main MiSTer Using Update All
insted of replace fs2/src -> fs1/trgt copy fs2/src -> fs1/src.tempname (to the same filesystem as trgt with the same rights as trgt) rename fs1/trgt -> fs1/trgt.tempname : this is the critical point, where trgt no longer exists in its original name rename fs1/src.tempname -> fs1/trgt : it can also fail (very low chance) delete fs1/trgt.tempname (or...

Re: Cannot Update Main MiSTer Using Update All
OK, the Python documentation clearly says, that the "os.replace" function may fail (this is the situation in my case) if the source and destination files are on different filesystems. Fresh install is temporary solution, the problem arise as soon as there is a new update necessary.

Re: Cannot Update Main MiSTer Using Update All
I never said it was about the Mister files, just how I went around the problem. When it happened to me and made a post regarding the problem no one experienced this problem and I did not get any feedback so I decided to wait and see. Now that the problem happened to other users an issue should be opened for this problem. Ok, what I wanted to say i...

Re: Cannot Update Main MiSTer Using Update All
os.replace(src, dst, *, src_dir_fd=None, dst_dir_fd=None) Rename the file or directory src to dst. If dst is a non-empty directory, OSError will be raised. If dst exists and is a file, it will be replaced silently if the user has permission. The operation may fail if src and dst are on different filesystems. If successful, the renaming will be an a...

Re: A0486_Update_Top300_Pack script rsync errors
Thanks for the thorough reply! It looks like a failed updated did something to the VHDs and left them in this state. I didn't catch it because they launched fine in the AO486 core and i could get to games and stuff. I still had the original VHD files on my computer so after copying them over to the external HD I use for the MiSTer and running the ...

Re: eXoFlynn Top 300 DOS Pack Updates and Support
I asked it in another thread, but got no solution to the problem (https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=35741#p35741) During the update process the mounted vhd somehow becomes readonly, hence the update process fails. I'm not a Linux guru, don't know what to check and what to change. Would somebody be so kind and take a look at it? Thanks in advan...

No. The part of the update process is to update the content of this VHD.marcelosofth wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 11:40 pm Hello friends, I don't have the "IDE 0-1 Top 300 DOS Games.vhd" file, is it possible to run the script without having the vhd file?
