Re: MiSTer Laggy

If i have my LG OLED on game mode with VRR switched on (on the TV) but VRR off on mister at 1080p i get a 2.85ms but as soon as i switch on any VRR settings on the mister i get around 10ms.. really weird. Which model do you have? I have a 55" CX. The lowest I can achieve is 9.166ms at 60hz with VRR on at the TV and MiSTer. If I turn VRR off i...

Re: MegaCD Redbook Audio Pop Issue

I noticed the test build on Discord yesterday. I played a bit of Ecco, Lunar, and about an hour of Popful Mail last night. So far I haven't been able to discern pops or crackles like before. Thanks so much!

Re: MiSTerFPGA Y/C Out Module (Direct - S-Video / Composite Output) - Update

Sorry, 16-255 is for some adapters. More documentation. Again, I'm looking forward to MisterAddons' new solution so that we can hopefully have a more consistent and fully featured analog out solution and not deal with all these inconsistencies anymore. https://mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_MiSTer/advanced/directvideo/ Yeah, I have a hard time with ...

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core

The issues I described were with IO Board v6.1. The design itself is 18-bit and predates the PSX core. Direct Video is the option to display full 24-bit video from the PSX core on CRTs, for now. It looks like the MiSTer CRT page was updated with the latest info on March 1st. It states in simple terms that direct video allows for "better colour...

Re: MiSTerFPGA Y/C Out Module (Direct - S-Video / Composite Output) - Update

Interesting. Thanks. I did a quick search of the thread and don't see any discussion of the hdmi_limited mister.ini option. Have you played with this option when using HDMI out to a modern display, as well as with Direct Video? The near black issues you mention make me wonder about that. If I remember correctly, hdmi_limited was added specifically ...

Re: MiSTerFPGA Y/C Out Module (Direct - S-Video / Composite Output) - Update

Nice diagram, matijaerceg. Thanks for all the examples, KennyL. Can you specify what model of PS1 you're using? Color banding in early models with games like Tomb Raider are well documented, but I wonder if FMV playback differs across models. I only have an SCPH-1001 on hand. I need to go grab my 5501 from storage and do some comparisons. Even as a...

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core

Haha, sorry about that! I really enjoy it with direct video, no dithering, and 24bit color in svideo though.

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core

I have a similar setup and preferences to yours, so I'm curious about this topic. My results look much the same as yours with Tales of Phantasia. However, Misteraddons has tweeted that the current analog out options are lacking (IO Board levels that are too high and low, 18-bit vs 24-bit concerns, unreliable Direct Video dongle quality with differe...

Re: MegaCD Redbook Audio Pop Issue

I'm still having this issue as well. I did switch to ethernet and server loading instead of SD like mentioned in my February post. I'm going to do some more in-depth testing again, but I wanted to mention that if I load the Ecco bin/cue in the PSX core (I have to boot with the miscellaneous option "CD Lid open") and then play tracks in th...

Re: MegaCD Redbook Audio Pop Issue

Since there hasn't been a post in a while, I'll just say that this is still a problem. Occurs with Ecco the same as in the examples. So far I've loaded ISO/CUE and CHD from local SD and CIFS over USB Wifi. Will be switching to ethernet next week, but I expect the issue will remain.

This is now resolved, apparently from today's update. I just played through to the end of an arcade game and everything worked great!

Re: Xbox Series/Core Controller

Yeah, that's a lot to ask. I've been using it wired, by the way. It would also be interesting to know if it truly offers less latency over the same wireless protocol as the old controllers though. Thanks for working on that script. I wonder if there are more devices supported in recent Linux releases as well. For example, I have a Victrix Xbox arca...

Xbox Series/Core Controller

Has anyone tried one of these yet? I was curious after reading about the latency improvements listed here. I have one now, and have to say I am seriously impressed. https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/03/16/xbox-series-x-latency/ Indeed, it feels more responsive to me than the older Xbox Controllers that MisterAddons tested at about 6ms with 1000hz po...

Victrix Pro FS Arcade Stick Support (Xbox Model)

Hi there. Is there a process to request support for new devices? The PS4 version of the Victrix stick works on MiSTer, but not the Xbox version. It works fine in Ubuntu 20.04, so I assume support can be added. I'm mostly clueless here, unfortunately. The hardware IDs shown in Windows are USB\VID_0E6F&PID_0205. The LEDs and buttons light up on t...
