Re: Update_all deleted all my console cores except 2

Well, starting fresh with a new filter= did fix my problems. So thank you for that suggestion!
Maybe the (relatively) recent work on downloader didn't play nice with my old list of filters...cleaning them out was probably in order anyway.

Re: Update_all deleted all my console cores except 2

I double-checked the filter list just now against:
https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Distrib ... rs-feature
There appear to be no errors, and nothing was changed here recently. Any other ideas?

Re: Update_all deleted all my console cores except 2

I did a bit more sleuthing, and can add on the following. According to: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Downloader_MiSTer I should d/l into my /Scripts folder "downloader.sh". Interestingly, I have never had this script. Rather, my Update_all.sh appears to be identical to downloader.sh (maybe a name-change occurred at some point)? Further...

Update_all deleted all my console cores except 2

Hi all, After running update_all (for the first time in 4-5 months), all of my console cores (_Console) have been deleted, except for two: SMS_20230225.rbf TurboGrafx16_20230102.rbf This has never happened before. I do use downloader.ini and filter out (e.g. !core_name) many cores. Could some of the distribution references have changed (such as [di...

Re: N64 Core

hi yall! Sorry, I'm a little late to the game...if I want to have a useable n64 core, is it enough to simply follow the instructs at: https://vampier.net/N64/ under the heading, "Updater implementation of the N64 core" ? Specifically, that page makes no mention of needing a separate unstable Mister build along with the n64 core... Is that...

Re: Vimana / Same! Same! Same! Release: 20230526

First off, thanks for continuing to pump out these awesome releases! 2 issues / questions: 1) my blisster port SNES controller wasn't registering any button presses when trying to set the controls within the Fireshark core. I had no problems using a gamepad plugged in via USB. This is the first game (arcade, console) where I have had this problem. ...

Re: The Result of My Search for a Great MiSTer Display

what theyre describing is image retention, and ive seen that happen with the 1st stage in the arcade popeye core, and also from leaving the progear demo running for a long time. this can also happen with the PSX core when using bob instead of weave in certain game menus (eg silent hill). its ultimately a dice roll on if the panel will do it or not...

Re: The Result of My Search for a Great MiSTer Display

A word of warning for anyone using the 240p test suite with this monitor - I ran the Genesis one for a few minutes and flickering vertical bars remained burned into the screen for hours afterwards. Fortunately they went away, but was a bit worrying. Anybody have any idea why this would be the case, with this monitor? Agreed, it seems a little worr...

Re: Shout out to RndMnkIII

So after a little investigation, I answered my own question re: the screen flipping and different MRAs. The patch maker (aka JunoMan) states the following, in response to the query: "Is this a factory issue present on all Athena PCBs?" JunoMan: "Yep. Was designed that way. Jamma but not following the standard as such." source: h...

@RndMnkIII "The flip option inside other settings > flip is know to glitch the screen when is activated. The better option is save settings and reload the Core one o several times." >>> I am getting graphical glitches, which I can "clean up" if I reset a few times...is this the suggested fix for using your base, non-patched MRA?...

Re: Cannot Load "Lords of Thunder (USA)"

@SwedishGojira, that link to the github with the hashes is super useful! But I must say, it also mirrors why users find this so confusing! On that github, the claimed correct file is named: [BIOS] TurboGrafx CD Super CD-ROM2 System V3.01 (USA).pce (with MD5 = 98D43A097A165B03DF170FD5C2AD2C2F) but as per the fix: "BIOS pack has been updated wit...

Re: Cannot Load "Lords of Thunder (USA)"

Thanks all that have chimed in. I found a BIN/CUE version of "LoT (USA)", plugged in the Japanese Super CD-ROM 3.00 BIOS, and now it's working. That being said, can anybody please share the hash of the "correct dump" of the US BIOS, aka the version that has the NON-legible last line of copyright info? As I mentioned, the bios_ge...

Re: Cannot Load "Lords of Thunder (USA)"

Note: @aberu mentioned that the bios_getter script wasn't fetching the correct bios here:

viewtopic.php?t=2323

He noticed the exact same thing I have with the last line being legible...
If this was indeed a bug, it doesn't appear that it's been fixed yet...
Also, what's this about a v3.01 bios???

Cannot Load "Lords of Thunder (USA)"

I've spent considerable time trying to get "Lords of Thunder (USA)" to work. I used the bios_getter script to plop the "official" bios (as cd_bios.rom) into: /media/fat/Games/TGFX16-CD/ The game freezes after hitting "push run button!" The bios I am using (as per the script) is: Super CD 3.1.pce >>> renamed to cd_bios....

Can anybody confirm that turning on/off autofire works via the keyboard/F12 method? ie "Maybe if you can't assign an OSD button using the control method then you could try the keyboard method where you keep the assigned button pressed and then tap F12 on your keyboard to set it up." Try as I might, I cannot get autofire turned on via F12....

Hey yall, so the first doc linked to above specifies the following re: the Scramble core: Scramble 20180929 240p 15.86kHz, 60.6Hz However, the fix to my display issue was to set "video_mode=9" which maps to "1920x1080@50" aka a 50hz video mode. Why is Scramble listed as 60.6Hz but you knew to set the display to 50Hz? What am I m...
