Re: Autosave

Does anyone know how I could manually add the feature to just auto save to the SD card when SRAM is written to? Just about every console flashcart does this automatically and I've never had an issue with cards and they're so cheap at this point I really don't care as I don't believe it's even an issue. I'd just like this ability myself but unsure o...

Re: Has Anyone Tried Playing Anvil of Dawn?

One consideration: DOSBox-X has Fluidsynth and MUNT built-in, so you can get the same result as the AO486 plus MT32-Pi, with *probably* better stability. I don't particularly trust the AO486 core. Thanks for the suggestion, I tend to avoid dosbox though because of how inaccurate it is with speed, but for a game like this I suppose it would be fine...

Re: Should I use 720p or 1080p?

2560x1440 (widescreen 1440p) now also seems to be supported. That should allow the GBA to integer scale 9x So try setting video_mode=14 in the ini file if your 4k monitor supports it. I remember when this was found out using an ini setting, but this would randomly crash my mister, but I was using the stock power supply then. Is this still an issue...

Yea it seems to boot fine, but I'd hate to commit to a playthrough to have some sort of game breaking bug. I'll give it a go.

Has Anyone Tried Playing Anvil of Dawn?

How is the performance? I was thinking of doing another playthrough and would like to try it on the mister if possible vs using DosBox. I didn't see it on any compatibility lists nor in the top 300 games release.

Have you tried turning on/off sync on green on the I/O board? Also did you set YbCbCr=1 in the mister.ini.

EDIT: I see you did set the INI. Try the Sync on Green switch on the I/O board.

Re: DualSense

Picked a Dual Sense 5 up today. Has anyone else experienced disconnects via bluetooth if the controller stays idle for a very short amount of time, like 30s-1m. Mine disconnects if I'm not constantly pressing something. Is this a general bluetooth setting on the mister that can be changed or is it a Dual Sense 5 issue?

Re: Possible image rotation to the analog output?

It’s actually pretty easy, and in my experience there is no noticeable latency. https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=3527 The one thing preventing it is there seems to be a bug with MiSTer that cuts off a small portion of the right side. Not sure if its been fixed. Someone should file a github report so it will get the proper attention ...

FPGA64 wrote: Wed Jan 12, 2022 3:09 pm No its not trivial. You would have to introduce a framebuffer and hence lag. Real arcades simply turned the monitor on the side. Iif the game dipswitches dont support rotation then you are out of luck.

Would it be possible to add the image rotation to the analog output? It'd be nice to play the vertical arcade SHMUPSwithout having to flip my crt to its side. Is this something that can be done feasibly?

Re: Possible to simulate NTSC dot crawl via filters?

I wouldn't expect video filters to get much more sophisticated on the DE10-nano; it has no GPU. Remember: the cores don't even support basic bezels/borders because they'd be too taxing. Yea, I began to realize this after making this thread and looking into how filter files were created. Unfortunate, but I'm still happy we're able to enjoy what we ...

Re: Possible to simulate NTSC dot crawl via filters?

The first question is rhetorical. But I guess that went over your head. My reply addresses the ridiculous of your request. Composite Blend and Gaussian blur isn't the same as dot crawl. One simulates the color blending on a CRT, the other (what you asking) is noise on the line. Just convert your video down to composite video and use a dollar store...

Just tried Reshade Retroarch CRT effects on MAME and it almost makes me think of selling my Mister. Totally atmospheric, it feels like gaming behind glass. I love all the crazy artefacts it can do. The rolling screen distortion is crazy! Yea, I'm guessing it won't be possible because the Mister doesn't use shaders to simulate the affect, just filt...

Re: ETA on adding the new video processing method?

LCD grid look can be done with the normal filters for about 2 years now. Those filters appear to be gone from the official repository where update_all.sh grabs them from, I'm guessing it's because the shadow mask filters were implemented. When using the update script, all those LCD filters are now missing in my filter folder. So I'm unsure where t...

Hello, any ETA on when GBA (and some of the Arcade cores) will be getting the additional Video Processing filters that were recently revamped? I tried looking at the source for the...

Do you have the MD5 off of each ROM (the working and non-working)? Do the glitches occur on original hardware? (JP MegaDrive) I have a JP cart of this and it does not happen on a real megadrive. I've had this exact same glitch happen when using the mister onboard DDR3, but using the SDRAM solved it. Unsure what caused it in this situation, I guess...
