Re: Show Us Your MiSTers

I'm a sucker for "all-in-one" designs, and this one is very clean! Excellent use of display, and the custom PCB is a really nice way to stay tidy. Inspiring work!

Re: Show Us Your MiSTers

Frame.jpg
The entire frame is free-standing without the side panels. The drawers will go in the openings at the top, bottom, and just underneath the control panel mounting platform. The hardware installation is obviously unfinished in this image - no keyboard will be necessary and the power supply will be mounted on the ceiling of that section.

Re: Show Us Your MiSTers

I used the router path for Moon Patrol from Classic Arcade Cabinets, generated a list of circle centers and radii from the corner along with starting and ending lengths along the edges, and re-derived the outline on the plywood, laying a straightedge along the tangents. I then clamped down jigsaw guides offset to those lines, cut the profile for ea...

Re: Show Us Your MiSTers

My MiSTer case is a bit oversized, and I'm not finished assembling it yet, but you can see it tucked inside before I put the last cover panel in the front: 20201108_192557.jpg Note, the back of my MiSTer case will have six dresser drawers in the back for clothes, and a small cabinet space for shoes and sundries...the side panels open like doors and...

Re: Home brew game for Galaxian core

The next step would be to burn it onto EEPROMs and try running it on original hardware...glad something of value came from your "confinement"!

Re: How to get Arcade cores to auto-boot after power cycle.

I found that the "lastcore" .ini setting only works for me with the associated 10-second timeout, but I get an ".rbf not found!" error if I negate the timeout.

Re: Preserving Arcade Core High Scores

It might be worth looking at the Defender Core - that hardware family had a battery backup (3 AA/LR6 Batteries) to save several daily/all-time high scores, so it would stand to reason there is not just a logical, but also physical, location for that information, and could springboard linking the ARM side to similar spots in other boards. I could, o...

Re: Environmental Discs of Tron - gpio?

Thanks! I am thinking Atari's "volcano" player select buttons have this function rather than the William's ones, though. It'll be a good place to check FPGA I/O for the logical output of those LEDs, which I suppose would be the foundation for EDOT outputs.

Re: Environmental Discs of Tron - gpio?

Because some Williams games would light up Player 1 and 2 Lights, specifically on the Robotron 2084-based systems, I would also like to at least understand what it would take to control these outputs and drive those lights realistically on a reproduction panel. I'm thinking with the Linux side of the chip it might be possible to use an Ultimarc USB...
