Re: New Folders Created During Update Odd?

The Wonderswan Color core shortcut seems to have problems. It doesn't load any roms.
Anyone else experience this?

The regular rbf core loads roms just fine. Maybe it's due to not loading the boot roms correctly?

Edit:

Fixed it by copying boot.rom and boot1.rom to the wonderswancolor folder, and rebooting properly before trying to run a game again.

Honestly, I would not mind them being updated only once a year. So many unnecessary writes.
For now, I've just turned them off. Barely use cheats anyway.

4 Button joypad setting acting weird. Gravis mode not recognized

Copied from my a0486 issue entry: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/ao486_MiSTer/issues/90 "When I tried to play a bunch Commander Keen games with 4 button support I noticed some problems. Movement goes Up-Left automatically, and trying to reconfigure in game won't help and sometimes even crashes the core. This does not happen when using a contr...

Re: Daemonbite adapter problem in 2 player mode

I also built the Daemonbite two controller adapter. And I have zero problems, both controllers function as separate inputs. Make sure you use the files from here: https://github.com/MickGyver/DaemonBite-Retro-Controllers-USB/tree/master/SegaTwoControllersUSB Validate the script, and make sure no errors show up. Then upload the script. Did you conne...

Re: Neo Geo Spinner Support

I had the same issues and asked Sorgelig about it. First make sure you select Spinner/Joystick or Spinner as an input setting in the NeoGeo OSD settings. Then, you also have to enable spinner/paddle input inside the supported games themselves or via dip settings. -Hypernoid in AES mode, go to options in main menu, and select spinner. in MVS mode, c...

Always have been fascinated with this project.
I would welcome a Pico-8 core with my whole heart.
I was one of the 2 lone people who entered the Pico-8 as a suggestion in the big mister survey,
so it could benefit from some more exposure.
Let’s keep this thread active :)

Instead of vga_scaler=1, you can also try vscale_mode=1

vga_scaler=1 gave me big black lines on most resolutions.
with vscale_mode=1 all resolutions seem fine.

Re: C64 Gameloading depending on game extension

That won't happen probably, most if not all old computer cores expect you to be a little savvy and look up how they work. What I do is store a collection of readme files for cores that have specific load instructions. For example here is my C64 readme: D64: 1. type LOAD"$",8 then LIST 2. type: LOAD"programname",8,1 OR move besid...

Request: Second mouse support for SNES

Figured it would make sense to also make a topic here.

Today I tried to play Arkanoid co-op with 2 spinner controllers, but noticed it's impossible to assign a mouse to both P1 and P2. It's either P1 or P2.
This should be an easy to implement feature, because the snes supports 2 mouses natively.

I would also love to have second mouse input support.
This week I built 2 Spinner controllers, but sadly realized I won't be able to use them both in tandem. Was looking forward to play some sweet SNES Arkanoid co-op.
Hope this gets an update! :)

Re: GUN2CRT, the new universal CRT lightgun adapter

That's great to hear. Hope you can get your hands on a Volume controller or find someone who can give you the needed data :) The Cthulhu doesn't score that well in some lag tests. But I never really noticed it myself. It still would be cool if it works. I'm already thinking of just swapping it out with a Brook Retro Board for ease of use. Works bet...

Re: GUN2CRT, the new universal CRT lightgun adapter

3 questions, regarding various peripherals/controllers: Would it be possible to add Namco Paddle/Volume controller support? That would be great for Arkanoid and other cores that support it. Re: .CHD out of sync - Rondo of Blood

There are no issues when you have accurate rips. At least in my experience. All my bin/cue rips to chd turned out fine. Only ran into problems with iso/wav files from translations and hacks, those had missing seconds with audio tracks. Mounted them with Deamontools lite, then used UltraIso to convert them to bin/cue and finally ran a chd conversion...

Re: 15hz CRT support through CGA/EGA card simulation?

Old tv's are generally capable of displaying 320×200. Slightly above or below 240 lines was common, as analog tubes had no fixed resolution. Old consoles and computers used many different resolutions. And black lines should only exist when a resolution is higher than the used amount of lines. A PAL SNES game for example will often have black bars d...

Re: 15hz CRT support through CGA/EGA card simulation?

Wouldn't you need a completely different IO board for the 9 pin TTL video? I think HDMI is TTL, but way different and there's nothing to adapt vga back to 9 pin let alone hdmi. I always thought TTL was similar to RGB, but now learned there's actually a whole other thing called RGBI (RGB + Intensity). Very interesting! From what I understand it's d...

Re: 15hz CRT support through CGA/EGA card simulation?

I don't think it's a matter of how many users will use it. But more about if it can it be done, and how easy it is to implement. A poll however would definitely be nice. I expect there's quite a lot of CRT Mister users because of the accuracy and authentic retro feel. If you'd want to be as era accurate as possible , I suppose EGA 15khz support wou...

15hz CRT support through CGA/EGA card simulation?

I don't know if this has been discussed before. But at least I tried and failed finding anything about it. Would it in theory be possible to output proper 15khz resolutions by simulating an EGA card? It would be awesome to display those old CGA/EGA games in their original non scandoubled resolutions on a CRT. I was contemplating buying an isa EGA c...
