Re: ESXDos, is it possible?

Hello, I'm trying to use the Top100 VHD, I placed the boot1.rom from akeley post above in the Spectrum folder. When I mount the VHD it starts to boot, I notice an RTC.SYS error, and then I am back at the grey screen with nothing going on. That's normal behaviour. Try pressing F11, then the proper menu should launch. The RTC.SYS error can be ignore...

Re: AmigaVision 2024.10.10 Released with Internet Support + MiSTer CD32 Launcher, 182 Game Updates

Lemmings 2 is not the big problem. I'ts just one example of the image-cutting problem and characters like Dan Akroid in "Coneheads." Those 31% referred NTSC almost all have their pal version. But the other 69% PAL doesn't have an NTSC version. The Commodore Amiga that I remember was enjoyed with CRT TVs and mostly PAL. But of course ever...

Re: AmigaVision 2024.10.10 Released with Internet Support + MiSTer CD32 Launcher, 182 Game Updates

I never said it was an indication of NTSC, I said it was an NTSC resolution, and you know as well as I that it was ALSO used for the convenience of compatibility. No doubt it helped performance too. It is not an NTSC resolution, an NTSC picture is made of 480 scanlines, so the closest thing you get to an NTSC resolution would bei 240p because this...

Re: Inconsistent success logging in to the forum

Are you having trouble logging into the forum or your MiSTer? Assuming it’s the forum I think it might have to do with Private Relay which acts like a VPN to avoid using your exact IP address. I find that I have occasional trouble logging in when that’s enabled. Ah, didn't read the forum part :D Thought it was about logging on to the MiSTer, sigh,...

Re: Inconsistent success logging in to the forum

On my MiSTer the IP address of the device seems to change with every reboot, it starts with xxx.xx.30 and when I pull the plug and instantly reboots it is xxx.xx.31. I think this is because the MiSTer does not unconnect from my router (pulling the plug) and so my router thinks it is still there and gives the MiSTer another IP the next time.

As far as I see the main difference of the machine was the modified rom and the built in Kempston interface. My guess is swapping the main Rom should be sufficient to get TK90X support.

Silly question, how can, the MSX be Z80 or R800 driven? Or is the R800 for the Turbo version? Cheers.

The R800 was the CPU in the Turbo-R. It was binary compatible to the Z80 but a new designed CPU designed by the ASCII corporation.

I´m using the 2600/7800 core grabed by update all. maybe is a polling issue? thanks by the way for the quick reply Shouldn't be a polling issue. You said earlier you have different Daemonbite adapters in use. I don't know how they are seen from the MiSTer side. Re: Atari ST HDD games image (save-states possible)

Sorry, I just can't agree here. I'm not aware of their work either. They may have done a huge amount of work and a tremendous amount of good, and I take nothing away from that, but they are indisputably profiting off the original (much older) works of others, and that's where a clear line in the sand exists between hobby and prison time. The momen...

7Gb image is not on his website. You need to email Petari (email is shown on his 8bitchip site) and he will provide instructions. At some point he’s got upset about people sharing his images without giving him any credit and now he charges (let’s say he asks for donation) for the latest image files. No Problem here with both games, you can try to delete your control configs for the core, to me it sounds like they interfere with the joystick settings. Thanks for your help - I reset the configs, now the controller seems to work in all directions EXCEPT I cant get the fire button to work at all. Even in the Megacart menu, the controller can go u...

This one does not:

Interesting, does the non working one work in other devices? What does it do?

If I'm not using an external SD card and instead want to just use the "emulator image", do I just rename it to vhd? I'm more confused what I'm supposed to do (if anything) with the ZX and mmc ROM images. I'm specifically referring the contents of sn-emulator-24.11.zip: cspect-next-1gb.img [rename to boot.vhd?] enNextZX.rom [what do I do ...

Any direction on how to update the underlying OS with the new core? Copy the extracted files to the root of the mounted drive. Eject it. Then launch the zxnext ...

This should work find, all SD Card extenders work the same, they simply extend the SD port.

Re: SD card hole too small

I wish the hole for the SD card slot were just a little bigger. It would be a lot easier to use. I think there's another enclosure that fixes this but I don't think it's compatible with the IO Direct which from what I can tell is the best analog IO since it allows for dual SDRAM. Is there a solution? If you don't mind about the looks you can alway...

Ahhh...I thought it was a separate deal. If it's a machine bundle, I agree, that's alright for attracting purchasers (though to my understanding the Next has never been exactly easy to obtain). The development of the backers only ZX Next games is financed from the kickstarter funds. So crowdfunded games for a crowdfunded machine. Ye Gods. The games were part of the stretch goals, that's how crowdfunding works. Don't see a problem with this. There are a lot of games for the Next that are developed and published the normal way. In retrospect, see the appeal of keeping some titles "for kickstarter backers only" - but there should be a timed release for such titles, making them playable on any generation of the Next. Looking forward to an ever brighter future for this cool machine. I don't. All that can possibly achieve is to reduce software sales levels, and you...

As an Amiga Owner. The best way to run ST games is to take them to a bin and throw them away then play the superior Amiga version !!

You are right, seeing the Amiga versions of 3D games crawl at 7MHz is a priceless experience that has to be seen.
