OOOooo!
That would fix so many things! It'd let OS/2 and BSD boot!

Re: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE when installing Windows NT 4

Probably the same thing that prevents OS/2 from working. The IDE system on ao486 is... not great. May be that ao486 is just wedging the bios routine to the VHD handler, so anything that expects/needs there to be an /actual/ IDE controller doesn't work. I don't really know, but that's what it seems like to me. DOS works. OS/2, NT, BSD, etc do not wo...

Re: FreeBSD not booting

Oh... That's an interesting idea! I may do the same with OS/2. Maybe with a boot floppy I'll be able to get a driver to work.
I mean a lot of the reason I got the MiSTer was for retro gaming, and Amiga, and C64, but damn I also really am nostalgic for OS/2.

Re: FreeBSD not booting

May be the IDE implementation - that seems to be why OS/2 doesn't boot.

Ambient Amiga Demo?

So I'm a huge fan of Swinth for the C64. Will quite happily leave it on in the background while I work on other stuff. Nice visuals and non-intrusive music. Wondering if there are any similar demos for the Amiga? I've looked at a bunch, but they all seem oversoaked in ego. Looking for something with good music, and pretty graphics, but without any ...

Re: Networking post RTG release

This is probably due to both networks being 10.x.x.x. The IP stack on the MiSTer is maybe getting confused about where each 10.x.x.x IP is.

If possible, try connecting the MiSTer to something with a different subnet - e.g. 192.168.1.x/24 and see if that works.

Re: OS/2 - Any known compatible versions?

I wonder if getting OS/2 2.11 installed, and then upgrade to warp 4 would work. I'm gonna try, if I can find an ISO or my old 2.11 floppies... Nope. 2.1 doesn't work, either. :'( Tried a bunch of prebuild VHDs as well - they start booting, but immediately fail when they try to mount root. It's always trap 000d, so I think OS/2 is having issues wit...

Re: OS/2 - Any known compatible versions?

Has anyone tried the newer versions, like ecommstation or ArcaOS? Newer ones are built to run on even newer hardware & likely even less compatible with aging hardware. Going older is the most rational approach. I wonder if getting OS/2 2.11 installed, and then upgrade to warp 4 would work. I'm gonna try, if I can find an ISO or my old 2.11 flo...

Re: OS/2 - Any known compatible versions?

I would love this. Used OS/2 extensively - was my first 'real' OS after DOS.
Was super-excited at the prospect of installing it after all these decades.

Has anyone tried the newer versions, like ecommstation or ArcaOS?
