While it can not replicate the adaptive blend feature, using a blurry horizontal video filter seems to achieve a similar effect.
To my eyes the GS interpolation set to around 20-30 looks similar to the composite blend filter.
I'm not sure what the differences are on a technical level though.

So the CH and BW probably represent the type of filter being used. In these examples, CH most likely stands for Chebyshev and BW for Butterworth filter. The numbers, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc... refer to the order of the filter. Usually this is how aggressive the filter is. So for example LPF 20Khz 1st order butterworth and LPF 20Khz 3rd order butterworth...

There is also a version for the Sharp X68000. I haven't played it much past the first stage, but it does seem to run nearly the same speed as the arcade.

You'd probably have to dig through the MiST section over on the Atari Forums to find an exact date. I know part of the impetus for Sorg developing the Mister was the lack of a good, affordable scaler to use with the Mist. The last post to the Mist scaler thread was from Sorg himself Feb. 15 2018. That's not a definite indication of when work began ...

If you are only scaling up to something like 480p you might be better served by just using the scandoubler instead of the full scaler.
Not sure how it handles interlaced content though.

IMGBurn may let you convert it. If not, you could mount the ISO with something like WinCDEmu and then rip it to bin/cue with IMGBurn.

So this may not be the perfect solution, but I've had good results. I just use multiples of the generic PAL or NTSC resolutions of 720x576 and 640x480 respectively and using vscale_mode=1. So in your case, your monitor maxes out at 1280x1024 at 60Hz, so it might be able to swing 1440x1152 at 50Hz. If not, you could do 1152x864 which would give you ...

Look under System:Prefs, you should have Picasso96Mode.

If you have gamma correction enabled, try disabling it. I had some similar issues with it enabled.

I had a number of Sony L5 PVMs. I was never able to get a good picture when sending it a 640x480 signal. It would result in a dark, off center image. 720x480 seemed to work fine though.
Can't quite tell from your pictures if that's the issue you are having.
That was all using a PC though. I got rid of them long before I got a Mister.

Enthropy is correct. It's not really until you get to VESA modes that refresh rates are typically user configurable. You didn't always have to use UniVBE though as some graphics cards manufacturers provided their own utilities for such. It won't work on a 15khz CRT yet. Maybe in the future. But if I try with this video mode: video_mode=320,8,32,24,240,4,3,16,6048 I can get decent graphics in a CRT. I think even if you had a fixed frequency card in Mister you would run in to compatibility issues with DOS software. If the card is not VGA,EGA,CGA (or whatever the particular game or application expects) then it most likely just wont run. I would add two for the Genesis:
Trouble Shooter/Battle Mania and its Japan only sequel Battle Mania Daiginjō.
The mechanics are similar to Hyperdyne Sidearms, which is also excellent, both the PC Engine port and arcade original.

The game runs as expected. It requires a much more powerful CPU than what the ao486 core has. You have to remember back in the day just meeting the minimum system requirements didn't guarantee the game would run at what we now consider "playable" frame rates. The Mister core falls below even the minimum requirements for this game.

With the exception of the SNES specific one the rest are pretty generic. If you open the filter files there are more details about the filters. For example Arcade LPF 2khz 1st has a description: "LPF 2khz 1st Order combined with 2nd order at 20khz". I myself don't have enough knowledge about filters to be able to explain what that means, ...

I think of the standard(ish) gamepads for the PS1 and Saturn, only the 3D Saturn controller has no modern equivalent. I say that solely based on the fact that it has 6 face buttons. I guess an original Xbox controller would be the closest since it had those weirdly offset white and black face buttons.
