Re: 9.7" iPad Retina Screen Perfect for MiSTer, $60 Fully Assembled 😄

Thanks for starting the thread on using an ipdad screen with your MiSTEr! I've just repurposed an old iPad 4 with a board but I do appear to have bought one a little hastily that doesn't accept a PAL signal. All NTSC cores work fine but PAL just returns an incomaptible signal error I saw your link to the all-in-one at the top of the page, and sever...

Re: MiSTer Favorites - Menu Shortcuts for Your Cores and Games

I've just tried copying the script across again. For some reason my old file was 33k and the new one is 512, so there's a difference - but I now see an actual error when I run it - screenshot attached.

Thanks!

Not sure if it's useful info, but I'm running a USB SSD drive with my game roms, and I run my scripts etc from the SD card with my mister install.

Re: MiSTer Favorites - Menu Shortcuts for Your Cores and Games

Thanks for your help here, revisiting this! Interestingly, I can't run ini_settings.sh without the following error being returned (attached image showing ssh attempt to run the ini_settings.sh script) When I try to run favorites.sh, I get the same result - a brief pause, then I'm just returned to the command line prompt. No error message - it's jus...

Re: MiSTer Favorites - Menu Shortcuts for Your Cores and Games

Hi! Script looks great and I'd love to try it. However, when I run the .sh file throught the Mister Scripts menu, I find it just bounces me back to the main menu without running. I've tried both a wired and wireless connection, run update-all etc, nothing seems to fix this though. Any idea how I might debug? I'd be very grateful for input! Thanks i...

Re: Turrican II AGA Scrolling Issues

Hi - just to post a quick follow up. There's some info from the dev on this topic explaining that the issue lies with MiSTers AGA core's copper timing. There's a more in depth explanation here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=112916&page=17 Great to know that it's not an issue with the game, hopefully identifying this helps lead to develo...

Re: MT32-Pi: Glitchy upon loading certain DOS games until Soundblaster FX kick in

Update - tried new cable - same results.
Monkey Is. 1 & 2 talkie versions, music is glitchy until a voice / kicks in, then it resolves and is perfect.

I actually have another mister with the standar analogue I/O board which I'll check against this one to see what results I get and report back here in case it's helpful.

Thanks!

Re: MT32-Pi: Glitchy upon loading certain DOS games until Soundblaster FX kick in

Just curious @Malor, does Sam & Max AO486 work for you? I choose the option for MT32, but with that game only get the standard sounds. It does say loading sounds at the start, but I definitely don't hear the MT32 at all there.
Thanks!

Re: MT32-Pi: Glitchy upon loading certain DOS games until Soundblaster FX kick in

Thank you - those are the versions I'm using in the VHD. Nice to know they're solid. I also just re-ran Flynnsbit's updater script for the top 300 pack successfully, and reinstalled the software for the Pi on the SD card side. Issue still persists though. New cable and heat sink should be here shortly, so I can try those too. Appreciate your effort...

Re: MT32-Pi: Glitchy upon loading certain DOS games until Soundblaster FX kick in

Thanks very much for your input - I'll keep experimenting! I checked the cable seating and still have the issue. It's really just three games after a lot more testing, Monkey Is.2, Day of the Tentacle (both with those glitchy starts), and Sam & Max which just doesn't play Midi audio at all. In ScummVM, all three games work perfectly in MT32, an...

Re: MT32-Pi: Glitchy upon loading certain DOS games until Soundblaster FX kick in

Thanks @Malor Pi3b+ There is one odd thing re the config.txt instruction. The guide says if you see a low voltage warning, to add avoid_warnings=2 above the [Pi3] line When I do so, I still get the low voltage warning If I add the same line below the [Pi3] line this warning goes away and things function very near perfectly, this issue being the onl...

Re: MT32-Pi: Glitchy upon loading certain DOS games until Soundblaster FX kick in

Thanks for your reply - I did run the updater last week right after downloading the pack.
THe USB lead is the short one that came with the board from MisterFPGA.co.uk, so I think that's good.

I'll try running the updater again... just didn't want to lose my existing saved games and wasn't sure if they'd be wiped!

MT32-Pi: Glitchy upon loading certain DOS games until Soundblaster FX kick in

I just received my MT32-Pi, and WOW! This thing is amazing. It's working almost perfectly, with the following hitch. ISSUE: On some DOS games (Monkey Island 2, Day of the Tentacle), the music starts in a very glitchy / distorted way, until the first sound effect kicks in at which point it becomes perfect. It's as though the sound effect starting co...

Re: Is Swapping LED Assignment on I/O Board Possible?

Thank you all for the replies - all valid suggestions and solutions! I did try tinkering with the wires - knowing full well the risk that the 30yr old dry solder joints might come away from the LED's at the other end. The wires are short and stiff. They did, but I was able to confirm simpling swapping some pins around in the housing would work befo...

Is Swapping LED Assignment on I/O Board Possible?

Hi! I'd like to rearrage the LED assignment on my IO board. Reason? I've installed the DE10 into an A600 case using one the the excellent daughter boards from 8bitsForever.net The A600's LEDs work well, but for Minimig & C64 especially, the one labelled Floppy on the case is showing Power (constant), and the one labelled DISK shows floppy activ...

** RESOLVED** Video recently stretched vertically

**RESOLVED**

I still can't work out what caused it, but many restarts and launching C64 core then returning to Minimig with all the same presets, and Boom! Back to perfect image scaling.

I'd still like to learn what may have caused that, but I'm happy to see things back to perfect.

Happy MiSTering everyone! Cheers.

ini settings for both HDMI and VGA simultaneously

Hi all! My question is about simultaneous HDMI + VGA output from MiSTer. I have great working .ini files for both my 1920x1200 LCD monitor (from HDMI), and my CRT TV (from I/O board VGA-Component). I toggle between these two .ini files depending on what I'm playing on. I understand that you can output both HDMI simultaneously, but I don't know how ...

Re: Off-centre/squashed OSD on CRT main menu

Thanks for your reply! I've played around with the video_mode= settings and tried various numbers here, 1 through 13 - nothing seems to have any effect on the start menu screen. It changes the resolution used in the cores, but the opening menu and OSD remains unchanged and constant. It's like it's currently doing the opposite of what I'd like it to...

**FIXED** Off-centre/squashed OSD on CRT main menu

Hi, recently had help getting CRT working with wallpaper here, thanks. One remaining issue: The OSD is slightly squashed vertically and a little off centre to the left when not in a core. It's Small thing, but it'd be nice to fix - I suspect the whole image is being shown with some vertical squeeze/incorrect aspect ration. Images below show this. T...

Wallpaper not showing on CRT over VGA > Component / IO board

Hi everyone, and Happy New Year! I have my MiSTer connected to an NTSC Toshiba CD, via Component cable from the analogue out on the standard IO board. Works great! Only my wallpaper doesn't show, only the rolling static noise video that plays as stock. Searched the forum and can't quite find an answer that works for me. Here's my .ini https://drive...
