Re: Atari Jaguar Core

AvP works for me and the speed is like I remember it from my real Jaguar. Didn't do a side by side comparison, but from how it feels it is like on the real hardware. As I wrote earlier, I only get the machine working in NTSC. Perhaps I'm using the PAL bios ROM, I will have to check that. Would you be able to post your bios? I could be wrong but I ...

Re: Atari Jaguar Core

Anyone else had any success with AvP? I was looking forward to trying it out when I saw the video on YouTube. I have a real Jag and AvP cart, but I've been looking forward to the Jaguar core maturing to the point where I can box the machine up and semi retire it. AvP works for me and the speed is like I remember it from my real Jaguar. Didn't do a...

Re: AmigaVision 2024.10.10 Released with Internet Support + MiSTer CD32 Launcher, 182 Game Updates

I tried the CD32 version of All Terrain Racing. I found the title screen slightly corrupted, and the game crashed the Mister after a minute on the first track. Just curious if anybody else is seeing this as the game is marked as working on the compatibility sheet? Cheers! Just gave it a try, some of the menu texts look slightly distorted, but I do...

Re: Atari Jaguar Core

I just tried this core version, it worked for me, but only after I switched to NTSC. On PAL not even the Jaguar logo was rendered correct. No big deal as even the games developed in Europe where aimed mostly to the NTSC market, so every Jaguar game should run as intended in NTSC but not vice versa (Dragon's Lair requires 60Hz to run correct).

Re: AmigaVision 2024.10.10 Released with Internet Support + MiSTer CD32 Launcher, 182 Game Updates

Many thanks, as always, this really is a fantastic collection. I like that it works so well relying on the Amiga hardware to provide the UI. I like this approach much more then something like Gamebase. Don't get me wrong having all the adverts, manuals, boxscans, etc. from a good GB collection is a fun thing too, but having the whole Amiga history ...

Re: Atari Jaguar Core

Direct Video is super patchy but rom compatibility is dramatically improved. Thanks to Grey Rogue for picking up the torch on this one. Finally a reason to have dual ram, so we can play the like 3 worthwhile games on the platform! :) It's some more, as someone who owned a Jaguar back in the day (and still has one) I think at least these titles are...

I think it'd be nice to have a thread for unstable releases.

I guess nobody would object, if you open such a thread in the common forum. If somebody posts in it, it will go straight to the front page of the forum like any other thread.

It sounds like I should go with the original 3D controller. Can I use it with every Saturn game even if the game doesn't use the analog pad?

The pad has a button to switch between analog and digital controls, it should work with all games.

I don't see how this can be real. What I think is that the QL core runs at the same speed as an accelareted QL with an 68030@56 MHz. My guess is the core still uses the Motorola 68008 as the CPU, just vastly overclocked.

Alien Resurrection? Wikipedia Steven Garrett of GameSpot criticised the then-uncommon dual analogue stick control scheme, describing the game as "almost unplayably difficult to control and unreasonably hard to enjoy".[15] Despite this, the control scheme would soon become standard for first-person shooters on consoles.[1] GamePro said th...

2 months...woah then... :o It'll be 50€ on top of that for me with shipping included, kind of a hard sell... I hope to find it ready to go somewhere else hopefully~ :geek: An alternative would be DB9 ArcadeR with an USB encoder. Plus once the consoles use frame buffers the advantages of FPGA evaporate. Gamecube is near perfect on Dolphin. Why does this line keep being repeated everywhere? Have you used Dolphin? Dolphin has quite a lot of glitches and accuracy work has almost stopped. They're mostly working on the GUI now. Performance problems are obviously worse too compa...

Re: Coin? Arcade 3? What are these buttons?

The System E was a SMS with a second VPD chip and the CPU on a daughter board (this allowing Sega to use a Z80 with encryption technology for better copy protection). This means the core can support the System E by doubling the VDP. The system had 32 Kilobytes of VRAM opposed to the 16 Kilobytes of the SMS because each VDP chip had it's own 16 Kilo...

Re: Retro Fighters Saturn/Genesis controller + Reflex Adapt

The BrawlerGen has a digital pad and an analog pad and a Genesis connector and a Saturn connector. I wonder if the analog pad would work through the Genesis connector into a Reflex Adapt into a MiSTer when paying a Saturn game. I think there is a slight confusion when it comes to the terms analog vs. digital here. As I understand @misterrocks from...

Interesting. It must convert the analog signal to digital and then back to analog again when connecting to a real Saturn? If so I would think it introduces lag which wouldn't exist with a purely analog controller. Not sure what you are talking about, nothing about the signal of Saturn controllers is analog. The Retro-Bit SEGA Saturn® PRO Edition I...

Re: Unable to play in 4:3 on my QLED

This reminds me of when I was trying to get my parents Panasonic Plasma TV to display my Mega Drive in 4:3. For some reason the TV's aspect ratio menu was frozen - which was pretty annoying as the console was only booting up with stretched 16:9 video being displayed. A few hours later and I'd worked out that enabling Game Mode was what was prevent...

Re: minimig resets itself when using workbench

My MiSTer seemed a bit crashy after a recent update (random reboots in some cores, and particularly when fiddling with core settings). In my case it was just an underpowered PSU (which had seemed OK-ish on older versions). Got myself a 4A PSU and no stability problems since. It must not necessarily be underpowered, it may got faulty over time. The...

The FPGAs are clearly chip pulls.

What’s the evidence for this?

a) The manufacturer said so.

b) It's visually quite obvious they are used in every photo to date.

Where did Altera say this? There is another clone board that uses pulled chips, sure you don't conflate both boards?

Re: Need help, never used an Atari ST.

Hard disks were very uncommon for the ST. The desktop is on ROM, games were released on floppy, only a handful supported installation on harddisk. So floppy images is the way to go! Most games were converted over the years to run from HDD. There is a 3GB image filled with games and demos that is not complete but has about 90% of all games released.

This is in the labeling of the buttons only and not the in function. Must confess I never paid attention to this and I think nobody who actually held the controller in their hands would have. The lower buttons are labeled as L2 and R2 but when you take the controller your index fingers lay on them and not on the buttons labeled L and R. This is be...
