Did System1 support vertical mode configuration for IO boards in an earlier release? I thought it did but might be wrong. On my TATE vertical CRT the games are upside down, which can be fixed via a menu option on the JT cores.

It would be cool to have a maintained Minimig Coffin build with an auto update mechanism.

These settings are the closest I've come to perfection - RTG is perfect and PAL pretty close:

vscale_mode=1
forced_scandoubler=0
video_mode=5

Has anyone managed to configure the minimig core to display both RTG workbench and a correctly scaled PAL video mode for games on a PC CRT? I'm using a HDMI to VGA video adapter into a Philips Brilliance PC CRT. RTG is working with a fixed video mode on the PC CRT.

But the PAL output doesn’t look great due to the scaling to 800x600. Same with 640 x 480.

If you're using a PC CRT (31khz) then you can use the scaler and rotate the screen in the menu - the output is good quality.

Has anybody had any luck getting RTG to work over direct video (HDMI to VGA) with a PC CRT? I've tried but can't get a signal to show. This is with the ready to go coffin torrent image that is around. I've tried different [Minimig] video settings but no luck. I can get AO486 to work no problem

It’s because the game uses an Interlaced video mode.

The switch should switch permanent, seems like a bug in the core, open an issue on Github. I used this method on the MiST version of the core all the time with my 15 KHz monitor (until a function to save the CMOS was added on MiST, that allowed me to save the setting). Did you use any special settings on the PC output? I've been using a 720x480p output (set via Nvida control panel) to the Corio and mostly the default settings with tweaks via the "Source" menu to TL and BR settings.

I'd add scaler options in the core menu.

I believe the vga_scaler setting is only applied to the IO board VGA out rather than the HDMI port with:

direct_video=1

enabled.

That's a shame. I just switched to a PC CRT for MiSTer but keeping the Corio for Dreamcast, PC and Xbox.
