Wooh! Finally congrats!
Is there a list of common resolutions used in the 486 core with the appropriate video_mode equivalents?

MT-32 Pi No sound

I have set up the MT-32 Pi. I am getting a response and the MISTER OSD menu options. MIDI appears to be sent to the mt32 pi as the bars respond to music cues. But I get no audio back into the mister. Am I missing something? I've performed a few tests with some suggestions from discord. Testing audio output from PWM and the pi output works fine. The...

Re: VGA Mode Changing for 720x400 and 640x400

OK got video_info working.. didn't see it further down in my INI so it was being set then unset again later. I did verify I had vga_scaler, forced_scandoubler and direct_video all set to 0. In this github thread: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/ao486_MiSTer/issues/6 Sorg mentions "ao486 outputs HDMI resolution through VGA on this core. So you...

It used to be working just fine until Sorgelig forced the core through VGA scaler.

More control of integer scaling.

Is there a way to force how many times the video is integer scaled? It seems integer scaler always tries to fit the 720p resolution and will scale as many times as it can to fit the screen. Can you force 1x image (no scaling) 2x or 3x? I'm trying to use my capture card to capture the 720p signal and create an actual size image without having to sca...

Force Enable VGA Scaler?

Please undo this change. I do not wish to use the VGA scaler on this core. I use a CRT monitor and prefer the native resolutions with proper scanlines.

hsync may not be perfect but it is much preferred over the janky scaler which messes with symmetry.

Re: Outboard MIDI

I use the Roland UM-1 to connect to an SC-55. Doesn't require any special configuration other than switching UART to MIDI mode.

Works great. https://www.roland.com/us/products/um-one_mk2/

The midi input works just as well. I was using cakewalk DAW in windows 3.1 and a Arturia Keystep midi controller connected to the UM-1.

direct_video = 0 is my default option.
Your LCD monitor can probably just handle the off-spec hsync without jitter. I assume it has display lag and has some sort of internal analog to digital conversion that corrects it.

Re: Advice for Setting Up DOS Games

Basically you're setting up a DOS computer which I'm sure you know but for others that stumble on this thread. After you get your DOS installation you'll need mouse drivers. Cutemouse is the go-to and you can just drop that executable on the vhd anywhere. Then you can add it to the autoexec.bat edit system.cfg edit autoexec.bat dir /w /p cd cd.. Th...

Re: VGA Output, Scalers, and CRTs

You can have native resolutions for the most part. While using VGA scaler set the video to 4x and the sync to variable. Save those settings to the default in the menu. Now go to ini settings and set vga_scaler to 0 It works in most cases for me but because of the hsysnc it's a bit jittery but still far better than the janky scaler. Need those chunk...

So my wifi dongle stopped working and was really hot. Not sure if it was a shoddy dongle or perhaps the power supply I'm using is underpowering the device?

I have the USB and power supply from misteraddons and it uses the barrel splitter and switch.

I don't think Sorgelig has plans to. Without understanding the technical hurdles I hope he reconsiders. This is an open source project though so maybe someone else can step in here since he's focusing on other great stuff like cd rom drive implementation.

Thrustmaster Top Gun USB flight stick

Hey guys
I'm trying to get my USB flight stick working the Thrustmaster Top Gun

X and Y axis inputs aren't detected on the mister but button inputs are.

Would there perhaps be a way to set up a manual config file for this if I can determine the outputs of the axis?

I'd really like to use this for the ao486 core.

That could work. The only drawback I could see is if you update your configuration... peripheral drivers or the core gets new hardware and needs configured, you'll have to do it for every single VHD

Unmount Disk Drive?

In the ao4866 core menu I am unable to unmount a boot disk.
Changing the first bootable drive to hard drive only doesn't seem to have any effect.

Because of this I am stuck having to boot into a dos installation every reboot.
Am I missing something?
I suppose my only recourse is to delete my boot disk from the drive.

Through an external CDROM drive?

I've got virtual drives working no problem.
You can have the images in the mistetfs shared folder and mount them with SHSUCDX.

Throw the commands before some launcher script and it's pretty seamless.

I think this is what most people are doing for now.
