Re: No output with Villena's composite/s-video adapter

Hi. Basically there are 2 possible causes: Your mister.ini is configured for 31khz signal. So you must put vga_scaler=0 and force_scandoubler=0 to 15khz. The pin 9 of VGA has not 5V to power the adapter. Maybe the problem is switcher or the vga cable. Some vga cables don't wire the pin 9. Try connect first directly with your io board configuring th...

Re: The State of DACs for the MiSTer and Direct Video

I had one more test for the day, I tested one of the Mister Addon's Analog I/O boards. To be clear there appears to be two versions of the Ref 6.1 analog I/O board, on the dac test results sheet, the Mister Multisystem shows what the what I call "high" version looks like. The Mister Addons board in the sheet shows the "low" ver...

Yes. I am compensating for this case. The first 4 boards had this problem. You can choose between half refund or I send a new board. In both cases you don't have tu return the old board.

A new board would be great, much appreciated :D

I would say it's a L2S audio mod like we see on other AIOs

The DE-10 DAC can be a bit noisy

Yes, but the audio DAC is not in the de10 nano. It's in the analog io board.

Re: MiSTer FPGA Update Module Retro Castle?

It's a I2S module (better audio DAC) for boards with standard DAC. I did some similar patch board with my older SLIM/DRIVE model. You can see how to install in this video.

It's not needed in current models MINI/PLUS because they have I2S by default

Nice. I'm assuming this is the version with the active luma trap, hence the power requirement?

Yes. You need 5V on pin 9 of VGA port. So analog io board is required

Re: Antonio Villena's Decapod vs Octopod

Decapod is also SNAC. There are two versions: Decapod USB (cheaper and only USB) and regular Decapod (with SNAC-DB9, MT32 and USB). Is not a SNAC compatible with official io boards but it works with official cores with SNAC support. But for OSD and 2player support I recommend the forked cores. Thanks for answering Antonio! I own the Decapod and love it. It is my favorite device. It is NOT SNAC. It uses USB Deamonbyte controller chip. It is supper fast and I cant tell the difference between that and SNAC. There is a SNAC device called SNAX if you want ps SNAC. It is on Misteraddons. It also supports the light gun for ps as well. I never tried octopod so I dunno how t...

Thanks Ricardo for notice me. The JAMMA adapter act as generic USB HID joystick device. That's one connected the MiSTer recognize as two USB joysticks/gamepads, so you can remap combos as you do with other joysticks. Re: MT32-pi with Antonio Villena DB9 Connector

I made a MT32-pi using my pi 3 B v1.2 and looking at the data connectors made a db9 connector to the gpio pins on the pi. So would oil imperium work properly on a MiST? Are the 2 DB9s on a MiST like SNAC on a MiSTer? Also would Antonio Villena’s Mister Plus and his implementation of Enhanced SNAC with the Minimig DB9 core work as well? As I know the Minimig core has no SNAC support for mouse. In case of SNAC support, the DB9 port of the MiSTer with DB9 (SLIM, DRIVE, ...

There is another version of SNAC, with DB9 connector instead USB3 that supports official cores and also has enhacements for forked cores (updated) like:
-2 player support
-osd manage

Also doesn't require middle snac adapter board because level converters are included into the IO board

That switch toggles function between pin 5 and pin 7 for the two DB9 connectors. That's for support genesis controllers (near de edge position) and joysticks with autofire (near the center position).
