Re: Well Nobody Saw This Coming! Nintendo 64 Core Announced

I do have a real n64 with everdrive and no expansion, but Nintendo did very bad for pal version and video output is crappy on modern tv. S-video fixes it a bit, but not as a real crt. Mine has a sad story: we played a lot with it and goldeneye with a friend who died by cancer. So for me it's like remembering such afternoons. I RGB Modded my PAL N6...

dshadoff wrote: Fri Nov 05, 2021 8:07 pm Not necessarily so. It may make assumptions about the signals on the pins, including power, and may attempt to "condition" the signal actively.
Unless you built it yourself (or at least reverse-engineer it), you cannot say exactly how it treats the signals.
They are passive, they dont process anything, they just switch.

Re: USB hub on the SNAC port?

To be clear, I doubt you would find a switch with multiple inputs to a single output. If you needed this you would just use a hub.
You may well be able to rewire a usb 3.0 switch to work but I haven't done a teardown of one so I dont know what lines they switch.

Anyhow, it's probably easier to just make one up yourself.

Re: USB hub on the SNAC port?

A switch would only be switching physical connections. They have nothing to do with the USB standard other than using the connections.
USB 3.0 extender cables are also fine for use on SNAC.

Yes, it would require a USB3.0 switch. A hub or anything USB2.0 wouldn't work at all.

Re: HD Support for WB 2.04 and 1.3.3?

My A600 (non HD) has 37.300 and takes a 2GB CF card without issues. Single partition, all space is available. Only difference between 37.300 and 37.350 is the hard drive seek time which is longer on the 350 ROM, so that it can easier detect a slow starting drive. You should change to 37.350, you will suffer corruptions long term. Check into it, 37...

I just noticed that one of my 2.05 has HD in it, but rom version is 37.300, not 37.350. Will test this rom tonight.
IIRC 37.300 has a 40MB limit on hard disks, you'd be much better of sourcing the 37.350 rom.

No, 2.05.299 has no ide support
You ideally want 2.05.350 as that has support for larger disks.

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Initial Port to MiSTer

It would be a nice feature to have a shared folder or some way to load spectrum next files from the Mister OSD. It's because the next reads to/from the SD card, so you basically have to emulate that. The best way to deal with it is to make a copy of the .vhd, move it to your PC, mount it and add files there. Every time you add content to the .vhd,...
