Re: IBM PCJr Core

AO486 is way to fast/complex for PCJr/Tandy 1000 stuff. Also most games made for the original 4.77mhz Intel 8088 were quite speed sensitive and don't take too well to different timings. In terms of features, I think a less is more aproach would probably be best at first. Work on getting compatibility with PCJr stuff done, then move on to Tandy, the...

Re: Support for Linux-side Interfaces [Feature Request]

I'm working on a script witch would also greatly benifit from a command to directly load roms.
The MGL workaround should work just fine for now, but it's sad that Sorgelig is seemingly set on keeping the MiSTer as hard to use as possible.

Re: Questions for script writing, Retrode 2 support

oh shit, I just need to cat out a mgl file and send this command to MiSTer_cmd... echo "load_core /media/fat/mygame.mgl" > /dev/MiSTer_cmd This is actually possible now without any weird hacky workarounds. (I wan't clean understandable code) Now that it's relatively easy to script out, I might actually start this project. (I'm not really ...

Re: IBM PCJr Core

also, I'm not so sure about the Tandy, but the PCjr has a TON of documentaion availible for it on Archive.org. This include full circuit diagrams and hi res photos of the original boards. I also know some people who make hardware mods for the PCjr that can awnser questions if politely asked. I'm not saying this would be an easy core to make, but mo...

Re: Questions for script writing, Retrode 2 support

hmm... looks like a bunch of work will be required for the controllers too. Also they finally started working on directly launching a rom from a command so that should make working on this script much easier. I seen some other people working on simular stuff so the idea has some merrit. RMC did a video where he scanned a UPC code and it launched a ...

Re: IBM PCJr Core

I would be pretty interested in a PCjr Core. Also I have one so I could awnser a lot of questions about what it can/can't do. Plus I am willing to test stuff and compare the core to the original. I would love a PCjr core as it's such a weird little PC (not actually IBM PC compatible despite being a IBM PC) But honestly I'd rather have a Tandy 1000S...

Re: Neo Geo CPU Overclocking?

I would love to have this implemented as a toggleable option for the official NEOGEO core.

As long as it's not enabled by default than it doesn't matter if it breaks compatibility/accuracy. This is the same as the sprite limit hack on other cores, cool option but I want it off by default.

Re: DIY cartridge reader add-on board

Sorry for resurrecting a old thread, but I figured it'd be relevant and people ask this a lot anyways so here we go... I'm working on a script to add support for the Retrode2 USB. Early tests are showing that it should work ok. https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1778 As long as whoever wants to make a addon board makes it so it behaves...

Re: Questions for script writing, Retrode 2 support

ok thanks. It sucks that you can't tell it to load a core, but it'll still work ok for what I'm planning.
It won't be 100% automatic, but it'll be good as a proof of concept at least.

And once I get that working I'll try and see why the MiSTer isn't detecting the controllers on the retrode2. Hopefully it's just user error.

Script for loading cartridges from usb cart dumpers

I want to make a simple script to automatically detect the Retrode, dump the rom and the ram save from the physical cart, then launch the appropriate core for the type of rom that was dumped. I will also make a matching script to later detect the retrode and save the save rom back to the cart. I'm kind of starting from scratch here, is there any do...

I re-registered, it remembered my address, but not my purchase history? They having Database issues?
