Re: NES Composite Output
Thanks for the answers.
It's so ironic that I crave for a rougher picture output from mister. Taking into account so many people strive for rgb-modded console perfection.
But roughening things up now and again can just be a pleasure...

Re: NES Composite Output
Has there always been a vga to composite adapter?
Or is it a new thing?
Has it been made specifically to downgrade the mister signal?

Re: IO Board v6.0 Fan-Selection
So noctua 5v it became. I stubbornly compared all the fans. But the noctua unsurprisingly had the most pleasant "sound" while still pushing some air on 3.3v.
So I took it. I guess in the long run w its 6 year warranty it'll serve me well altough the hmhm "CLUTTERED" boxing and too many extras I don't care about...

Force 256px option
Hey,
can anyone shed more light on the option to force 256px in the snes-core.
I sort of can't see a difference while switching it on or off, except for the picture displayed moving a slight bit to the left/right.
Should I always leave the option on?

I guess just cuz its a failed system, doesnt exclude it from preservation. Just feels like something just to have to "complete" sega history, which is a nicetohave.

I think it's as overblown as the fan fears. You asked. fan fears——> do you mean people fearing failure earlier because of not providing a decent cooling solution? I dont want to seem arrogant or somethin, just asking cause I never heard the term before. Yes, sorry - I realize I could have worded that better. :) Thanks. It's just at the moment I am...

Re: In-line power switch
It would be nice to hear what some hardware oriented developers in Mister community think about the subject. And of course there are some other FPGA guys (Krikzz & Kevtris etc...) who surely know how this goes but maybe they don't want to say anything related to Mister. I think it's as overblown as the fan fears. You asked. fan fears——> do you...

Re: PlayStation
Sorry but what does MRA mean? MRA files are XML files with the core to use, a list of the ROMs, and more information. If you look under /_Arcade/ you'll probably see some of those. For example, here's the Galaxian MRA file: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Arcade-Galaxian_MiSTer/blob/master/releases/Galaxian.mra thanks that makes sense. its informa...

Re: HELP - Fan at 3.3v on older IO board
Hm could anyone give a little more detail on how to connect the 5v noctua to 3.3v on an older board?
Do I need to solder?
Can I just connect some wire to the 3.3v hole and a gnd hole? Is that how it's done?
There are 2 gnd holes it seems.
One on the side and one more in the middle...

Arcade cores use MRA's and load a rom individually by MRA, that's one of their major distinctions. The NeoGeo core just has the capability of running arcade games because the MVS and AES were extremely similar in terms of hardware.

Stoked, so looking forward, do you guys think 32mb will be enough to run it? No way in hell. You should get an SDRAM upgrade, it's pretty cheap currently. On a second thought, since they plan to run the audio on the SDRAM maybe they won't use it for anything else and MAYBE it could run on 32mb, but I have my doubt. ^^ The dev board they are ...

IO Board v6.0 Fan-Selection
Hello dear Mister Board, I recently acquired a 6.0 IO-Board and three fans to try out. These are the ones: - Sunon 5v - Sunon 12v - Noctua 5v Do I have to solder to make 5v fans work in 3.3v mode on an 6.0 IO-Board? Or is there another way to do exactly that? Is there something like a tutorial for this task? Except very general ones concerning sold...
