Roger, thanks for the testing. I'm the same with my A500. It's sitting there but i have to connect it up
I think I'd found that megaAGS pack, but i have no idea who's producing them and it would be nice to know.

Slowdown in games MegaAGS/WHDload/ADF
I was playing around with Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge the other day and noticed that there's a ton of slowdown in the intro, when the music is playing and it demos the in-game driving. I was loading from MegaAGS, and tried both PAL and NTSC modes, adjusting all sound and video options (the latter having to stay at 15kHz for my direct video setup)....

Re: Avoid sellers on Aliexpress
I buy from Aliexpress all the time, and while i've had one or two problems they've mostly been related to the language barrier. The 128MB 140MHz RAM module i bought was the cheapest one i could find online, and it turned up as advertised and works well.

Hmm, i still can't get Warcraft 2 running :( was there meant to be a subst command somewhere? Sorry to be a pain. Hopefully I'm not making you run in circles fixing the same stuff over and again :) Also, may i ask what the new joystick.exe file is for? What does it do? Can i run it to config anything? I filed an issue on the 7000 games list github....

Re: eXoFlynn Top 300 DOS Pack Updates and Support
One more, not sure if you fixed it because your fixes video has no sound, but... I couldn't get any sound in Wing Commander 2. Game loads fine, but is completely silent for me. if you go into e:\games\(yourwingcom2dir)\WC2DLX\CD\wing2\ and run winstall.exe you can set up the soundblaster for speech, port 220, IRQ 7, DMA 1. This then shows that spee...

Re: eXoFlynn Top 300 DOS Pack Updates and Support
Flynn, the System Shock 1_start.bat first line in your top300 pack looks like this: imgset ide11 "/cd/SystemSh/system_.cue" Should it be set to ide10? I did that and it works for me now... Also, i can't get Warcraft II to run at all, it just crashes after the CD fix you posted. Your video fix for that is down, by the way, but I can go int...

Re: eXoFlynn Top 300 DOS Pack Updates and Support
Some things not working on the MiSTer are due to config options not set right - I'm fixing those where i find them for my VHD. Other things might be compatibility-related, but the ExoDOS converter has recently added the MiSTer output option, so it's not irrelevant there either to my mind. They may not even want to do anything but flag such games, i...

Re: eXoFlynn Top 300 DOS Pack Updates and Support
Hi Flynn,
Where would be the best place to report non-working ExoDOS games that re not part of your top 300 pack? I'm happy to do it here, but would raising an issue on the exoDOS-converter github be preferred?

Re: SCUMMVM to BVM question
Most BVMs are only 15kHz. 640x480@60i is still 15kHz, but 480p is not. I'm not aware of the MiSTer using interlaced modes at all... though i suppose there's nothing stopping a core from doing it directly. I just don't know of any current ones that do it.
The (later) BVM's from the D and A series are multiformat.

Re: SCUMMVM to BVM question
At a guess, because i'm not using it myself... it's a linux script, not an FPGA core. So it might not want to run in anything lower than VGA 640x480p. Which won't show up on your 15kHz BVM. The one thing you could try is simply typing into the config file for Scummvm, but that might only affect the internal resolution, not the resolution the mister...

Re: Sony Multiscan CRT custom video_mode
I see. So what outputs at 256x224 and fits into 512x448 at an integer ratio? I think the Jotego GnG core will do that. And the Sega System 1 for wonderboy. Does the SNES normally output at that resolution too?

Re: eXoFlynn Top 300 DOS Pack Updates and Support
That fixed the audio glitches, but there's major stuttering during weapons fire that is pretty game breaking as of now. I'm hoping to find a solution, as I love this game. There's mention of a similar issue in the compatibility thread - the fix for which is use of a FAT16 disk rather than a FAT32 one. I'm not sure how viable an option that would be.

Re: eXoFlynn Top 300 DOS Pack Updates and Support
OK, so i'm up and running with my custom games list in TDL :) One thing i should say about the below is that having two partitions on the one VHD seems to stop guiformat-x64 from running. So you have to set up the partitions in FAT32 from the start. Any tips on general fixes to get games running? I haven't really started testing yet, but keen to av...

Re: eXoFlynn Top 300 DOS Pack Updates and Support
@buttersoft, yes exactly. Much obliged for the tips - the new version of eXoDOS-converter looks pretty slick. You only need to do that first conversion step, and after that it sets up TDL for you, no need for more processing! Your idea to use dummy zips looks nice, i must say. Though i do now need to plan for a slightly larger 32GB SD card for thi...

Re: Audio Amplifier, advice please
You can always split out a 3.5mm jack into two RCA plugs - might give you a few more options? There are tons of cheap amps on Ebay or Aliexpress, you could start looking at some cheap Lepai ones, taking their power ratings with a grain of salt of course. They'll certainly get you going.

That's great! The steps don't seem hard to follow. Any catches though? I presume you need to setup the right autoexec.bat and config.sys files, or is this handled in the script?madelk wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 3:31 am Anyway, here's the start of my script: https://github.com/madelk/expandziptovhd

Re: [MegaCD] Support for hybrid rom/cd images (Pier solar, MD+...)
Ok, so how the hell do i get Pier Solar to load? I've tried naming it cart.rom, naming another cart cart.rom, placing it in different folders, etc. If i load the megaCD core, and try to load a cue file, those work fine, but with that option i can't see Pier Solar to select it. Awesome, i like that. Any chance you could share a parts list? I'd really like to find those buttons, for one... Ahhh, i figured it out. Using an LCD monitor, you can go into the Archie core, load the desktop, go into confirguration>screen, and set the resolution to "normal" making sure to leave the interlaced box unticked. Then just turn on direct video in your mister.ini and it will load in 15kHz. I have no idea if i had to do it this way as my US...

Try tapping the "0" key on the Numpad while booting to set the Archimedes to the 15 KHz mode. I can't seem to get this to work, i still get a 31kHz split image. I've tried holding the key, and tapping it, pressing it once... Is there a chance someone could upload a 15kHz-confirmed Cmos.dat file for me? Because that would be awesome :)

Much obliged, anon. I do wish there was a list of how much RAM each core used, though AFAIK it's only NEOGEO that uses more than 32MB? Thus far, at any rate.
